Flying out of DIA / Denver ... anyone with real experience? help..
wow, these airport threads really bring the nervous Nellies out of troll mode.
my carry on always has a days supply in it. I use tight pacs for rolled joints.
I go in the family restrooms and smoke out during layovers.
bring larger amounts in your checked luggage in a glass canning jar. I usually put the glass jar in something that would protect it from breaking.
Rubbermaid 1/2 gallon jug is a perfect protection for a full size ball jar if you are packing your luggage or mailing home. Kmart has them.
if you have a medical card tape a copy of your rec to the jar. wrap up the jar so if TSA searches the bag they can't see what's in it without effort. I use thick paper and tape.
if the herb is dense you can cram 3 zones into a full size Ball jar. I put a layer of plastic wrap between strains so I can separate it when I get to where I'm going. you can't pack as much in the jar if it's bagged separate and in those thick bags the dispensaries use.
once you've made it through security a few times you will stop being nervous.
I had a job that forced me to travel internationally almost every day and I needed my meds. my carry on always has $5-10 loose mixed change and lots of small personal electronics in it to give the x ray people lots to focus on besides a small tube of herb.
I always have dog biscuits in my pocket in case I have to confront dogs but it's never been a problem.
Airport security is focused on bombs and weapons, not personal amounts of weed.

smoking dope at airport restroom seems dumb .. and your clothes/body/hair retain the smell...I used to fly with dope all the time ,till a friend got busted...

In airports that I travel through regularly I have scouted around and scoped out the family restrooms looking for one with the vent over the counter or the toilet.
best if you are smoking right under it so standing on the toilet or stand/kneel on counter. blow smoke into it and let the side stream from the joint go directly in.
keep a mini ozium spray in my carry on and hose the room down after but the vents in the airport toilets are hella strong and vacuum the smoke away really well if you are right under it.
some hotel bathrooms have vents strong enough to pull this off as well.
when you can only find a bathroom with a high ceiling and nothing to stand on… the wise traveler will have a couple of paperclips and tape.
you can use a section of newspaper pages and fan them out and roll it up on a bias to fashion a tube that reaches from your lips to the vent.
paperclip hooks keep it hanging on to the grate, trash when you are done.
many airports have outdoor smoking areas where you can get away with a joint if you are a straight looking old white man and you are discrete.
there are some airports where I've been forced to stay inside and a family restroom off the beaten path can be a real relief when you are traveling all day.
if you are careful and thoughtful moving a few grams past security shouldn't present a problem in US airports and some international.
the new body scanners sometimes catch people with things stuffed into underwear, socks etc so don't try that anymore.
many men hold their wallet in their hand whilst being body scanned.
in the past when caught without a tight pac for my carry on I would clean, grind, and press 2-4 grams of herb in a folded envelope to be just smaller than the size of a credit card,
put it between a couple of books or boards and rest a heavy piece of furniture on it over night.
use a corner of a turkey bag, then foil and tape to seal it then i fold it up in a hand written note using some glue so it's impossible to unfold easily
then hide it in my overstuffed wallet and hold it in my hand while they scan me. I've never had my wallet searched in the US.

put it in your checked luggage among some other crap. just make sure it's not looking suspiciously wrapped. put it in a bag with a bunch of other simislar items like, a bag of potpourri, some rolled up socks. a hand full of coins. just make sure it doesn't look like 2 bags of weed when it goes through the scanner. have you ever looked at the xray monitor? it's not like it's a very high detail screen they're looking at.

^^ I think you missed my point...my bag would have nothing but clothes and weed, and a personal hand bag would have all the stuff they normally want to look at. Assuming that they don't search every last bag now.

Both carry on's, by the way. You're allowed a full size carry on and a small personal bag like a laptop etc etc

there's way more scrutiny over whats going in the cabin of the plane over what goes in the belly. they have bomb proof containers down there. not up top. they're going over all your carry on with a fine toothed comb. the checked luggage not so much. i've taken many weeds on planes. don't try carrying it on in your bag. better keep it on your person somewhere. and if it's an ounce of weed. i don't suggest trying to put it on your body. they will find it when they body scan or pat you down.
what happens after they catch you is up to the TSA. they can call the denver police or let you go. i dunno what they might do. is that an international airport? they might hand you off to the feds.
