Flowering time?

I know most people count flowering time from the flip to 12/12, and it isn't EXACT anyway -- check the trichs to figure out when to harvest. BUT...

If a plant already started to flower before 12/12, will the general flowering time be less once IN 12/12?

Are we talking flower or preflower? Preflowers are just a sign that the plant is mature enough to flower. A plant has to be mature to flower. An immature plant will take a little longer to flower than a mature plant.

I gradually moved their "day" from 24/0 to 20/4 to 18/6, to 12/12... somewhere between the 18/6 and 12/12, one of my plants had slightly more than just preflowers. The other just had "hairs".

The one who was a little more "advanced" I just found out is supposed to be a 9 weeker (the guy who gave them to me had no idea, but he asked a friend who has grown that particular strain). We're at 5.5 weeks, and it's marching right along. Doesn't look really like it still has 3.5 weeks to go, though, but what do I know? I am a first timer :D The pistils are about 50% changed color at this point. Trichomes still clear, though.

ETA: These were clones, btw.
