Flowering plant going back into veg..

So my flowering plant of 3-4 weeks is starting to go back into veg due to it getting to much light. I've noticed that the buds have started to form but the white pistils are shrinking every day. I threw it outside a couple of weeks ago and I can't seem to find a shady enough spot to flower properly. I live in mid-So California.

It seems like I have few options as I'm broke as fuck right now.

1) Go out and buy better budget lights that hopefully someone can recommend to me here

2) Grow it in my room with a shitty 20 watt 30" Florescent Aquariam reflector light.

3) Attempt to find another shady spot outside (does this even work?)and try to flower it that way.

Which option would work best to maintain flowering until I can afford that 1000 watt hps light setup I've been lusting after.

Extraneous details:
~7 Pound pot
Miracle gro every other time I water.
I Water when plants seem to be almost dry.
Sour Diesel

:thank you:

someone else will have to confirm this, but its my understanding that cannabis loves FULL sunlight...maybe your issue is heat, or maybe lack of nutrients?

give us a list of your complete setup...from pot sizes to soil mix to temps, ventilation and strain...spare no details!

Well I was under the impression that one of the most important factors of growing flowering cannabis was that 12 hours of darkness was essential to the plant. If I'm not wrong it determins whether the plant stays in vegeatitive growth or flowering mode. I figure the California summer's are too much sun for the plant to handle. Right?

oh okay I get what you're saying.

ANY sunlight is too much for the plant to handle during the 12 hour dark period. it has to be 12 hours sunlight, 12 hours dark...not 12 hours sun, 6 hours shade, 6 hours dark.

thats why so many of us spend so much time and $ lightproofing our cabs

CA summer has a lot more sun than 12 hours...so you most likely tricked it back into veg.

as for your options...#1 is your only solution. buy some CFLs or a 70 watt HPS, throw it in a cabinet, rig up an exhaust, and youre set.

for some good deals on HPS lighting check out 'econolight'...buy a security HPS light, and rig it up as a remote ballast. Theres a tech on here to do that if you do a search.

Well, this is interesting. There are so many factors going on here. Can you get pictures? Marijuana needs complete darkness for 12 hours in order to flower. Depending on how far along you are there may be a couple of options

As stated, pot wont flower unless the photoperiod is 12/12. As for lighting, i would suggest a 150w HPS security light and convert to a remote type. Think the thread on that is in the equipment and design forums. But i would suggest that you leave your plant outside if you can. Going from flowering to veg, and back to flowering is really stressful on plants and can cause hermies. In your area, i would expect your plant to start flowering again around the end of aug/beginning of sep. If you do end up bring the plant back indoors i would suggest you keep it in veg for 2-4 weeks so the stress can be minimized good luck

Actually, you don't have to be 12/12. Dark must be that. Longer daylight gives long syems, longer dark, gives shorter and tighter buds. Never let the dark period be less than 9 hours as this will trick the plant into more growth.....respectfully, just sayin

i would probably just leave it outside and let nature do its thing. if your lucky and depending on how far along it is or how fucked up it is from the light change it will veg out then flower normally.

I think the light/dark, 12/12 disparigy is fundimental in your problem with "reversal." If dark is dark enough (which is predicated on amount of light during its period) should stabelize your situation without going to extreme measures.... just sayin
