Flowering 3 month old mothers in 3 gallon buckets?

Hey ya'll, I have a question for you. I have 3 mother plants that are 3 months old in 3 gallon buckets of FFOF. I want to flower them, does that mean I'll need to transplant them into 5 gallon buckets? Or can I just throw em in the flower room in their current 3 gal. containers?

Bonus Question- When hooking up a CAN filter, do you want the air being sucked through it, or pushed through it?

Happy Vibes for this weekend, looks like it'll be a beaut.

For your mother plant to flower question, it depends on the root development up until this point. If the mother plants are almost or currently rootbound in their current containers then I would suggest adding more space to the rootzone allowing maximum comfort during flowering.

There are multiple ways to do this, one you mentioned just getting a larger container. Another is to do a bog style double potting, or you can even trim some of the roots off and re-pot with fresh medium around it.

Either way, the plant will flower out and make flower clusters to use as your discretion. A 5 gallon up-pot might even be too large if the plant is not ready for it. How developed and how fast do the current mother plants metabolize? Are they rocking hard or softly rocking?

What kind of environment are they going into? A wick or saucer style set-up can help if you leave them in the 3's. Though the rootbound issue does not only pertain to feed and moisture; it can also trigger some specimens to show undesirable traits due to that specific applied pressure.

I hope this comment helps your current query.

The bonus:)
Both work just fine, but would best be determined by your ductwork design. If you are pulling just be sure the rest of your duct line is sealed. Aluminum tape can be a great help with this. Pushing helps avoid this need, but is not always an option due to design limitations.

Pulling, as in recirculating the air in a closed space is more efficient in terms power output. I hope this comment helps your current questions.

Thank you for your kind words thal, it seemed like I left so much out. Variables are nearly endless, but that is part of the fun. Exercise for the brain. :D
