How does everyone keep flower stretch down?? Its something I'll need to do for a SoG. I need some ways that work I can try out for the rest of the year in my Ebb&Flow.

you cannot stop it from stretching.. hence you allow for it to double in size and then some more on top of that.

Hennessy,

Their is a product called Humboldt county's own Bushmaster, i have been growing a stretchy haze sativa my last couple runs and i can honestly say that it works very well it will solve all your stretch problems. If you don't want to use this product you could probably keep your plants short by topping them and then tying them down, and i sure there are many other ways as well but this just my advice that works for me

You can start them in 12/12 under blue spectrum light for the first 2 weeks or if you are not oppsed to trying soil you can plant them in tiny cups like DrGreenGenes, there's also some bloom fert called phosphoload or something that stops the stretch but I think it's not recommended or something. Good luck!

yea or if your using 400watt lights for SOG then use Cmh and they keep the stretch down seriously! I have a topped plant and one side has a 400watt Hps the other has a 400watt Cmh and its incredible the diffrenece in stretch! But basically if you dont use that id say veg time....

I need tighter nodes. I veg with a 84w T5 and they still stretch like crazy.

the phoshaload stuff makes buds looks freakish.. danno what the hecks in that

is the bushmaster organic or does anyone know of any organic liquids for stretch?

Maybe some suggestions on what I may be doing wrong to make them stretch?

This is Sour Diesel IBL x Deep Chunk.. its very nice from seed and i wanna start running it from clone in a SoG type ... I know Sour Diesel is a stretcher but any tips would help so I can increase yeild, its alitte to tall

3week veg from seed got it to 3ft :(

I think if I can get my stretch down alittle I'll increase my yields alittle more which would be nice.

3ft in 3 weeks?????? you sure you didnt pass out for another 3weeks ontop of that??

i do realise some will stretch alot, i know because i grew thai before and it can stretch stupid amounts, but only when you go into flower.. in veg its not so bad.

to stop plants growing tall i give each seedling a cfl the moment it breaks the surface, 2-3cm away, they need checking everyday to prevent them touching it tho. this stops u having a 10cm floppy stem on your seedling. the light is on for 24hrs for the WHOLE veg phase, if you ever change to 15/9 they will start the flowering stretch, 18/6 may or may not do it.
veging under hps will make it stretch also, you want cfl or MH (blue spectrum) lights for closer nodes.
clones also have closer nodes, i can easily get a clone to have 1 node every 1cm, through the entire veg phase.

and as i said before, theres nothing you can do about the stretch when you go from 24/0 to 12/12, but again they stretch less with clones.
if you must use plants grown from seed, tie them down! even around the rim of the pots and veg the nodes out for a few weeks then flower, that will seriously reduce the final height :)

I didn't know they stretch less from clone. How much less do they stretch?

most of them did this also
-Biodiesels on the right

Does kelp or anything cause stretch,ph issues, temp issues,or food issues cause extra stretch?

You need to even out your canopy and bring the light closer. Use some phonebooks or something to stack your shorter plants on to even out your canopy.

The flower stretch is a good thing to me. Love that it actually does it as a matter of fact. But if it's gonna be a problem you can just tie them down.

well ive had seed plants stretch in a similar way to yours, ending up with like 10cm between nodes, but clones seem to only stretch maybe 5cm between nodes. this may be different for other strains, but i would expect you to be able to loose about 1/3 of the stretch your currently getting, just by using clones and veging under cfl :rasta:
too much distance between plant and light can cause stretching, but nothing else seems to cause it.

i like it, but only when growing outdoors, indoors it was annoying :nono:

well i dont think theres much you can do about the stretch once you flip to 12/12. but what i do when i put them in the flower room and flip to 12/12 is put them under a scrog screen. and let them stretch a little through the screen then pull down the tops again below the screen for an even canopy. if u get what im saying sorry cant really explain it in words.

when I first put mine under 12/12 I will use a mh light until they are done stretching. then I switch to hps to finish. that seems to help them to stretch less. its not a cure all. some strains stretch a lot, but under a full spectrum light they will still not stretch as much as they would under an hps. and after they are done stretching usually 3 to 4 weeks after the flip, they are not going to stretch anymore and the red spectrum light will make them bulk up
