1 of 3 Blue Magoo bx2 - kinda mutant like pheno, has a wide stem, crinkle/textured leaves, took longest of the tent to show pistils. It's showing the most resin production so far...some of the fan leaf edges are showing purple already so hopefully that's an indicator of a fast finisher. Nitrogen sensitive, only plant showing claw leaves on lowers.

Platinum Huckleberry Cookies

Dark green leaves with an obvious blueish tint compared to everything else in the tent. Nice node spacing, should have decent yield.

Critical Kush

Chocolope
Only plant in tent from clone, prolly the most sativa plant I've had.

YOAZZZZERSSZZZZZZ,
if ya dont mind me asking, what, who, how did this become????

I am thinking better quality product with less time spend caring for the plants. Most of my time I have to spend on plants is mixing nutes....adjusting the ph.....then it drifts and I have to adjust again...:wallbash: gotta have EC meters....pH pens...too much hassle I have found while trying to work 60 hrs/wk and have somewhat of a social life.

Starting out with a "kiss" nutrient pack to get started and going from there...

Your soil grown buds always look good....

This will be the last time I flower under LEDs......the flowers are lovely but don't pack on too much weight it seems. More than likely changing out to LEC's for right now.

Another major change coming is going to organic soil.....water only.

Unreg are your LEDS a commercial unit or DIY?

the only way i fly. work up front coast all the way to the end.

Any questions feel free to hit me up! Organics are definitely work, but as flboy noted it's all front loaded. As long as you're good at planning and can stick to a schedule it's fairly easy to build your soil, give it some "cook" time and then plant, water and harvest.

If you want even better results learn how to brew AACT, expand your amendment library, tweak your base ingredients and things can get even better!

I would think it would take more time and effort hand watering everything than topping off a res and adjusting Ph every couple days. But then I come from the Marine Aquarium hobby, which makes only having to watch Ph and PPM a snap compared to the testing and balancing on a marine tank.

For myself, having a bad back, The back-breaking work of mixing soil and amendments combined with the pain of having to keep a schedule to hand water, is much more work than Hydro. With Hydro I move water with a hose. No lifting needed. I use an always on meter that monitors Ph, PPM/EC and Temp. I can see at a glance when res shifts. Ph drift is slow only have to adjust when topping off res, usually every other day for me. I have found the more you let it drift the better the plants do.

Also I prefer automation. All feeding is on a timer. Set it and forget it. Don't have to worry about not getting home before lights go off to water. Some days I'm so bored from lack of maintenance I go in just to watch them grow for a while.

As a side note. I use fairly cheap Tri-Meters for monitoring rez. Some on here (not this thread) have given me shit for using them but I have 2 of them. They are much easier than pens. I only calibrate at the start of each grow and even after a full grow they rarely drift much as long as you don't let the probes dry out. You can see all readings at a glance, Ph, Temp and EC/PPM. Can even watch Ph change as you adjust instead of having to keep dipping the pen. Granted these won't work well for straight DWC unless you have 1 for each bucket but for anything with a rez they're great.

Can see the meter in this pic.

I agree with Rock. I find less time consuming myself too.

Dawn P' is 100% correct....all the work is front loaded....so be prepared for that. Thats what was killing me, i like to spread it out. If you start brewin you are now probably taking more time.

Lol, buckets....

Unless if you are using a 1 gal bucket for a rez it doesnt take as much effort as you guys are thinking. It takes about 15mins a week to whip up a nice size rez, 30 if you need to do 2. Thats being generous too. I mean unless you sit and watch the water fill up, how long does it take to measure a some nutes and pour? Fuck, i cook dinner while its filling.

Yeah mixing the soil is hard work but you really only gotta do it once and then you can just topdress each run with some alfalfa crab and kelp meals and put a inch or 2 of worm castings over that and your good to go. I got 25 gallon smart pots that are on their 5 or 6th cycle and the plants look great. As for watering of by hand, if its too much work just set up drip emitters.

i can see what ya mean about the back breaking, mixing up soil, compost and whatever else,ya throwing in there...but i enjoy that part, knowing im makeing up a killer food source/home for me ladies.. ...and hell hand watering aint all that bad unless ya plant count is thru the roof, even then it still could fairly be done with minimal effort,...and heck depending on pot size, they can go DAYS without watering.... bummer bout ya back RR thats pretty lame... ya grow area is looking proper my friend, good on you..

those teas dont take much time, unless ya makeing the mega brew...i usually do some molasses, some compost,kelp...with a nice fine airstone and decent pump and let it go for 24-48hrs...and hitting the button 4 then 5 then start does not classify makein dinner :moon: :comfort: ... i joke,i kid... man its starting to get warm outside...

Well, for me it's set/forget. 55 Gal rez, mix up once, set PH and don't come back for a week until the rez's are empty.
Those who know me on these board know that I've gone 3 weeks to Europe with everything on auto pilot and have come back to perfect bloom rooms every time.way
Theirs no right or wrong method, it's all preference and lifestyle...

You're right AL didn't mean to ignite the whole soil/hydro controversy. What is easy for some is hard for others and so it is indeed all personal preference.

Al are you doing DTW? And if so what medium?

Yes sir, coco DTW. Nah bro, you're not stoking anything. Hell, i keep all my moms in soil because it's just so damn easy and consistent

I've said this before; If i could master hydroponics i would never look back at another medium again. I've tried & failed and tried & failed again. Soon I'll try again...

if i ever went back to anything other than soil it would be coco. i hand watered and that was the least effort to me other than soil. i to have tried hydro with nothing but frustration.

Well I have not attempted RDWC as yet as can't afford a chiller but I think Flood and Drain in either hydroton (my choice) or Rockwool is super easy and pretty much idiot proof. For me the "Idiot Proof" was a big factor when I started. If you look at my album titled Second Grow you will see why I think it's idiot proof.

This is true.....if you dont break the soil down after each run and get rid of root balls. If you are then your in back breaking territory again  This would be the method i took doing soil again. i dont care for brewin teas too funky for me, got the stains to prove it :)

Although i do enjoy using 66% of p-nuts single pot size for entire run though. If he could work that out i would be willing to give another whirl.

The two systems I've tried are "Waterfarms" and ebb/flow buckets.
Hydroton, GH 3 part. Hit/miss with the 'farms and complete failure, multiple times, with the ebb/flow thing.
Plants start out great then root die off and...
If I'm not mistaken, Gsizzle grows in ebb/flow buckets full of rockwool croutons. We all see his successes:biggrin:
Too me, soil & coco are idiot proof. Hydroponics is Alchemy i suppose :blowbubbles:
I've got nothing but respect for guys that master the water. If i could master the water the way i whip coco I would be a millionaire by now.:joint:
