Kind was what we called topshelf up north atlantic parts in the early early 90s. Never heard of "crippy" till i moved here.

Maybe a geographical thing? Or maybe an older generation thing? The only people i knew that had "kind" up there were much much older than me at the time....like double my age or older.

been IN,AROUND,LIVING in a.stretch from.Sebastian inlet to NSB,since 84-85...and ill be 40 here within the next 1-3years...with that being said...

always,ALWAYS...surfing,fishing,skateboarding....whatever, it was either 2 options,...and damn near is still this day in my eyes/book...

REGELUAR OLD WEED...aka,it had seeds,it had stems it was usually brown,BUT you could also score good regs,GREEN,smelled good, very few seeds, this was usally around winter time.more it.seemed like, and these above mentioned would go anywheres from 75-100oz....regs, in my book was called "dirt"....

now CRIP steps into the picture...ez way to put it,was you were either smokin on "dirt" or "rich",meaning the crip...cause back in my day, every mother fucker WAS NOT RUNNING AROUND SMELLING LIKE A SKUNK WAS IN THERE POCKET OR EVEN A CAT PISSED ON YA(ya cat piss,im getting to that..)
so it was like "letz smoke....alrighty, you got some dirt,or you got that rich"...
now back when it was either one or the other, most the times, the "crip" was name less...none of this gg4,chem91,gsc,tahoe og,,so on and so on sbit like there is nowadays....no dont get me wrong i love all the new shit and.crosses...but back then it wasnt like that....either DIRT or RICH..AKA regs,OR crip....the crip word in general just means all that fire KILL...that was that....

now dont get me wrong,i do remember CAT PISS being around, especially in say 94-96....that was like the first real time ,when.someone said hey i.got some rich aka crip, they would follow that up by saying "yeah man its the cat piss"...cause like i said before that, crip was just that crip...if you didnt know WHO EXACTLY was growing it,OR first hand buddg, theres no way it or you would.of knew what the name was....

like nowadays you say, hell WE STILL SAY",u got that rich right " but back then it woukd.be simple yes or no....NOWADAYS its like yeah i got it....its,ortgea,grape stomper,gsc,gg4,WHATEVER...thats the thing about it all and thats that...now theres a actual name that follows "yea i have some crip,"...its such and such this..thats how i always and STILL LOOK AT IT...

now dont get me wrong a mother fucker would always wanna try amother fucker with the good ole...... "dude, got some kill...its not dirt....but its not rich...ITS MIDS"...
hook ya up 60-75quarter, 150-175 a half....GET THE FUCK OUTTA HERE....MIDS,what you mean some killer really good DIRT....cause if it aint the rich...IT WAS DIRT...AND THAT WAS THAT...ya had ya better then average dirt, but it was still that....IF IT WASNT THE RICH....

now to pipe out on some LOCAL TEUE DEAL RICH....peace amigos!!!

damn that was long post, good thing im off today......OFF THE DEEP END :huggg: :comfort:

Remember that durbin poison I used to get back n school brother.... That wasn't no hay!! Lol.
One things for sure.... I don't miss regs for nothin.....

Hey everyone, if your like me n stay n the doghouse w your wife....... Just play her this song n it will smooth things over n the best way!! Lol. TENACIOUS D- fuck her gently!! Lol.

on a different note,
I'm not sure what's the deal with people saying that Gainesville Green came from crippy. by no means am I an authority on either but I do know that the first time I heard the word "crippy" I was in 10th grade... 20++ years ago. The first time I heard the words Gainesville Green was even before that. I think probably before I was in High School.

I would bet that there's people out there trying to snake the name to profit somehow off of it. Kind of like Mr. Greengene's Cherry Bomb. My buddy from CO called me telling me all about Cherry Bomb kush that had no connection to Maui Wowie or Mr. Greengenes. I can see that though because Cherry Bomb is easy though, it's a pretty common name. but, Gainesville Green from Michigan? they ain't no Gainesville in Michigan.

I've been searching for Gainesville Green since I lost my seed stash in the mid 80's. Now more than ever I'm convinced that the "strain" is lost. The plants that I grew back then from the few seeds we found in bags were sativa in structure and in flower grown indoors or outdoors, but were undoubtedly the same stuff that we were buying based on the aroma and the high.

I've made numerous contacts (some sketchy, some very reliable) that provided "GG" seeds to me in the last 5 years and it was never close to what I remember smoking (very consistently) from '77 through '85 from central to north FL. It was a very consistent product through those years with a unique aroma that I have yet to come across in any strain at any point in it's ripening.

To assume that genetic line would stay pure some 30 years later is optimistic at best and foolhardy at worst - at this point some things that I've read lead me to believe that what I knew as GG might have been Jamaican or Columbian strains that were simply grown in Florida.

It had a Sativa bud structure, a pine aroma I've not smelled since and an appearance unlike any other herb I came across during those years (sticky, smelly green buds that were not compressed in any way) unlike most of the alternatives of the time. Based on what I know now, I believe that they were not sun dried and obviously not bricked for transport, hence there structure, stickiness and aroma. Honestly I would pay stupid money to smell those buds again. Curiously it was not really any more expensive than the alternatives, it was mostly a question of who you knew.

That may seem like a low bar by today's standards, but that shit was the bomb back then. An uplifting, giggly sativa high with no paranoia that was great for parties, concerts, comedy shows and TV. The last 15 bong hits from the shake in the corner of the bag would lay my ass out so I usually banked that stuff and bought a new bag until somebody wanted to have a smokeoff or a stoner gathering and then I broke out the bank to fuck people up.

I believe this was way before the Indica influences of the late 80's started to appear - I was dry from approximately 86-89 and that couple years was an eye opener for me when I started smoking again. Everything I tried was super couchlock, drooly stony herb and not at all what I was looking for. If I had laid off for 15-20 years I might have doubts about my perceptions but I doubt 2-3 years made me lose my perspective.

The first time I tried "Crippy" I asked what it was and the answer was "it's Crippy, it will cripple you" - little did I know then about shit grown unflushed indoor hydro indica that would make you believe you inhaled red hot lava and then when you had coughed up a lung, left you drooling in your lap.....

Sorry for the rant, been sick with the flu for about 3 weeks now and not smoking or drinking anything while I try to recover, Coba's comment just set me off. Glad to see somebody else call bullshit when appropriate.

p-nut, not sure brother they were a gift from a super generous friend of the FGT. The package says Mr. Nice but, those things are expensive, too expensive for a gift so, i'm assuming they are f2's ... on the A x TT I have culled two males and confirmed three females.

oh yeah I had heard about kind buds... It was the Hippy thing to call it ... along with 420. being into the Grateful Dead and going to Rainbow Gatherings in Ocala and Osceola NF and we thought that that song Uncle John's Band "are you "kind?" line meant "do you smoke pot?". I saw the GD in Orlando in '94 and got passed a pipe of some kind, that's all dude said as he passed it to me anyways... he said "it's kind" ... it was a different show after that, they played a song I hadn't heard called "Days Between" while I was throwing up in the bathroom. kind buds were strong for sure and didn't mix well with the gallon of beer I drank in the lot before the show.

edit: yup they're from Mr. Nice P, not F2's...

thank you super generous friend of the Florida Grower's Thread!

Grats on the Amnesia x TT ladies. I ended up with 1 female of each pheno. Another 2 weeks and my flower room will be empty and I can move them in there and see what kind of fire is in them. Currently at 54 days. Will begin flush on Friday...
