bucketswithsoil. that's what i'm talking about. i use to be a slave to my plants hand watering every other day in coco test meters, ph pen,up,down,high dollar chemicals and had to flush my ass off to get some of the flavor i was suppose to get.but now the girls work for me. you use more goodies than i do at this point but i am planning on trying the buildasoil for pro mix. a little pricey but i want to see what it is about.

your girls in your last post look spot on by the way. i bet they will be tasty morsolas as well.

been chatting it up with a couple buddies and cant wait for them to try it, the bucketswithsoil lets the ganja speak for its self...i couldnt believe that i once was spending $$$ on nutes for vegg,then others for flw...once i started to poke around and see what others were doing with fine tuned soil,I WAS HOOKED....

just the other day a buddy was like ,"dude what ya doing,could i use ya ph tester"..LOL, i was dieing...lol, i was like "man.....i havent fucked with that thing in so long"....like i said,mix soil,let warm,plant....i use straight water outta my aquarium,seems to work just fine, and like ya said the taste IS FOR SURE THERE,...

bucketswithsoil once your buddies give it a run they will more than likely kick them self's in the ass for not doing it sooner. if i remember correctly i use to spend about 300.00 to buy coco (canna) and the goodies to go with it not counting the investment in the ph pin and ec meter that i threw away and i spend 150.00 now day's for 45 gallon ready to go. shit that's 2 runs for most guy's. you gave me an idea i never thought about. i have 2 fish tanks well the wife does and never cross my mind to use the water. let me see if i can find a pic of the last girl i posted with her pants down a little haha

Man you guys are all looking great! Everyone swelling up so I had to get a photo in here. I'm also happy to report NO NEW YELLOWING! New leaves are also not declining any more, they have remained steady for 2 days after the serious flushing I did, seems to have solved the problem ! Thanks everyone for the suggestions and advice.

chasinggreen glad to hear things have cleared up for you. looks like the top does not have as much curl on it tells me she is a little happier.not sure what you have for a medium but just water seem to help it out. if it is only an 8 week strain just continue to do that till she needs more. keep up the good work

The last picture I posted was from the DWC setup of the SST. Everything else will be soil going forward for the next couple to dial it in.

CG IF THAT IS IN WATER I WOULD JUST KEEP ON FLUSHING HER TILL HARVEST. LOOKS LIKE SHE HAS ENOUGH TO CARRY TO THE END I WOULD THINK. YOU WANT HER TO SHOW AUTUMN COLORS AT HARVEST TO MAKE SURE THE NUTS ARE GONE IN HER. AT LEAST THAT IS WHAT I DO IN HYDRO. LOOKS GOOD

Btw CG, Chloramine does not dissipate like Chlorine does. Leaving it out won't do anything. Not sure if you knew that so passing that on.
Which do you like better soil (problem not withstanding) or dwc? Imho, DWC is really walking the razors edge; done right it outright out yields any other system/medium. But i've seen dwc make grown men cry as well, more often than not.
The furthest i've ever delved into the water was an occasional single Waterfarm and one time ebb/flow system. Ebb/flow was a complete disaster, the Waterfarm would perform more often than not but i can't afford any misses.
I'm no fool and i absolutely see the merit in water, just wish i could crack the code as i've done with coco. Mostly because i hate having to buy coco. It's cheap enough, just gotta drive to go get it. I'm a lazy stoner you know

Hey Asslover, thanks for the post. I was not aware that it doesn't come out. Either way, I'm not letting the water sit out for DWC or Soil and it's been fine. There were just a lot of variables to consider at the start and I was getting confused, making the typical mistakes of adding instead of subtracting when problems arise, etc.

I love DWC, much more than soil, but my experience with soil is limited to the last couple months.

I feel like with DWC, I can control every aspect, and I do, so my grows are fantastic. With the soil, it's a guessing game as to what's in the soil nutrient wise, and all the other factors you have to consider.

I also never had a single bug in my grow room until I started using soil. First bag, bam mites (not bad ones though) and spring tails. If I just let the soil do it's thing and stop over thinking it, I think it'll be good. I do get annoyed by the soil and not having something to do every day haha. Although, I can leave the DWC now for a week at a time, or longer if I had an external tank with a pump to feed it daily. I could leave it for 2 weeks no problem now that I have everything dialed in. It was a lot of learning, but I found the learning process easier than soil. I have a passion for science and numbers, so DWC fits.

The biggest issue I had with DWC was root rot / pythium. My res temps were 80 and that was no good. I got them down to 75 and that helps, but the bacteria would still grow. I finally added Great White and it solved the problem. The good bacteria eat the bad bacteria and the ph remains VERY stable, I love the stuff, highly recommend for anyone who can't keep their res at 68F or under.

I also developed all my own DWC systems, nothing store bought. I've built at least 10 of them by now, and if you were near me I'd give you one to try out, they just collect dust now as I upgrade each time.

I envy your skills in coco. I'm going to finish tackling soil for a few cycles then try out coco. Might do a little coco on the side for vegetables. My lettuce, spinach, etc doesn't grow NEARLY as fast in soil as DWC. In DWC I would have 4 full heads harvested by the time soil provides me with a single head, and the quality was better in DWC texture wise.

Never tried ebb and flow, I didn't like the concept, the pumps, the mess, the tray it sits in, etc. Although I hear it's easier on the roots and less chances of problems of root rot, I just never saw a setup in person that was clean and I'm a bit OCD if you can't tell. If you ever have any questions about DWC, please feel free to ask, I'd be happy to help. Now if I could just get my hands on that OSA28 sample... haha, I'm anxious to add it to the DWC setup. DWC def needs liquid silica for heat and disease resistance as there's none in the water and FloraDuo.

not to jump in the middle of the conversation but DWC is so easy, I control everything but I've never had heat issues and I don't use a water chiller. I can't remember the last time I used a PPM meter or PH. Plant just gobbles up what it needs and I change my res every 2 weeks. H202 (peroxide) to keep those pest away

I can also attest to Great white being probably my favorite root builder.

Been away for a while. Last crop died after the power failure. Haven't had a chance to buy new seed stick so popped some of my original bag seeds and got this little mutant.

It came out of the seed with 3 seed leaves and then sprouted 3 true leaves also. Will keep an eye on this one...

its a "og x bx" ogRascal thats been put on the back burner so to say,(yes im embarrassed by it)...and make it so bad ive taken like 6-7cuts from her and not a damn one rooted,(and im very well with clone takeing,not trying to toot my own horn,but i have a high rate of success most times)..so i know she not feeling so well...

gettin ready to rePot her into something bigger,and maybe top the shit outta her to get her back fired up, cause ill try my damnest not to lose her,cause her smoke is PROPER dank,thats for certain...ill get her jumpstarted and back going,and score some cuts off her....but yes CG,she does look sad,and i deserve to get back handed like a silly little child...
