@flboy the hole on the bigger one is about 2 feet wide and 2 feet deep with a mixture ffof and some other odds ands I had on hand. The smaller one had a hole dug about half that with the same mixture.

mellowfellow thanks for getting back with me. I might give it a try as the ground I have is real sandy so wasn't sure if it would make a difference if the root system got into it or I would have to amend it as well but looks like your's are doing fine. I hope you post the finish as I would like to see them

thanks again stay safe and keep it green

CG, ample air circulation is needed for the high RH. I run 65-70 day time no rot pm. I drop it a little lower at night and ~ 6wks start to lower it little by little till the end. Been trying to hit the proper vpd/temp/rh numbers of late.

Now that said, you are walking a fine line if you are unsure. As another member said, once you think you have enough air, double it again :)

My issue has been trying to get a fan to clip inside a tiny tent and circulate air across the top of the canopy. My RH is fantastic, but I know you gotta have that circulation. I see the plants "sweating" on each other when the leaves touch with no air flow. I haven't found a clip fan yet that will stay on the support poles, that would fit where I need it, etc. I only want one that oscillates though. Bigger tent, new lights, etc is on the way to solve this problem :)

Popping back to see if any fellow outdoor peeps can help me with fighting spider mites, any suggestions? I'm really not an outdoor grower. All previous grows have been indoors and have never had a problem with them. Also someone I know suggested planting companion plants like chives next to them. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Happy growing!

mellow neem oil full strength every other day. if your getting these rains maybe more often. you probably already know that every 3 or so days eggs will hatch so be consistant

Hate to say it but it's a done deal as far as those Spider Mite infected plants go. Plenty of pesticides slow them down but from my years of growing outside I've learned that nothing stops Spider Mites. HOWEVER, nature takes care of itself. Even though you have Mites the damage is minimized by the shear number of insects that love to eat them. Never failed, whenever i noticed Mites there would be lady Bugs.
But as far as getting rid of them altogether? I don't think so. I'd love to be proven wrong, for I could always use the knowledge of knowing how to permanently eradicate them.
Indoors, i had to break down once because of them. My partner had to break down 3 times in 4 years...

For the outdoor growers, a question:

If you had a plant, say... 3-4 feet tall only, outside, what would be the "radius" around the plant that you'd have to have to not worry about smelling it?

I know this is kind of a loaded quesiton, and wind conditions will matter, but is it 100 feet, a half mile, a mile, etc? I've never seen, in person, a plant outdoors, so I have no idea how the smell does outside.

To be clear, I'm talking a SINGLE plant, not a field, and not an 8ft bush. And consider that someone would not be out looking for it specifically, as that would also be a little different. I just mean that your average person would smell it within that "radius" and know what it was.

When i grew outdoors it was in my backyard. The back faces south and i had some pretty high overgrowth as cover. I always grew several plants at once, about 3-4' tall, with the neighbors' property line 7' away & the neighbors' house about 20' away from the plants. Never had an issue with smell.

Shouldn't be a problem, imo unless you're growing an orchard of trees, smell isn't a big concern, to most while growing it'll smell like most other vegetation to those unaware. Used to grow plots of 10-20 per spot up to 3' ft high finished during the drier cool months, most times in a semi urban enviroment, under power lines, undeveloped subdivisions, vacant lots, by train tracks etc. Lots of traffic, very few lost by percentage. Risk of being spotted got to me so I ended up going indoors

Guardian Mite spray....it essential oils and only have a FB outlet.

i have no experience w/the product but saw some people on another site give great reviews of it so im passing along the info.

fight bugs w bugs b/c as AL mentioned outside you cant kill 'em all. you only need to out number them w/ predator bugs.

edit: if you plant a companion plant that spider mites like treat it w/ a systemic and only treat your Cannabis plant w/a neem spray or guardian mite spray to drive them to the systemic treated plant.

id keep treated companion plants in pots so they can be treated w/systemic pesticide away from your grow then placed next to your plants.

peace
