Flok of Wi's

Flok of Wi's

Right then peeps...here we go...

...First up NZjay...know exactly what your saying regarding the sun under the long white cloud! Jesus man...that light would burn my bones if I let it...still got the tan marks to prove! Smoked some lovely Coromandel bud so know what you're saying there...Hamilton (helped a mate build a bar) came up trumps too via Raglan I think. When I hitched around I was pretty much always invited for smokes which was lovely...good way to meet peeps youwouldn't normally. Smoked a fair bit of oil too. Just want to apologise for the lack of Kiwi strain pics...got a bit excited regarding the purpling going on with the Flo's but I promise there will be a post dedicated solely to your strains...real soon... :joint:

Just been to a local festival for 3 days so my thinker's still a bit wonky.

Here's the Flo's:

Here's the Kiwi's:

Group shot (well as many as I could fit in!):

Flo 1...male?

Flo 2...male?

Flo 3...female?

Flo 3 again:

Flo 4...female?

Flo 5 (this one is just turning more and more purple...almost deep red)

Flo 5 from above (check out the purpling on the new leaves)

Flo 5...female? (please please please)

OK...so there you have it thus far. Please chip in with your sex predictions and any other advice or remarks. Getting quite excited about it all now. Just waiting for Elevator Man to drop by and give me his blessing...and maybe even the dude himself.

Peace out

Pollen

Pollen

Hey Rubba Dub,

Going to collect pollen from one Flo male (my eye is on Flo 1 for that as it is purple and vibrant in growth) and from one Kiwi Male (looks like 2 out of the three are blokes and are really exuberant Sativas).

I will then do some cross pollenating and see what happens!

Pretty confident that I have 3 Flo females (Flo's 3,4,5) which is a great result! That's one green pheno and two purple phenos (Flo 5 especially so). No idea what Flo 6 is up to yet...no sign of sex or purpling.

The unsexed Kiwi is very squat and fat so I guess could be an indica and I'm hoping a female. Would be nice if it was their Kush version so I could pollenate Flo 1 with it and create...Flush!

Still have not fed any of the plants and they seem very healthy for that. I leave the greenhouse window open all the time now and I definitely think the lower temps that induces at night is producing very favourable colourations!

I will post some Kiwi pics later today.

Out.

The Three Kiwi's

The Three Kiwi's

Ok so here are the 3 Kiwi plants. Just to recap...I have no idea what they are! Two are male and very big (2.5-3foot) and one is not showing sex yet, much more squat and filled out. I will be moving the males to sunny windows in the house for pollen collecting.

If anyone would like to add their 2pence with regards to identifying strains etc. that would be cool. Otherwise just enjoy the pics.

SORRY BUT MY PICTURES HAVE ALL SCREWED UP ON THE SERVER AND I HAVE LOST THE PICTURES I WANTED TO POST HERE!

Ok so the plants are absolutely bombing along now...getting on three foot high! Def got a green female flo and a purple one...the third is really purple and possibly hermie...should I keep it in a seperate place? Or bin it? It's the most pole like plant out of them all and the most purple.

One Kiwi male has been culled...the other kept. The third Kiwi is very bushy and taking time to show pre flowers. I also have a green male flo and purple male flo segregated.

Pictures soon.

peace out.

would be nice to hear some views.

Is this a hermie?

Is this a hermie?

Hello everybody!

Can I get some advice with regards to the following pictures? It is the most purple and sativa looking plant that I though was female but appears to be showing some male balls now too...?! Can I keep it but just somewhere else? Is it beneficial at all? Would be a shame to loose the colour of this one.

Flo 5...showing female pre-flowers

Flo 5...side branches showing balls??!

Am I right with this being a hermie? Can I still get bud and is it useful (was thinking about growing it outside away from all the girls).

Peace...

...please advise

Other than that here's a few more shots of the greenhouse grow show...

Sole remaining unsexed Kiwi (any ideas on identification?)

The four Flo's (one on left not showing sex yet, top left one is possible hermie)

The family photo:

Peace out and it would be good to get any sort of feedback?!

stoned teacher

Hummus, I'd guess #5 is female at this point...I'd have to see that ball closer to be convinced it wasn't about to pop out a little white lady hair.....but I could be wrong......

Ahhh the excitement of the first grow! Good for you and good luck!

I was as pumped as you, and lemme tell you this next three months is gonna feel like forever to you in terms of waiting for these plants!

If you're jonesing to know if they're male or female, you can cover one branch so it doesn't get light....It'll show sex in not too long.

Good luck keep it green

teacher is right man... just wait a little to make sure.
i had a plant once i grew from seed from some special weed i had... decided to see what might come of it. so i popped it, and after week 2 i thought it was gonna be a male, and thought i saw balls... i decided to wait a few more days just to make sure, and low and behold, large white hairs came out of the sack!..

she turned into a pretty good girl ive been smoking on the past few months.

just always make sure bro... i have no doubt you check them a couple times a day (most new eager growers do) so you will know for sure what sex before anything bad happens.

dude, they are looking awesome for a first time grow!! keep up the good work my man!

Promising start mate! Definitely better safe than sorry when it comes to seedlings, for me one of the hardest things to overcome with growing was my lack of patience. But hard-learnt lesson after hard-learnt lesson eventually drummed it in to me that if you're not sure about anything, it's always best to wait a few days.

Anyway, I'm hanging out to see how the Kiwi gear goes for you, I'm planning to get some of their genetics for an upcoming outdoor project.
Did you get the indoor mix or outdoor mix?

Have fun and keep safe!

All Flowing Along

All Flowing Along

Hello to all...

...just a little update for you...

...I have moved the most purple Flo outside the greenhouse now as I reckon it's a hermie but I'm quite keen just to let it do its own thing. Below are three pictures of it, the last two show the two different sexes quite clearly. I have subsequently destroyed the male pre flowers and will try to stay vigilant...

...can someone tell me if it is worth breeding in or out with a hermie? Read somewhere that it can lead to feminised seeds but 'cos I'm a newbie I'm a bit unsure.

Flo 1 Hermie (originally called Flo 1 too)

Flo 1 showing as a male

Flo 1 showing as a female

Next up are the two female Flo's still in the greenhouse. I have given all plants a prune by the way and still have not started to feed them.

Flo 2 (originally called Flo 5)

Flo 3 (originally called Flo 3)

The last one in the greenhouse is the only Kiwi female and she looks like a beauty. Really bushy, lush and thick...totally different in structure to the Flo's but definitely still with some sativa in there. She has been topped several times and seems to thrive for it. The only negative issue with this plant is that the thrps and mites and slugs really love her! But I'm on the case!

Finally I have narrowed down my male keepers to two. One is the Kiwi Sativa male pictured inside the house in an earlier post and the other is a particularly interesting male Flo. I haven't got any recent photos of this Flo but hope to post some soon. It was the last to show sex and much more indica in leaf trait and structure. It is a slower grower but much more thick set, bushier and very strong looking. It reminds me from the side of a skunk#1 plant which makes me wonder if DP have been using this strain as a breeding partner?! The only thing that appears to go against this theory is that when you rub the stem and smell your fingers...there is hardly no aroma at all!!! Very keen to collect this ones pollen and hopefully cross it with the hermie to try and get the purpling and incredibly spicy side of that Flo but the structure and I hope the yield of the Male. Any thoughts on this? And any advice?...

...or am I talking complete and utter bullshit? Probably!

Pics of Flo (Skunk) male to follow.

peace out

Any thoughts?

I must say these Flos are incredibly branchy compared to what I got, though yours are outdoors, which would help that. As for the ladyboy - welcome to my world! I've had one or two declare sex, and then completely change their minds two weeks later! Not sure what to recommend though, as it could go either way at this stage. It looks a better plant than the 'official' males though.

You should probably start giving them a light feed now - maybe half-strength nutes to see how they cope?

Cheers Eman. I will start to feed as prescribed. So you think the male keeper I chose is not so great? Can you explain why so I can learn from it?

Not sure why they're branching more than yours did...maybe because I have been topping them heavily and rotating them so they have to hunt for the sun?

Anyway, many many thanks for dropping by and gazing upon my humble grow.

Well the two Flo's in the greenhouse are f***ing bombing along! Stretched about 8-10inches in less than a week! Loads of white hairs and have started to introduce half strength food. The purple one is showing slight nute burn! Very sensitive.

The Kiwi strain is just going from strength to strength...loving the nutes and turning a lovely rich vibrant green colour. Very smelly too.

Possible crazy purple hermie Flo has adjusted beautifully to the rain/wind/sunshine that is late summer here in Blighty! Turning into a robust and hardy little beauty.

Pics to follow.
