Hey 👋
Harvested the majority of my crop ✂️
My fingers are blistered and I ache all over but it was definitely worth it 👍
I won’t say much and just let the pics do the talking 📸

It's a great feeling getting to the finish line outdoors (especially in the uk)

How long will you give the other ones, a week or 2?

Any intentions on making hash with some of it...

Weldone and enjoy the fruits of your labour.

It certainly is a great feeling ☺️
Especially after sucking the resin off my fingers 😂😵‍💫
I’ve gone to plots that were ready to chop in previous years and found them all eaten by deer 🦌
Or ripped by scumbags!🤬
It’s always an exiting and nerve wracking experience!
The remaining plants have dense nuggets which may not cope with much rainy weather so I will leave another 2 weeks max ⏰
Any that don’t finish or I can’t be arsed to trim will go straight in the freezer for hash 👌💯
Thanks for your kind words and for stopping by 👍

Hey 👋
Thought I’d add a little bit of info on each of the hybrids I grew this year and how they performed 📊
“Grapefruit Early”
IMG_5051.jpeg

The fastest to mature ⏳
Tallest plant was about 4ft 📏
Minimum amount of fan leaves 🍁
Grows in a classic “Xmas tree” shape 🌲
IMG_5176.jpeg

Buds are compact and dense and Pineapple shaped 🍍
They all developed dark purple buds 🍇
Most of them smell like Grapefruit but a couple of them are more of a Fuel/diesel with spicy/peppery tones 🌶️
Seems prone to throwing out nanas in the final stages and one hermied early into the grow 🍌
photo-output.jpeg

Despite the negatives I really do like this Hybrid 👍
Mainly because it’s stealthy 🥷
Finished early ⏳
Mold resistant 🦠
And smells and tastes great 👍
Its lineage is a bit of a mystery but it was originally gifted to me as a tester for “Hybrids from hell”.

Next up …….
“Lockdown Loco” (Hazey)
IMG_5075.jpeg

As the name suggests this hybrid was developed during 2020-21 😷
The lineage is GG#2 X Polar Dane 📊
photo-output.jpeg

A Sativa dominant plant that has extreme “Fox Tail” buds 🦊
Extremely resinous!
Tallest plant was around 4.5 foot 📏
The smell and flavour is “Hazey” Floral/fresh 😋
photo-output.jpeg

Finished 1st Sep this year because I planted out in April.
Last season I planted later and they didn’t finish until end of Sep and I lost a lot to mold 🦠
Although these are a pain to trim and don’t produce a lot of weight ⚖️
The end product is very potent and tastes quality 👌
Makes great hash so i only trim the biggest buds and freeze the rest ❄️
I’m a Haze lover so having some of this in my jars is a real treat 😍

Well looks like that’s it for another year 🏁
Returned to the plot today after 10 days since my last harvest ✂️
We’ve had some very humid and wet conditions since then and also a few heavy hail storms 🌨️
I feared the worst 😱
Upon arrival those fears were confirmed! Plants blown over unable to hold the weight of the buds in the wind 🌪️
IMG_5317.jpeg

And on some of the plants that were still standing I could clearly see Bud Rot had kicked in 🤦‍♂️
IMG_5324.jpeg

IMG_5325.jpeg

One plant that still looked healthy was one of the “23 mix” she had finished nicely and not a spec of mold 👍
IMG_5320.jpeg
IMG_5316.jpeg

IMG_5314.jpeg

I also managed to get a few lower buds unefected by mold from the other plants and a load of unfinished bud for the ever increasing hash bag 👜
IMG_5321.jpeg
IMG_5319.jpeg

It wasn’t the ideal end to the season but I have already exceeded my target with Aprox 7oz of dried trimmed bud so far ⚖️
And I expect to be making a good few batches of hash over the winter to help keep me warm ☃️🔥
That’s what it’s all about 👍

I wasn’t going to do an update on the last visit because I thought “Who wants to see mouldy bud & damaged plants?”
But I think it’s important to show the good and the bad sides of GG here in the UK ✅❎
From my previous update 10 days ago people may think it was a “Perfect” grow and quite easy 👌
But this just goes to show it’s Not easy and disappointment is to be expected at some point during the grow ☹️
For me it’s all part of the process, I mean I could just plant proven strains that will finish early and not give me any problem's👍
But where’s the fun and learning in that!? 🤣

Unfortunately we can’t control all the elements that the outdoors has to throw at us, especially in your neck of the woods..

You done well considering, enjoy the fruits of your labour, you deserve it..

Autumn has arrived here 🍂
We had the first light frost this morning ❄️🥶
I’m glad I don’t have any plants still out there! 🌿
Believe it or not I have harvested plants mid October and even later in the past!
I don’t miss those days! 😂
I owe a big thanks to the people who introduced me to the world of Northern genetics 🧭🧬
Esben from Hybrids from Hell being my main influence and inspiration 😈👌
Anyway all the hard work is done now for another year and it’s time to relax and enjoy the fruits of my labour 😌🧘‍♂️

Hey 👋
Following on from my previous post ✉️
I thought I’d just show you how I make my own hash 🔥
Now this is a very “Ghetto” method and any connoisseurs may want to look away⚠️

#1 I use a bucket with a lid 🪣
Add my trim then water then lots of ice 🧊
IMG_5609.jpeg
IMG_5610.jpeg

#2 I place the lid on firmly and spin the bucket around for as long as I can 😵‍💫
Rest a while then repeat….then repeat as many times as I can before the ice melts 💦
#3 In between spinning the bucket I prepare my stuff which consists of ….
A Pyrex (Glass) bowl.
IMG_5611.jpeg

A plastic bowl with the bottom cut out. (Could use a funnel)
IMG_5612.jpeg

A small length of aquarium tubing.
And last but not least a pair of ladies Tights/Stockings!
IMG_5614.jpeg

#4 Once the ice has melted and my arms have nearly dropped off 💪
I stretch the stockings over the plastic bowl 🥣
IMG_5617.jpeg

#5 Then I take as much of the trim as I can out of the bucket giving it a squeeze before I put it back in a bag ready to be re frozen 🥶
#6 Then I carefully pour the remaining water through my screen and into the glass bowl….
IMG_5618.jpeg

IMG_5623.jpeg

As you can see your left with a cloudy/muddy looking water ⬆️
#6 Leave the water to settle for an hour or so ⏱️
You can see the Trichomes settle on the bottom of the dish if you shine a light through 💡
IMG_5626.jpeg

#7 After it has settled I use a small length of Aquarium hose to carefully siphon the water out from the surface.
Standing the bowl on a draining board and running the pipe into the sink 🚰
IMG_5632.jpeg

I work my way from the surface to the bottom carefully trying not to disturb it.
The aim is to remove as much water as I can without removing any Triches!
IMG_5634.jpeg

#8 Once I’ve removed as much water as I can I then leave the bowl in a well ventilated warm area over night 🌙
IMG_5636.jpeg

#9 Next day I’m left with a dry toffee consistency hash covering the bottom of the bowl 🥣
IMG_5637.jpeg

#10 Using a palette knife I scrape the hash into clumps and form into a block using my fingers 👌
IMG_5638.jpeg

The final result is a couple of grams of my Home Made Bubble hash 😋
IMG_5639.jpeg

It’s not the purest hash in the world and I can only process small amounts at a time but that suits me just fine 👍
I get multiple runs out of each seasons trim ✂️
All from something that some people would consider “Trash”
🚮🪴
