So I got my HPS Growlux bulb today and let me say this damn thing is crazy bright.

To be exact it is 22,000 lumens brighter than the MH bulb.

So would it be better to just veg the plants under this or is the MH bulb still better for that even though it lacks 22,000 lumens?

I think I can see the preflowers but I am not sure I wish my camera was able to take a good pic of them.

I will get more pics up soon.

For first time grow, it looks like you are doing everything right so far. I see what looks like a little nute burn on a some leaf, but from the looks of it - you recovered it as soon as you noticed (practice makes perfect). You mentioned you used miracle grow. It's a brand that tends to have fert mixed in the soil. That contributes to alot of guesswork on adding ferts. But looks like you found the inbetween sweet spot.

As for flowering time, it's a personal preference also dictated by grow space and personal time schedule. The sizes of yours is about when "I" begin flowering - I like to start their cycle when they're around 12 inches tall - pending their hardiness. But everyone is different and we can only give advice in what we do personally and what works for us.

Be prepared for that stretch, they tend to grow about 3 times in size when flowered - strain and conditions pending. This is just my personal opinion, but from my experience I would go up the next size in pot to allow the roots more space.

I give ya 2 thumbs up.:yes: They look good.

Well the weird thing about those spots is that i did not fert within the last 5 days so how could it be nute burn.

I dont know why this damn digital camera wont take good close ups. They just get super blurry and you cant see anything.

Its a Sony Cyber-Shot 6.0 Mega Pixel

More Light!!!

More Light!!!

I have 5 42watt CFL's that I used when I first started this grow. I decided that it was just a waste to have them collecting dust so I put three of them in the grow. I put them towards the bottom the plants so that maybe the lower branches could recieve more light and the maybe the plant would benefit from the full spectrum.

Is this just a waste of 126 watts or is it a good idea?

This takes my total wattage to 526 watts and 66,100 lumens.

Oh I only pay 7 cents a Kwh so energy cost is not that important.

I grew bagseed on my first couple of grows. Some plants turned out really nice and some sucked. That's what you get when it comes to bagseed. Those are some indica dominant looking plants you got there.

Little update

Little update

Ok so I must just be lucky because all three of my plants turned out to be girls. The big one is flowering a little quicker maybe just because she was vegged a lot longer. Its funny though how all these seeds came from the same bud and yet they all look so much different. I wish my freaking camera did not suck so bad so I could show you the pistils(SP?)

Not to be a negative person or anything like that,I just know this from my bagseed grows.Herms are so prevalent getting a pure female is almost lucky make sure and check with a magnifying glass and keep and eye all the way through. If you find male flowers you can stay on top of them

Well, here is the bad news!

I woke up the other morning to the sound of people in my aptartment. I about had a heart attack so i looked out and it was a maintenace group installing a new thermostat. I guess they dont knock or call or anything. So they left but the grow room is right next to the thermostat. The door was closed thank god but I still dont know is maybe they looked. I decided it was just not worth the risk so I had to destroy the whole grow. I was 20 days into flowering and they were beautiful. I am so sad now I want to cry.

My my ladies rest in peace.
