great idea about the lights, I would think it would benefit them as well.

Looking great, makes me want to do a run of autos..... maybe this spring for a summer harvest:tiphat:

That is like me - 5-6 days,dying to c the girls! :)

Out of interest...why 12/12? Only ever heard of one auto-strain like that, is this similar? Just very curious, as I have come across mostly 20/4 or 24...even though I like them to have a little dark, so will settle for 16-18 hrs :)

You can run autos whatever you want lol. I ran 24 hours for a bit, then 18:6, and now 12/12 some people say longer dark peruods torwards the end of there life will help with resin production!

Lol, even on window sills in british weather and winter light hours (9-10) one can still pull it off...the beauty of autos!! ;)
Heard about the dark period for resin as well...very curious! ;)

Honestly the only way to know would to be run side by side same plant same variables. Lol

I'm curious about doing a side by side LED vs mh/hps

I adore any scientific comparison! Of course, many outcomes will be specific to the grower carrying them out, but they are just soooo much fun!

YA I tend to like them also! Maybe when I move into my new place I'll run one. Right now just gonna finish the autos and run a hydro that should be finished by the time I move lol

So one of my plants is coming up to the end. Starting to see the hairs get a little darker color here and there. And looks like there gonna start curling here soon.

My question ( since never done soil ) how do I flush them? Do I just water the shit out of them? So there's a lot of extra run off?

This one I know very well - yay, i can return one of the advises!!! ;)

Ok, so opinions do vary a little, as some say that senescence occurs naturally and there is no need to flush your plants, although this tends to be truer if organic ferts only have been used throughout.

Others, myself included, prefer giving a final few heavy waterings with just water. My opinion is that this could flush any excess salts which had formed (although in most soil grows with organicnutrients these tend to be minimal.

Incidentally, you probably know already, but with some auto strains colour of hairs and/or trichomes is not the teller on when they are ready - the leaves are what give it away, the plant going into natural senescence. I have seen quite a few tests on various forums - if you need more info, let me know, i do not want to teach granny how to suck eggs! :D

She is just yummie!!! :) :)

Would growing it longer have a negative effect?? Just asking coz it looks like the leaves are still very green, even the fan ones, which to my mind means that the plants are still not in final stage? I know it also depends on high one wants to achieve, so just curious (again! ;) )

Oh I'm not chopping any time soon lol. Just curious about flush stage, I think she has a good 2 weeks left? Maybe? Lol maybe a bit longer.

usually with photo's i let them tell me when the time is right, by yellowing of the fans....then flush for two wks or so.
but its really up to the grower and like said before what is preferred.

Looking great though!:tiphat:

As he said, mostly down to taste preferred and high.

with phenos, as a rule of thumb (like almost everything as strains can be soooo different!) we say they're ready @80% trichomes right? The equivalent rule of thumb for autos appears to be for most/all of the bud leaves to have yellowed (fan leaves even fall off in this period).

As you know, my first auto grow as well, but it's just what I have got from all the research (loads, i cannot believe it myself sometimes!! Yet still ignored the hot soil recommendations...but that is another story! :) ).

Personally, i tend to be an early cutter :) (phenos, 30-50%), so for my grow I plan to start flushing just before all fan leaves are yellow. :)

Ya Autos are being difficult for me to judge. I had a buddy look at mine he said 2 weeks or less. but the leaves are green as can be, very dense though and super crystally. Gonna check the trichs again in a couple days.

The other ones well im not sure whats gonna happen. I have 1 that I think i trimmed to many leaves off, its not thickening out and the leaves are drooping hard!

The one that I LST is filling out and starting to see frosty, but not sure whats gonna happen. Live and learn I guess lol. There all standing up and filling out daily so I guess we will see. Ill post individual pics tomorrow!!

So Heres a pic of all 5. Not doing so hot, havent really had the time going off shore fishing, work etc to watch them closesly. And this is the result, these were more of a project so not a huge deal. Dont think im gonna be able to recover them as they are autos and have a set clock. But heres a few pics
