there is strains out there that dont give off much smell at all while growing
1.5l every two days my plants are at a litre a day each lol
i use bio bizz and feed with it all the time although i also add pk13 14 during flowering for the last 3 weeks before flush
definitely going in the right direction tho
well done

:thank you: gizmo, i only use grow, bloom, aloe, calmag and epsom, i buyed the indespensable to grow in my pov spending the less money possible, i will see in the future if i will add something else. Im interested in algamic and in bioheaven only, but the heaven is particularly expensive

Im still dialing the watering, im afraid of give them to much but i also feek they can get more cause today i gave them 1.5l slowly and not a single drop of run off so dunno if i should water then more or not honestly, i try to see by sticking my finger and by the weight of the pot, but its kinda hard for a 1st timer as you know..

Do you use their soil too?
Did you find your girls lacking or too much of anything with their feeding schedule?if you feed them by it of course

Peace :tiphat:

My last two CandyCane Autoflowers had very little smell at all.
I had to stick my nose right up to the buds to smell them, but once they were dried and in the jar, they smelt awesome, and tasted great too.

Thanks Sampas.

It has almost no smell either, just a smell of vegetation. (I don't know kale smells like. Lol)

Reiko's two window plants had almost no smell either, but they smell great in the jars now.

I remember growing something a few years ago and it stunk up the whole house.
It was actually a bit unpleasant smelling it all day long.

Its not me that sense the smell of kale, is one of the persons that leave with me, i dont even smell anything kkkkk

Well if they all grow without smell and then they develop it, at least we dont spend money on scrubers kkkkk

I'm really liking growing with coco coir and chemical nutes.

It's just so easy, and I can't overwater.

I mix up 2 liters of water, with 1/2 tsp of maxibloom, 1/2 tsp of calmag, and 22 drops of PH up and water the plant.

The plant gets everything it needs, and I don't have to worry about deficiencies or nute burn.

I've still got a healthy bioherd with enough organic material for them because of the dead roots from the last plant.

It's really easy to grow now but not at the expense of the plant by me being lazy or cutting corners.

This plant looks perfectly happy and healthy.

In the middle of my last plant, I finally went to my nute suppliers website and found a feeding chart and realized it was only getting half of what it needed.

It was pale and sickly looking but greened right up when I doubled the nutes.

hey sampas
at the moment i'm using john innes 2 with nothing added(ran out of perlite in lockdown lol)and to be honest its the best my plants have ever grown
i dont trust the finger in soil method as the soil could be dry in the middle water till you see run off
i use root juice biogrow bio bloom and top max follow the biobizz schedule i add pk13/14 midway through flowering at around 2ml/l
up until flush time
personally i've always found the biobizz nutes to be very forgiving with the plants(i used canna products before and fried my plants lol)
but i still class myself as a newbie even tho i got a good few grows behind me
your doing well with your grow tho and every grow you know more lol

Hmm gizmo those john innes looks good, i searched the product, maybe the john in 3 is good for us?they advertise 4 months of feed with the 3, thats seems pretty good i think

The way i water is slowly, just a bit at the time and not splashing the water there and the pot becomes really heavy, i used to just pour the water there to be fast and i found that the water would run off but the pot was very light when i finished.

:thank you: gizmo

It's a bit expensive initially, but it lasts forever.
I bought mine in May of 2019 and still have at least 3/4 of it left.
It should easily last me 5 years and doesn't spoil or have a shelf life.

I start my plant with no nutes then start nuting when she has 2 full sets of leaves, then I just follow the chart and nute all my water at every watering.
I also have Calmag that I start using when she starts to flower, but the Maxibloom has calcium and magnesium as well as everything else the plant needs.

If you are using nuted soil, you have to continually watch the plant for signs of deficiency to know when to start nuting, and probably have to guess what nutes are deficient, and by the time she starts to show a deficiency, she's already stressing.

I had the exact same problem.
I was sticking my finger in the soil and using a moisture meter.
The meter would read dry, then I would push it in 1/2" deeper and it would read too wet.
I tried weighing my cooler but it was jammed into my closet and really cumbersome to lift and always weighed a ton because it was so big.
So, I bought a bathroom scale to put under my cooler to give me a reading.

But before I got the bathroom scale installed, I switched to Coco Coir and perlite, and I no longer had to worry about watering.

Now I keep her wet all the time and will water her up to 5 times a day, although I water a seedling gently until she's bigger.

The Coco is reusable which saves money and its a renewable resource made out of a waste product where peat bogs that took thousands of years to create are being deplted, so I like that part too.

I don't worry about my Rhizosphere or bioherd because they get reused every grow and propagate themselves if they have some organic matter to eat, so no need to continually add more.

I had originally thought that chemical nutes would kill my bugs and bennies, but apparently that isn't true.
Its the same difference whether you use organic or chemical nutrition.

So right now I think what I have is a "transitional" grow that's both hydroponic and organic.

It's really easy to grow with, and allows me to both KISS and LITFA, which I guess is a bit boring.
I don't have all kinds of dials and probes and sensors and special teas to play with and all I can do is just sit in my chair and stare at the plant.
It's like watching grass grow. Lol

I think I'm going to splurge and treat my plant to a Grub Grenade in the spring to get the best soil mites to inoculate my soil.

They can't deliver to my mailbox in the winter because the freezing temperatures will kill the mites.

5 times a day?god you cant leave the house kkkkkk

For now i will use what i have till i learn a bit more about everything in general, i have so many threads about so many subjects in my browser that i loose myself but i want this to be the most autonomous way possible in the future and thats why im reading avout everything, auto watering etc in the lowest cost possible, i just want to let them grow and open my cab and see them happy without me doing much, that way i can make a balanced life with my misses, since ahe doesnt like me to grow i cant be much time around my plants and also im lazy so kkkk

Well i guess we all go to the "same" journey kkkk

Yeah, but I only water it once out of every five times I open the closet and check it. Lol

Yeah, I'm doing the same thing.
I've got a whole bunch of LED strips as well as my "soil" and nutes now and I'm just going to stick with that.

I've gone off on a tangent of "research" many times and got completely overwhelmed. Now I just ignore all the info and concentrate on what I've got, and try not to mess with stuff too much.

I like the autonomous approach but don't like the automated approach.
If I tried to have mechanized automatic watering, I'd end up flooding my house.
Right now, I can easily put 4-6 liters of water in my planter and the plant would be good for more than 2 days.
What ever can go wrong, will go wrong, so I don't want to give Murphy any more acces to my plant than he has to have. Lol

Well i guess we all go to the "same" journey kkkk

We're on the same journey but we are starting from opposite ends of the road.
You did 10-15 years of research before you grew your first plant.
I knew nothing at all when I started growing.
I didn't know that you don't smoke boys or leaves, and only smoke the buds, or that you turn your lights to 12/12 to get it to start flowering.
I had never heard of an Autoflower.

I had a friend come over and stuck a clipping into my cooler filled with MG potting mix.

It did grow through, and I ended up with something to smoke.

While checking Amazon for the nutes that I use, I noticed KoolBloom available to go along with my basic nutes.
So I checked the feeding chart on the website and thought that I should go for it.

There are other things recommended for root growth, aroma, vigor, etc. but I didn't want to get too carried away.

My calmag is half gone, so I decided to buy a twin pack of calmag and KoolBloom.

$64 with the tax.
Not too bad, and I'm not drunk so I shouldn't regret my purchase. Lol

Day 36

Day 36

My auto seems a bit wider in the last 2 days and i found that the branches under the philips sil that is 8w 800lm get blue while the others under the other weaker bulbs do not, i switched the 8w place and raise it the most i can, 3cm difference only. At the same distance the philips one reads 33k lux and the others 24k, quite a difference
I tucked the big leaf that was covering all of the center budsites, everything is getting direct light now, but she still not growing equally in every branches, the the branches from the second node are quite a bit underdeveloped compared to the others, not worry, but is cool to notice it and to write it down

Mrs skunk seems to be good after the topping from yesterday, all perky, praying hard to the gods searching for light i ear the angels singing and everything
good light green new growth and from one day i see more growth in the remaining branches compared to the other days before the topping wich i think is a sign of a healthy plant(?)

Both of them

Also i cuted the big leafs from the clones, while not necessary, half of the finger were in the water and i dont want it so, choppy choppy time

sampas trust me after a couple of grows you'll just water and forget them and let them get on with what they do
as i was told "remember they are weeds" as i learned through grows they are actually quite hard to kill
patience and observation are really the keys to good growing
seperate pots for each plant makes life a lot easier
we all have started growing in strange ways but they all work lol
my original grow room(cupboard in a bedroom with cfls) no extraction no filters lol i learned
picture.php

but for £200 i got a new tent 600w hps with an adjustable ballast and a 5" filter and fan

so we all evolve and so will you after all look at the plants your growing just now
keep up the good work

This girls, nothing new, its boring, im just always seeing if they are well fed, check environment parameters and nothing more, btw temps and rh on point 24c rh 40% what could i ask better without many air movement?

The left one have the pistils much more flufy compared to the other one, is growing much nicely but the right one started to put out a better development since 2 days ago yesteday was feeding day and i push it quite a bit, i double the feeding, trying to give them equal ammounts of nutes, they didnt respond baddly so i will keep doing it like this and up more a bit, they are 2 in the same pot i need to remember that. Dunno if im doing it good or not but i guess i will find out as the days pass by.

The pot is a bit on thd heavy side, i dont want it to be completely dry until the next watering but i dont want to overwater it so im trying to find that sweet spot in weight.

Peace :tiphat:

Thanks bro, im very pushy with myself, if im going to do something i will do the best possible or the best i can do it, im stubborn, i dont quit thats one of the reasons i write so much, it helps me think about the things and what not, and of course, to read it later.

Im kinda of affraid of hps, but i want to try some 250w or 150w, maybe in the next winter, but what i would really like is a 75w cmh to go along with my sils and for the size of my grow, i guess it would be good in the winter..
In the summer is impossible here
