I picked up some Dyna-Gro Pro-Tekt Silica. My plant soil is dry and i need to water that can i give it tea at half strength before i do my foliar spray? Or should i just use filtered water for my soil and spray afterwards? Also the bottle says its 0-0-3 my plants outside are still in veg. spraying with this stuff won't make them wanna flip over will it? Thanks

I foliar with protekt once a week during veg. I also use as an emulsifier for things like neem. Works great and It's never triggered flowering for me.

Do you use Dyna Gro pure neem oil? and do you or can you mix them both? as a foliar feed ?

u can use dyna-gro neem oil for insect control not feed, but there is a better one out there from Ahimsa. its got alot high PPM of Azadirachtin which is the compound that is the most active against insects. neem oil is for insect control although the neem seed meal does have NPK profile that feeds the plant when used in a soil mix.

What are you going to use to spray with? I would also like to try some foliars this year but I won't have huge plants so Im not sure what would be my best option.

Make sure you emulsify the neem before spraying - I always go light on the dosage with neem, and the other horticulture oils, unless there is a visible need for it - eg mites, mildew, etc.

If you are introducing a first time foliar to a plant, and this goes for any nutrient/product, use a very diluted mix and gradually decrease the dilution ratio to make sure the plant and leaf surface can handle the nutrient. Mixing up hot batches of foliar is easiest way to ruin a season.

I'd also advise using a more robust foliar program than just silica - something for all the macros, micros and beneficials.

I was just going to use the silica and water, its been getting really warm in my neck of the woods. The plants seem to be liking the heat so far knock on wood. I have been spraying ever since they been outside with azamax and once with BT there is no burning of leafs. I see its really concentrated only 1/2 tsp. per gallon of water?
