First time breeding - strain questions, blue/purple phenos, seedbanks, etc....

Saw this and was going to suggest BOG LSD as your possible base strain then find others to mix in as you like.

If you order from the boo/bay, request Blue Sat 2.2 as your freebies.

If you want C99, wait for Mr Soul to re-release his original C99 next year.

For Sweet Skunk I'd check out Chimera varieties. He recently released a few SS crosses that are all getting rave reviews. He also has a few of his old Blueberry crosses that have been popular in the past (not to be made again due to loss of breeding stock).

been busy soaking up all the info and getting closer to getting the right seeds/genetics for my project.

PeakseedsBC remains the clear frontrunner as Mike made a great offer.

I am looking at 20-30 Blueberry from them along with 10-20 Sweet Skunk and 20-30 C99.

Thing with PeakseedsBC is that Mike also mentioned he already did crosses. I could get C99xBB, SSxC99 and SSxBB (some tested, some not).

Question is, buy 20-30 seeds from the "original" 3 strains and cross myself or buy peakseedsBC's crosses directly and plant those? hmmm
Im leaning towards the 20-30 seeds from the BB, SS and C99 and crossing myself ...



Next up on my list were Bubblegum and "the right" Sativa for crossing ...


For Bubblegum I landed with BOG (BOG Bubble or Sour Bubble). Problem is, getting the seeds. I mailed BOG directly and was told to use gtaseedbank as they were official resellers and recently stocked up. I think BOG doesn't send outside the US directly. Might ask him again though.
13 seeds of ONE of BOG's strains would run me 85$ plus maybe shipping through gtaseedbank... Pricey ...
TH seeds bubblegum was suggested to me as another alternative. But again, 10 seeds around 80 bucks...

I am aware that I will pheno hunt no matter what genetics I purchase so going with "only" 10(13) seeds seems a no-go for me. 20-30 seeds is already on the very low side to go pheno hunting but I would just purchase more seeds from the same strain if I didn't find my phenotype in the 20-30 beans (unless the beans were all disappointing).

This in mind, I looked at Nirvana's Bubblelicious again.
It seems to receive generally good reviews and with a bit of pheno hunting, finding the Bubblegum taste/smell/flavor should be feasible. It also seems to have stronger "purple" tendencies than any other bubblegum related genetics out there (?).
The Kicker is that Nirvana is currently running a sale on Bubblelicious with 10 seeds for abut 15$....
So I could get 20-30 Bubblelicious seeds for 30-45$ which is more reasonable to me than 85$ for 13 seeds or 75$ for 10 or whatever.

What do you guys think?


In Terms of Sativa strains for my crossing projects I am still a little in the dark...
I think what Sativa I am looking for will become more transparent once I worked my way through the BB, SS, C99 and Bubblelicious.

I will probably look towards a fruity, sweet and cerebral/euphoric/creative/up high sativa. Possibly some serenity effects too (might have to go to 2 different sativa strains for all these characteristics).


ACE Seeds seems like a great starter in that direction and the Malawi or Panama seem like good ideas. But also a bit pricey...

Currently I am thinking to get the 3 strains from pekseedsBC and have basically everything I am looking for in there (aside from the bubblegum and possibly certain Sativa characteristics).

So get the Blueberry, Sweet Skunk and C99 from peakseeds (20-30 seeds each) and supplement that by 20-30 Nirvana Bubblelicious for the Bubblegum side of things.

I think I should be busy then for a year or 2, maybe 3 and then look towards ACE seeds or other sources for more pure Sativa genetics.


I don't think I will wait for MR Soul to re-release his Brother's Grimm strains. Sounds tempting and all but I have a gut feeling that the price per seed will be in the 5-10$ area and I am currently looking into the 2-5$ per seed segment.

I am not completely averse to pay 5$ plus per seed (still considering the 6+$/seed for BOG's gear) if the genetics are "worth" it...

But to take the Bubblegum example: It seems more sensible to me to pay 1,5$/seed and buy 2-3 times the amount of Nirvana over 1 13 seed pack of BOG gear and hoping that my pheno is among the females in that 1 pack...


This thread here was my starter as I wanted to make sure I got the right genetics first. I also kept looking into room setups, equipment, DIY stuff, breeding in general etc.

I will open a new "project" threat soon where I will include my findings from this threat and go through my planning/staging/setup process with you guys and hope to continue to receive such valuable feedback/oppinions/knowledge as I have so far here.

They are also within the up to 5$ per seed range so I shouldn't call them pricey I guess...

PeakSeedsBC just set me a new bar for price/quality ratio and I am comparing everything to them now....

I just browsed the ********* to cross of Chimera seeds from my list or see if they had something I really wanted and I stumbled upon their listing of Jordan of the Islands strains...

43$ per 10 pack and JOTI has strains like Blue AK 47 (BlueberryxAK47), Blue Diesel and God AK 47....

Especially the Blue AK 47 is basically what I wanted at the start of this thread... Jordan of the Islands seems like a quite reputable grower and I usually see his gear much higher priced. Finding him in the sub 5$ per bean category makes me think again about everything...
