First sog

nice looking grow old tree its very similiar to a perpetual sog i used to have before issues beyond my control caused me to shut it down. i found a lot of lil tricks that improved my yield that may work for you as well. i was only running one strain. it was the fire cut of og and man it would knock your socks off. i had that grow going for a lil over a year and had it dialed in perfect. every week i would pull 6 plants and add 6 plants. when i first started i kept a mom around for clones but as i went along i found that when i grew the clones straight up from rooting they would yield about 9 to 11 gs a plant. then i tried a new method of cloning from my clones creating two main colas with one week of veg before i went 12/12 and the yield went to 18 to 24 gs a plant. i was using 2 liter coke bottles with some homemade soil. i used 50% topsoil and 40% sphagnum peat moss and 10% perlite.
dont be intimidated by the larger grows you see here. the love of this fine plant is shared by all here and these smaller grows are cool as hell to follow. keep up the good work imma pull up a seat and see you through till the end if you dont mind.

i almost forgot that after i topped them in order to keep both tops inside the diameter of the coke bottles so i didnt get over crowded i used clothes pins right above where the two main branches came off the stalk. hope this helps

Yeah the multi-strain made it alot more difficult. I have a couple sativa hybrids that are stretching like crazy. I have to tie one down today with a couple zip ties. Like an upside down J. lol. We will have to see what it looks like when it finishes.

Not much new. Everybody is filling out quite nicely. We are around five weeks. The lemon skunk is on a 2 week cleanse. lol. I have grown them all the way to sixty-five days but it had to much back end always puts me to sleep. 50 days ought to be right where I want it. The haze is taking it's sweet ass time. I'm guessing at least 6 more weeks. The plants from seed are still a week or so behind the haze. Staggered harvest.

I am going to start flushing the haze in a day or two. That will be a larger harvest. Some of the buds will be wispy for sure. If I were to do another sog I would do 10 tops. Veg for a while and train them.
Anyhoo... I will put up a few pics of them when they are cured, along with an update.
The plants from seed are looking great. They are really fattening up.

I just found your thread. Im stoked looks damn good for cfls. Im switching my scrog over to a sog next run if I can get enough clones together. Thanx for all the pics and updates. Even with out more responses a lot of people enjoyed the grow man, Keep it up. Ill continue to watch

So your cab is running on a 60 day cycle? any guess on weight?

It's my first sog. More like a mad experiment. I wish I had only clones that would have been great. I had 3 skunks, 2 c99, and 7 or 8 purple haze. The rest are fem's from seed.
I guess you could call it 60-100 day cycle. lol. I am going to run Grape Krush from dj short next as a breeding project.

Clones are the go for SOG'S. All you need are mums and a solid reliable cloning method. Do only one strain per SOG so the heights are not to variable. I do 4 per sq/ft, 36 clones in a 3x3 tray, 1000W over it, clones straight on to 12/12 single cola style, works well. But your grow is just fine, a good learning experiment.

Top broke on this plant so I made a clean cut below the break and turned her loose. She's doing alright now.

The herm. It happens with bagseed. If you look at the picture full size you can see the nanners. I tapped one with the blade of my scissors and pollen tumbled out. I trimmed it and it is starting to cure as we speak.

everything is still lookin good man. I was wondering what your using for your grow medium? i seen one in straight perlite but what do you have the others in?

I wanted to try growing a couple ways so a few of them are growing in perlite with soil on top. The result is the same. Soon I will be using hydroton, then perlite, then soil. Trying to come up with the perfect medium for my applications.
The lemon skunk is coming along nicely. Here are a couple pics of them and my phone to show relative size. I dont have a scale so no idea on weight...

Lemon skunk...
Smells like sour citrus. When I greens'd a fresh bowl there was a very sweet taste on inhale. The exhale was grassy, sour lemon taste, with sandalwood undertones. Needs a week or two for the terpines to do their thing.
The high. You have to understand that this is a potent strain. I pulled it a full week early to prevent the almost narcotic effect it has on me...
First hit. Immediately you feel a warm rush over your body. Second hit. The taste is more complex. hints of jasmine? Perception slows. You begin to feel the effects.
Third hit. Took a big one. Coughing. As I lay back I close my eyes and my mind begins to drift. Body feels extremely heavy. That sour smarties taste is still in my mouth.
Fourth hit. Losing track of time. Feels like the first hit was a thousand years ago. lol. I am feeling the full effects of the first hit. total time fifteen minutes.
Again I lay back.
Ten minutes later I pick up the controller and lay some siege on some cod. I think to myself as I am playing. "fuck I am stoned."
Fifth hit. In retrospect not the best idea. lol
I sit there for five minutes...just staring at my controller, bugging out about the funny thoughts in my head.
At this point the high feels very narcotic. It is like a blanket. I even feel medicated. Physical movement feels labored.
It is one of my favorites. But only for light wake and bake and sleepytime. lol
When I smoke this girl at night she puts me right out. You can concentrate and stay awake but if this bud catches you slipping you will wake up at 5 o'clock in the morning on the couch. lol
