First HID Light Purchase

I've got a couple CFL micro grows under my belt, but would like to start using my 2 PC boxes as veg/clone/mom units and build a larger flower box.

So, I'd like to pick up a remote ballast HID setup but am not sure where I should buy it from. We have a local hydro shop here, but after reading some horror stories (surveillance, etc) I won't go anywhere near it.

Anyone have a recommendation for a good online retailer with discreet packaging? (no "GROW LIGHTS" shit on the label, etc)

Also, I'm looking for a ~400 watt setup, maybe less. What brands would you recommend? My understanding of HID setups is rather limited as I've only dealt with CFLs so far.

In any case, thanks for your input in advance!

depends on the country your in. jus google them and order from a supplier that mentions discreet packaging and does not mention cannabis anywhere on their site jus to b safe

The Lumatek 400 watt digi ballasts are really nice, main reason is you can run a 250 watt bulb or 400 just change the dial on the side. Also runs MH/HPS which is perfect.

I LOVE my Cooltubes. They let me get MUCH closer to the light without issues, and they help me lower the temps a lot.
I would only use those as a reflector \ hood. (or other air-cooled hoods. The water\oil cooled hoods are far out of my reach)

light - I like my Sylvania GrowLux. I got the 400 and 600W and they work great.
Its a mixed spectrum so you don't have to change bulbs if you veg or flower.

ballast - digital ballasts are said to longer your bulb life and get quite a bit more light out of it. However - they can interfere with cell phones reception.
I don't like the risk of getting caught because my neighbor filed a complain to the cell company about reception issues and they traced it down to my house.
I use the magnetic ones.
If you don't have close-by neighbors you would probably want to go with the digital ones.
