first grow: small cfl dwc (bubbler) LowRyder#2

Hi, first grow and would appreciate your advice!

Specs
-(1) one gallon buckets (holds .65 gallons of water)
-(4) 42W 6500K light bulbs, 2800 lumens each (veg)
-(4) 40W 2700K light bulbs, 2600 lumens each (flowering)
-GH nutes with lucas formula
-lowryder #2 fem

Last image is from day 3/4. They dont look very happy as leaves drape down and look dry, along with a bit of yellowing on one leaf probably due to overwatering of the rockwool. Cab is getting way too hot 86-90F, w/only one cfl light on, but exhaust fan should be coming soon. I fed it some light nutes and ppm is around 100. The pH is at 6.4 and has been something I've been having a hard time trying to control. I need a pipette to make administering amounts easier...

dose'nt look to happy i was told not to give them nutes to start of with just water for the first week or two hope you manage to get it going cheers

yeah dont use nutes till they get bigger......and fyi 250w of hps(29,000lumen) = more lumens then your cfls, right now your running 320w(21,600lumen) of cfl...400w hps is 50,000 lumens might want to upgrade soon unless this is just a veg cab.......im a fan of less power more lumens..

yes, their size has somewhat halted but im not sure if its due to heat or the nutes...

I was told to feed them a light nutrient solution once they had their first set of true leaves, about 1/4 in size. This is info from pipedream himself. Should I start off with a new res?

Could be one could be both, Make sure you run through everything you have done trace your steps,never look at the problem as a single format at first,single the problem out through steps,often you will find there are things you missed simply because you missed them.

If the rockwool is to drenched the little root inside there will rot.Just a heads up.

Good luck, Remember, Try get the guys as close to the light as possible,if you have no exhaust yet,at least try get something to softly blow on them under the CFL's and you will see what I mean.

Thanks for the suggestions, they look a lot better today. The ppm dropped so I'm guess the plants are enjoying the light nutrient solution. In other news, I received my exhaust today and it helped greatly. When placing my thermometerunder my plants/cfls, the temperature goes all the way to the 95 degrees, but the general grow room temp is 85.

Some questions..
1) there seems to be some kind of translucent circle/hole in one of the seedling leaves.. Any idea on what this could be?
2)Is it ok to put these autoflower seedling in 18/24 or 20/24 hour light? My room gets extremely hot in the mid day and I'm trying to not put anymore heat stress on these plants.

1. Could be bugs,or burn.

2.I have never used an autoflowering strain but Im assuming it wouldnt matter as they are autoflowering plants. just a guess.

Could you get a pick of the hole for me?

Hydro cheat sheet:
Ec/PPM goes up, PH goes down=plants require less nutes.
Ec/PPM goes down, PH goes up=Plants require more nutes
Ec/PPM stable, PH goes up=Equilibrium=Good thang.

I found this on a forum, is it accurate?

I changed the res last night (pH 6.1 and 80 ppm). I checked again this afternoon, about 8 hours later, and find out the ppm hasn't changed but the pH shot up to 7. Should I be worried? I'm not sure if I should add some more pH down or leave it alone since I've been told not to play the "pH game" of constantly adjusting the pH to a desired level.

Also, how much pH down am I suppose to use? From the videos I've watched, It seems like I only need a small amount but I'm using a shit load for my tap water... Is this normal?

Yeah ease up on the PH down I recently bought a PH pen to discover that being over zealous with the stuff was never good,Im not sure how but my last grow worked,catch is when I tested the water after application (the way i USED TO DO IT) It was like 2.2ph (Oh Dear)
So yeah,easy does the ph down.

Im not to sure about the formulas,If I tried to tell you I'd be lieing.

Not looking so bad though.

Could you tell me if this is a problem? the leaves look like they are drooping but I cant tell if its just me. Maybe its just the lowryder strain?
