I'm trying to keep it small because I have very limited space. It's already gone past my height restricts several times so I've had to do a lot of supercropping keeping in mind the flowering stretch. I tried to take some photos of the pre-flowers but my iPhone 6 camera wont focus well enough and it's hard to hold the leaves out of the way with one hand and tap to focus then take the picture.
I've done 24/0 for faster growth because flat inspections are usually every three months or so, I didn't want to be in flower when the landlords come through. I just moved three weeks ago so the timer on that has been reset which helps. I just want to be able to harvest in two months. Five months would be a long time for one little indoor plant that might yield an oz or more if I'm lucky.
The way you make and keep a mother plant is never switching the light time and will never have flowers. Pistols come from the pods wich won't form till it flowers. It has to switch. If your sure there female. If not do it any way and if you find out diferant take them out rite way. Like I said the plant will only be vegging and getting bigger. Any chance you were reading about auto flower.
I don't know, I'm not very familiar with auto flower strains. People have a tendency to be vague so it's been a recurring headache finding information specific to my case, which is why I signed up here and made a post. I'd a second opinion from a professional, but I'm getting a sense that they won't show until I switch to flower, despite the conflicting information I've read.
im not saying do it but I would because I have read so much about flipping the times and when. Every one says in small room they did it at the height they want and not by time.
It's really hard to tell from my pictures but from all the pictures I've seen of female pre-flowers it's kind of unmistakable, especially compared to those of the male I took out, completely different structure.
These are pointed pear shapes whereas my other plant that started pre-flowering sooner looked like tiny crab claws up close. I've had hundreds of pounds go through my hands so I know calyxes when I see them.
I once had a bug bite the tip off a female pre flower...looked like a little sack the whole grow. Male sacks usually have stripes. Those LOOK female, but, sexing is hard at that age without a scope. Get one. Flip and weed out any males if they pop up.
Thanks, I might flip and start the bloom feed with the spring water and see what happens. My house is about 70 years old and I'm pretty sure the tap water is too alkaline compared to my last house. I got a LED-lighted 60x-100x handheld microscope for cheap off eBay before I started the grow, it's kind of tricky to use though. I have just the one plant, all the pre-flowers look the same, most of them are just smaller. I just read on Overgrow that some females pre-flowers never produce pistils. There were originally two plants, but as stated in my original post I diagnosed one as male and removed it.
