First Grow - PC Case of Dooooom!

Hi guys. I'm new here but have been lurking for quite some time. I decided a long time ago to go the PC route but my first case was such a disaster that I waited another year to even think about a second try. Luckily I found someone who builds things cheaply way better than I could dream. In fact, it's the same case as RudieJ's! lol I promise pics real soon, but I just moved into a new place and can't seem to find my camera's battery charger. Oh well, there isn't much going on, so if you want to see what it looks like just hop over to the other thread :)

Seeds: 3 Nirvana Papaya's
Soil: Fox Farm Ocean Forest
Nutes: Fox Farm's Big Bloom and Grow Big

Day 1
Threw my three beans in some jiffy pots to sprout. I got them warming by the campfire (four 26 watt CFLS). I chose this plant over a couple others I have in the queue because it said they were very quick to flower, and I want this party started ASAP haha!

So stick around, I'm definitely going to have a ton of questions for you guys.

Day 3
Well that didn't take long. I've got three little babies sticking their heads out of the jiffy pots. I'll probably give them another 5 days in before transplanting them to cut 2 liter plastic bottles. I was so worried none would sprout!

Now I just have to figure out how I'm gonna grow these babies. I'm thinking of trying Scrog with the adjustable wire, but since this case is so high maybe I'd be better off growing straight up in one cola. Any suggestions?

And I do promise pics. I have to run to the store tomorrow to get a new camera battery and charger. That thing just up and left me. That is life I guess lol.

Glad to hear you got all three to germinate (I only got 1 of my 3 to sprout).
As for the growing method, I plan to use the scrog screen. If all three of your plants are females, you could veg for just a little bit and then go to flower or you could not use the screen and veg for a longer time and have about the same yield.

Sorry it took so long to update. Work has been killing me lately, and as a result, I killed off little sprouts in their Jiffy Pots. Man, those things dry up fast... I just cut up some 2 liter bottles and threw seeds in moist soil. Old school but I'm comfortable with that. It's been 6 days, two sprouted, one got re-seeded. It's gonna be a runt but I plan on going straight 12/12 anyway.

Anyway, here are some pics of the setup:

Well, number 3 decided to sprout today and play some catch-up.

Quick question: I already had a leaf get too close to a light and burn itself, so at which point is it ok to not have the plants as close to the light sources as possible? I'm on 12/12 and since this is my first grow I'm having a hard time predicting each day's growth.

If I may make a suggestion, you want to let them veg a lot more before you go 12/12. I know you want to get this party started "ASAP" but they need time to veg first and by the looks of it you went to flowering almost right away. Look at some of the other micro grow threads and see how big they are before they try to grow buds on them.

I hear ya, man, but I really just want to get a feel for how a grow feels like. I'm interested in seeing how big these pots allow the plants to get, what flowering looks, feels, and smells like, and how my PC case runs.

Even though I won't get much of a yield this time around, I'll at least get some good experience.

Veg until your plant is about 6 inches then flower, this is the basics of everything i have read most people at least wait until 6 inches. Trust me it is worth it.

Ok, followed your advice offered, fellas - bumped to 18/6 for a while. Hopefully I don't stress them too much.

More pics coming soon - they're actually looking like plants haha

Decided to help them out a little and give them their first shot of nutes. A few drops of Grow Big mixed in a gallon of spring water. I'll probably be watering twice a week.

Sorry it took so long for a pic update. Here are my babies at two weeks old now:

Plant A

Plant B

Group Shot

You can probably see the residual burn on the leaf of the second plant when it touched a bulb. It seems to be doing well despite that. I'm not a 100% sure but the time spent on 12/12 made the plants start to show sex already. I dunno, what do you guys think? They looking ok?

Well, it withered up pretty bad. I'm thinking I over watered or added too much Grow Big, so I diluted the water and cut back. Both plants seem to be bouncing back, but one is way better off than the other.

The good news is the runt that was seeded late seems to be doing great. I started LST today :joint:

Check the chlorine in your water. I had an issue with my sprouts tips becoming yellow and I couldnt figure it out for the longest time and probably lost and stunted quite a few sprouts. Now I use aquafina lol. No problems or yellow.
