First Grow Issues

started my first grow last week.

I am running a 250W HPS (ik its not ideal for veg but im on a budget) in a closet roughly 5 feet wide x 3 ft deep by 7 feet tall. (4.5 ft from soil to bottom of light)
Humidity 40-60%
Temps 68-82 degrees F. been having trouble keeping it down lately with warmer weather outside will have to invest in an ac unit.

Germinated seeds in paper towels (2 autoflowering speedbud and 1 WWxBB)

Placed directly into 5 gallon pots with roots organics original potting mix. (I am pretty sure this is where I messed up)

I had sprouts within a day and a half and they grew well and looked great until the other day. They are starting to show some weird symptoms that I think is nutrient burn from the roots organic soil. Below are some pictures:

Plant 1 Speed bud

The tips of both of the first true leaves look weird to me

Plant 2 WWxBB
For this plant both tips on the first set of leaves are curled. One upwards and one down.

Plant 3 speedbud
This one looks okay but the tips of the newest growth(3rd set of leaves) and the outer fingers on the second set look burned. You cant see it in the pictures tho

Does anyone know what I should do? or what these symptoms are I cant seem to find anything specific?

Correct, they have a little nute burn. Only 2 options. Leave them in and they will get used to it eventually, or take them out and into a lighter mix. If you take them out put them into smaller pots those are quite big for a seedling... they will stress a little but will recover. Upside and downside to either choice but they will recover whichever you choose. If you leave them in those pots be very conservative with watering until they get bigger and are drinking more.

The curling leaves are from excess nitrogen, commonly called 'clawing' or 'the claw'. Often accompanied by darker than normal green color. The discoloration alongside the bubbling/rippled texture is burn. If you see a that fried look thats usually what it is. Yours is pretty mild.

this makes me happy as a first timer because that is exactly the conclusion I suspected I really just wanted someone to confirm my thoughts that has some experience.

Unfortunately the problem has gotten worse even the last few hours. the tips on the leaves of the wwxbb are very dry and about to crumple off.

Also unfortunately I will be away from the babies for the next 8 days or so and that forced me to water them their heaviest watering yet. The soil seems to hold the moisture well so I suspect when I return they may just be a little thirsty and be over the "hot" soil.

I'm praying they will be alive and well  but if they don't make it I have 3 seeds in jiffy pellets :)

They will snap out of it but you are better off repotting them in a mix that is not as hot! Try mixing in 50 percent peat moss like pro mix or grab a brick of coco....

8 days it hot soil without water is going to be bad. Maybe rig up some CFLs or flouros to run while gone. Hot soil and no water isn't the best by any means. Good luck!
