First Grow ever

Lookin good Mark1253. Those ladies seem to be loving what your doing. Yeah about that light cycle two weeks before harvest...havent heard anything like that ever. Hopefully someone can shine some light on that. Plants only measure darkness??? that doesnt seem right does it?

I have just read, copied and pasted this from another site (sea of green).....

Your ladies do not measure daylength only darkness.

When your about 2 weeks from harvest increase daylength to 24hrs on/12hrs off .


1.gives you about 15% more yield
2.use up any remaining nutrients in its system (organic growers)
3.improves taste dramatically for non-organic plants

Has anyone heard of this or even tried it ?

Another 30 days or so then I'm gonna get right in about them and show them whos the fekin daddy

Things were going great up until a few days ago when I noticed that some of the leaves were yellowing and crisping up so had a good look through the Infirmary for people who had similar problems(too lazy to post my own pics there ) anyway after thinking it was a mag deficiency I upped my PH from 5.8 to 6.1 as I read somewhere that this is good to únlock' that nutrient.

I also dropped the PPM from 800/900 to 600/700 and put the drips onto 30 mins ON every 2 hours during lights on.

After doing that this morning I was up and down like a whores knickers checking them I realised that every time I opened the Zip .........(I have rigged up a camping tent front as the door to my harems hooch)......it was really humid and there wasnt enough air circulation and that was causing the problems.

Anyway, thats what I think the problem was but only time will tell, I'm gonna drop the PH bck down to 5.7 / 5.8 in a couple of days time.

According to the seed packet they have 1 to 3 weeks left so what I intend to do from now on is just add water and PH until they gobble all the nutrients and when the PPM is showing zero continue watering to flush..........will this work ??

I Don't know if PPMs and EC are really the same but, don't forget to check the original ppm of your tap or source water...lol I was rinsing coco and thinking "if I can get the EC below .50, that'd be great"... about an hour later I thought to check my taps EC... it was .60 ... that could've been a very long night :wink:

Fortunately, I live in an area where the tap water is very soft and the PPM/EC doesnt even register on my meter

I've read several times that some leaves just start yellowing the closer to harvest you get. Its what they do and isn't necessarily a problem. That may be part of it.

The plants probably won't take you all the way down to zero. There will still be some stuff in there the plants can't use that will register on your meter. When your ppm or EC stops going down, or when it is time to start flushing anyway, I'd just change it all out then.

Just my thoughts for you to ponder. Looks great though, you've done them ladies nice.

so today i had a fekin brain wave and decided to harvest a plant that I thought was looking ready but ended up chopping 2 !
I know I only started the flush on Saturday but me and my Cannagimp (he fukin hates that haha) decided to do it and practice for the big day when they all come down
Anyway, the results are freakin awesome
The buds were obviously just off the plant when weighed but I'm pleased with the results so far

Anyway folks. I know they have only been flushed for 3 days, will probably taste like shite and once dried will probably weigh a quarter what they do now but I dont care
Still plenty that could go wrong so I'm not counting my chickens

So I have finised my first ever grow

Taking into account all the bud I quick dried and smoke as well as giving mates some to try my total dry weight was in the region of 40 OUNCES (probably slightly more) from 12 plants !!

This plant pulled in over 5 Ounces alone ..........


It is a beautiful smoke which starts of b giving you the gigles then slowly melts you into the couch for a couple of hours. Its also great just before bed time for a great nights kip.

Back to my original question, to trim or not to trim ?.........well my grow was pretty crowded and when harvesting there was literally hundreds of popcorn buds hidden away in the lower branches so from now on I am definately gonna trim the fek out of future grows.

I would like to thank everyone who contributed to this thread and helped me through my grow.....I couldnt of done it without your help and advice so once again many many thanks

Ive just popped 8 'RED DRAGON' fem seeds again from barneys farm so we shall see how I get on with less plants with more room to reach thier full potential.

I'll start a new thread showing them nearer the flip because they're still in the propagator just now.

Thanks growdevil, I used atami B CUZZ hydro all the way through my grow and I am well pleased with the results so I'm sticking with it. I also used some atami bloomtastic during the flower period..........good shit man

Thanks cloneman during veg I had the lights 20 on 4 off and ran the drips for 30 mins on 2 and a half hours off when the lights were on during veg and flower

Anyway in the meantime ive popped 5 red dragon fem seeds and they have been in flower for nearly a week so I'll probably start another thread in the hydro forum when poblems start appearing.......which they will

All part of the fun though so musnt grumble

what was your light cycle for the first five weeks? im planning on doing an indoor grow, with a 16/8 cycle, and just seeing how huge those girls are just puts a big smile on my face i cant wait to start my grow.

check out my growbox im going to do an LST to keep them contained in it, probs only gonna fit 2 girls in there if i want to bring them to flower
