Hey Everyone , i finally built my first grow box .

Dimensions :

- Height : 39.3inches / 3.28ft / 100cm
- Width : 23.6inches / 1.96ft / 60cm
- Depth : 15.7inches / 1.31ft / 40cm

Lights :

Veg :
3 x 23w (100W / 1398lm / 2700K) CFLs
3 x 23w (100W / 1398lm / 6500K) CFLs

Flo :
4 x 23w (100W / 1398lm / 2700K) CFLs
2 x 30w (135W / 1950lm / 2700K) CFLs

The only thing i haven't figured out yet and just discovered the problem today (Due to lack of knowledge and experience) : No ventilation , temperature rising to 30+C°/86+F° .

I ordered :
1) Small desk fan . Will be placed inside the box for air circulation .
2) 2x10 CFM Pc Fans . (Not sure how to mount them , either intake or exhaust)

Any help on that would be GREATLY appreciated guys ! :tiphat:

Howdy mate :tiphat:
Ventilation is pretty straight forward, hot air rises so your cold intake air should come from the bottom sides of your box, you could use both PC fans on either side of the roof extracting hot air from inside, with your intake holes just above your floor inside the box on the sides and maybe the back of the box.
Have a look at this great thread about Ventilation 101
It will explain much better than I could, just remember to have 2x the area of your intake holes in relation to your exhaust hole area, so 1x 10cm exhaust hole would require a 20cm intake hole or 5x 4cm holes, 2x 4cm holes on either side down the bottom and say 1 x 4cm hole in the back wall on the bottom.
What are you going to be doing to remove or contain the smell of your Purple Bud plants??

Thanks for your reply buddy !

So you're saying i should just drill holes for the intake without putting a fan ? Something i read was lets say i have a fan = 5cm diameter used for the exhaust , i should create a 10cm intake hole for it ?

As for the smell i havent really done anything about it yet ! Can it be that bad ?

Yes you can have passive intakes with no fan, I personally have used this method for a few years now on my clone an veg cupboards/grow boxes :)
Please read through at least the first 5 pages of this thread bro, https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=112862 it will help you understand way better than I can type it for ya :D

without a doubt invest in a carbon filter
unless of course you live in a property where the smell wont matter lol
there's plenty of links to homemade filters and very easy to make got one myself and it works a treat

I agree with ya...but there is no such thing as a property where the smell won't matter. There is absolutely nothing to be gained from having the smell of growing cannabis emanating from your home, regardless of whether you are in a legal state, live in a very rural area, etc. Anybody who disagrees is playing with fire.

I live by myself on several acres in the middle of the woods high up on a mountain and I still couldn't imagine running anything without a working scrubber.

bro asking for help here is cool and all, but, feel free to read through some stuff before asking super vague questions.

I'm not even sure I saw a question.

Thanks for all your replies guys ! admiralcornport bro , i read alot of articles and research about the subject , but what matters the most to me is YOUR opinions and im sure you all went through this first stage .. so sharing my setup with you and discussing about it wont hurt anyone :) Its been 3-4 days since i planted the seeds , i also added the ventilation system which is doing wonders (managed to drop the temp from 32C/90F to 25C/77F ! Everything's been going really well (for now) . Ill post pictures to show you whats happening atm :)

yeah ventilation 101 thread will help you a lot. but bottom line is hot air rises cool air sinks. put intak at bottom and exhaust at top. intake should be 2x exhaust. don't blow fans directly at plants. you should be fine.
