Could u give me a source for research?

Greetings
Tangwena's Thread about cob curing Malawi... I unintentionally pissed people off in that thread by simply asking too many questions some time back but I still look up their work... Enjoy...
Mine wasn't exactly vaccume cured but hand squeezed into papers which eventually went into a almost vaccume shutting cure jar with this button that sucks out the air but actually a vaccume macine would definitely be way better which is something that I highly want to try next time...

Plants are looking green.

Is there a chance that their shoes are overly wet or cold? I'm asking because of the leaves pointing down.
Looking at the temperatures i wonder if you can throw a blanket or two over the tent to insulate it a little.

Do you think they are too green?
The pots are well fertilized, but given the long standing time and the size it still has to reach, I think this is appropriate.

The pot is indeed very moist. But that's OK, because it was only damp at this point because I've just installed the irrigation system and the soil has to be very moist for that. That will subside over the next few days.

Hey guys,

The lamp above the Purple Haze x Malawi is set to 100% (250W), while the lamp above the Golden Tiger or the Zamaldelica is set to 80%.
I have noticed that the Golden Tiger always hangs a little more than the PuMa.
The pots weigh the same.

Greetings

Lovely bro, I wish you the best, you'll have a ton of bud from these...

Hey folks,

my first sativa run is currently underway with three genetics from ACE Seeds. These are the following strains:
- Purple Haze x Malawi
- Zamaldelica
- Golden Tiger (3rd Thai-Dominant Version)

I am currently growing three plants of each strain in 1-liter airpots. In the long term, I would like to keep three plants to cultivate them in my tent (1.2 m x 1.2 m x 2.2 m) under a 500 watt lamp. The plan is to repot them in 15-liter fabric pots soon.

However, I'm not sure how long I should keep the plants in the vegetation phase (18/6). The Golden Tiger in particular is growing much faster than the other varieties, which is starting to worry me.

My plan is to top all the plants from the third node onwards, shortly before flowering a second time and - depending on development - possibly a third time (probably at the start of flowering). After that, the few main shoots will be woven into a SCROG net.

Here are a few photos:

I hope the growth rate is recognizable in the pictures.

I have two final questions:
What do you think of my plan?
When should I send them into flower?

Kind regards

Am very late but...Alot of the reasons people get "herms" from sativas indoors is the flip from 18/6 to 12/12, sativas come from equatorial areas where the longest day of the year is around 14 hours and the shortest around 12, so i would lower the lights gradually from now until they are at 12/12. Besides the herm thing sativas naturally veg for a while under 12/12 as in their ancestral habitat, thats roughly how long the days are most of the year. So flipping to 12/12 will shock the plants more than any indoor cultivar/hybrid etc etc, and it will veg for a VERY long time, not only this but the onset to flower will be longer when you actually do flip. If you lower the lights gradually... (whatever works best, ive lowered by 5 in the evening and five in the morning until flower before, you can do whatever suits you, the more gradual the change the better, it can still take the same amount of time to do so, just incremental)...the plants will flower closer to 14 light hours if you lower gradually. Of course there is always nuances and outliers but most pure sativas will respond in these ways unless having been worked quite a bit or hybridised

So to summarise you can get a quicker onset to flower and less risk by starting with less light hours and gradually lowering if you have a long differential between the light regimens you are using and technicaly flower on more light while the plant is budding in the early stages, besides this i have heard of people making sativas flower quicker by going below 12 hours slightly in the later stages, not by much of course

I see you already started flowering but ace have some fairly well worked/stable sats so should be ok, definitely consider for ones you know will be long flowering in the future

Hey guys,

Today is BT28.
From tomorrow, the ladies will only get 11 hours of light.
I've also scrogged the plants a little to compensate for the height differences.

Nice! Exciting grow with super cool genetics 🤙I grow Thai & Burmese Landrace/Heirloom sativas. I like to get the seedlings up to about 4 or 5 nodes high, then I drop light hrs on down to 14 then 13 then 12 over 3 days and then you can usually sex them to pull males out if needed. Then I bump the light hrs back up to 14-16 hrs on to veg them up into your final pot size. They don't typically need 18 hrs light, they aren't used to it and they might grow too big under too many lights on hours, but you can if you like. When I flip I drop to 11 hrs on or even 10 to ensure full flower without re-veg and usually earlier finishing with less light hrs on. Have fun man, looking good 🤙✌️

Thanks for the message.
As already mentioned, I have changed the cycle from 12/12 to 11/13 to induce (more) flowering.
Would you advise me to keep this cycle or switch to 10/14 or 9/15 in a few weeks?

I'd recommend to make an even canopy and go with full light intensity onto the plants early. Your lights might be too far away. Tropicals will etiolate and stretch a lot with lower light intensities producing longer internodes.

I can assure you that I am meticulous every day in keeping the shoots down as well as creating an even flower canopy.

Here is a small photo:

This is the PPFD Plot:
1737577397498.png

  • Power consumption………511W
  • Average PPFDe…………………883µmol/m²/s
  • minimum PPFDe………………553µmol/m²/s
  • maximum PPFDe……………..1.150µmol/m²/s
  • Homogeneity………………….0,63
I switched them on 100% at Flowering Day 12.

That Golden Tiger will never stop stretching if it gets over the droopy stage.

They have been stretching much less since 11/13. The net is well filled and the result is really impressive in my opinion!

I just have one question: can I still lollipop/defoliate now? Or is it too late for that?

Yes indeed very impressive! Great job keeping them tamed.

Lollipop will give you benefit of air flow in the lower part of the canopy (everything under the net) also everything under the net will not produce a great bud due to lack of light and plant hormone so most of the growers opt for sacrificing the popcorn for a bigger apical structure.

Others will use under canopy flowers for extractions or tinctures…
If you don’t care about bag appeal let the plant grow as is. If you want to impress with big tops lollipop 1/3 of the plant from the net down…

The more foliage you have the less air is flowing the higher the risk of fungal infection.

Might need an expert eye but it looks like your PHxMalawi leans to the haze side, the apical structure looks very spaced out with a vine look.
