Hey Guys... Planning on going to my First Cup this year.... God willing, it will actually happen. But im trying to get an Idea of how much Cash i need to bring. I know American money will lose a bit when Euroized but how much would an Average American Need. 1000 bucks for the 4 days or would 500 due.... just anyone with some experience over there. THanks

junit, i went to the IC Cup in April, and it was my first Cup and first time in Amsterdam...

if you don't mind sleeping in a hostel (there are some very central and very nice hostels in A'Dam) and being a bit careful about what you spend on meals, take $650,you'll feel a bit less "budgeted" and you won't have to worry about counting your pennies,that'll help you to enjoy yourself even more :smile: Its a good compromise between a big budget ($1,000) and a tight budget ($500)

The Rate F*kn sux. loose up to 30% sometimes. So depends on what you smoke and if you like Bubblehash as it can run 30 Euros a gram and for quality sativa's it can be 14 Euros a gram. Depends how you live. If you stay in a hostel you will save alot. Good Luck and i'll see you there Jubei

lol no umm Watch EuroTrip the movie. There is a scene at the end of the movie that is deleted. They go to a hostel called the Wooden shoe. They are very cheap places to stay and are a great place to catch the latest EuroFlu. I would recommend a hotel or a apt. if there is alot of you traveling.

During the HTCC the prices are a little bit cheaper in Amsterdam as the Tourism season is over. Bring a rain coat or winter jacket as it gets almost freezing temps at night. I have seen Hostels for 10 Euros a night. I know some ppl who have stayed in them and said there were fine to stay in. But i travel with 2 digital cameras, Laptop, PSP, MP3 player so i wouldn't feel safe staying in a hostel. I usually get a apartment for 200+euro a night. You get a kitchen and fridge so save alot on Food. But there is usually 3 of us or more so maynot be your thing. Good Luck Jubei

could anyone recommend a cheap hotel close to where the event will be held next year? and cost if known? nothing extravagant, just one room, one bed ( queen or king size) and a bathroom? Trying hard to budget out $$ for next year, and need to get an approximate idea of $$ needed......This would be the trip of a lifetime....

man i can't wait for the htcc this year i will be there ready to party looking to smoke some of the finest with some of my mentors...i will be coming into a
dam from italy though. maybe switzerland if smoking is still legal in lugano man memories there. but i will be in either a fatty hotel or a fatty flat..can't wait to meet omst people form the ic there

If they announced where the Expo will be held i could maybe give you some hotel suggestions but they haven't yet. It was all held at the Melkweg last year which was not very appropriate for the event. It is being run by High Times again so things are different then the years before. They will announce on their website where and when the events will be. Good Luck Jubei :wave:
