we should have a great view of the cities fireworks display from our back yard

however, i did acquire a few roman candles, bottle rockets, and some boom stuff a bit smaller than an m80 earlier today, that's our plan b...well it's in the plan either way, at least a few. we will light a few, and ride our bikes a few blocks away, light a few more, then ride, etc. etc.

I've got some 3" mortars and what not...use to enjoy heading down by the river to watch the fireworks...fuck I miss the city

I bought everything but the small stuff (fountains, sparklers) this yr, had plenty of left over firecrackers, and bought m-80s (illegal), lots of rockets, a dozen illegal percussion mortars (really friggn loud) and about 24 mortar cakes.

we'll set off a grand finale that's 2nd to none for a driveway display.......

in the old days 50s/60s/70s we always had our own and/or we'd go to Eisenhower State Pk in Uniondale LI NY for the Grucci Fireworks Show this was always the finest show, anyone from NY would tell you so if they'd ever been to it.

Here's Grucci's 2011 schedule, the Eisenhower Pk display is listed as the only 'WORLD' class display. Grucci is the king of custom fireworks.

Grucci was always the very best, I miss it, I'll bet it's been since '78 or '79 that I haven't been to that show.

Oh Yeah!!! Going to Red,White and Boom this evening that costs 8k per minute for 20 minutes! Tomorrow night I have some mortars, rockets etc. for all my friends to enjoy after we grill and toke out, then just a local one Sunday.

Usually the 4th of july barbecue culminates with a bottle rocket & roman candle war. When i was a kid it was the annual "blow up your unwanted toys holiday
Good times...

Breaking out the change jars and spending every penny.
I have a 25lb home made morter that I put 500grains of powder in. It will jump 50'+ in the air if I set it off upside down. It gets all the neighbors with in a 1/2 mile out and looking for a mushroom cloud.
In fact I'm going to go set it off.

aside from taping an m-80 to the stick of a big rocket I don't cotton to any homemade devices (see post #3, again...) being set off anywhere near me or anyone I care for.

I hope you keep all your digits bro, pls don't build any homemades either.......

wooohooo!!!

just set of an old percussion mortar, no display, just noise and lots of it, only have one more of those left but a quick call to my dealer in Fargo assured me that there's gonna be a fresh supply of all the good stuff coming in next week.

that mortar was easily 4-5 years old, forgotten in storage w/some other goodies.

I usually bring a truck to Fargo for stops @ Sam's Club, Northern Tools & Equipment, Bobcat and other stuff.......

last few years I've set up about 12 500gram cakes joined together with green fuse, I also add in as many 200gram cakes as I can fit on the 3'X3' plywood board, also tied in by fuse, this is our finale after lighting rockets and single shot mortars.

I light the one fuse and it winds its way around to all the cakes :)

that 3X3 board costs me about $500 to set up, never mind the lead up.

LOVE me some fireworks, sucks its so hard to get decent wholesale prices. They are legal here now, everything except bottle rockets lol. mortars and 500 gram cakes no problem, however no bottle rockets.

N Dakota has that same rule, as a Minnesota resident I can buy bottle rockets in Fargo (the shops can sell 'em), but ND residents can't. aside from that they have all the good stuff available to everyone.

I get access to back room stuff @ the shop I buy from, every shop has some items that are not exactly kosher for the general public because they're not exactly legal to sell. The good stuff.

M-80s, cherry bombs, 1# rockets (tremendous displays), and over the top mortars.

I got access to the good stuff by overhearing the owner talking about a trip to NYC, I gave him a short list of 3 restaurants he shouldn't miss while there; Plataforma, John's of Bleeker St & Papaya King. He claimed to have hit them all and loved the food.

KONY, idk what you do for a living, but if you did roofing and saw that your local fireworks shop needed some repairs to roof, gutters, leaders you might trade up some work for better prices or straight trade. A customer is a customer, but once you're doing business together....... :)
