Hi

No it's not. Last time I checked it was like 3 people in the whole motherfucking country had medical licenses to buy some kind of cannabinoid product from the pharmacy. Might have changed a bit..but it's still not easy.

The Finnish government was probably afraid that too much cannabis growing would cut into Alita's sales - and it would be pretty tough for them to raise the taxes any higher to compensate for the lost revenue.

Can't cut into the sales of Finnish white wine (Koskenkorva).

Yeah, taxes have been pumped pretty much to the limit - if they were any higher, buyers would get their stuff from black market.

And maybe someone behind this shit gets a cut from profits made with imported hash and other drugs? Homegrowing has really exploded in our country last few years, and that's bad news... for those profiting of drug trade.

Isn´t MJ legal in your country? As I understand it MJ can be prescribed as a medicine legally so what´s with the crackdown? Don´t you people have one of the highest rates of domestic violence in the world? Add to that suicide and later day massacres and I´d think the cops would have better things to do.

Yes, it actually is, since 2007 or so. But it's under the table and hushed up, cause they would rather see ppl popping pills. Coupled with the fact that like 1 outta 100 doctors would even consider prescribing you MJ.
Most doctors here, and i guess everywhere, are in the pockets of big med companies.
And even if they would prescribe it to ya, u still can't grow your meds, u'd have to settle for imported stuff like Sativex. Which i think is horseshit, why buy meds and support an exclusive market and some nazi company like bayern, when you could grow your own stuff..

You people? :D Who are you, Ross Perot?

I don't think the domestic violence numbers are much higher or lower than in other similar euro countries (not incl. Ireland), and happy to report that we'r out of the top 10 in suicides by country, i think 13th atm.. Sweden is 28th and USA, if i remember correctly, is 50 or 51st. Just to give you an idea of the suicide rates.

What´s Alita? Sounds like your country is more tightassed than I´ve been led to believe. Don´t people know about their options? Don´t you have anyone advocating MJ as a medicine?

Well we have Timo Haara, who grew 1,7 hectare field of weed and called the cops on himself, just to get ppl talking and hoping to get the old laws changed, but looks like it didn't do much good.
I don't know what the charges are gonna be, but they talked about kilos of weed.. And he has priors, so he'll most likely do time for weed again, but he said it's not a big deal and that he's ready to do the time, to get things changed, legalize weed growing for oil, fiber and meds, and ppl to notice that it's wrong to jail mofos for weed.

Here's a video of his grow, all finnish tho, but to give you an idea of the scale.

But what is Alita?

I´ve heard of the "weed Finn" (thanks BT) but why has he been hushed up? Or is he incarcerated? Don´t you have something similar to NORML?

I think it was ment to be Altia, which is Finninsh liquer company.. They have the monopoly here in finland. So all the drinks over 5.0% of alcohol are sold by one government owned company..

Finns have allways been driven to alcohol, and I think thats not gonna change much.. In fact I think that if we'd legalize ganja at this point most people could not handle it (with the alcohol)..

But that does not change the fact that this new wave of busts is nessecery in any ways.. Those that wanna smoke and grow should be able to do so! As are those who wanna drink their ass off..

Then there are us, who are somewhere in the middle of it all..

He hasn't been hushed up, like i said, he did a couple of talk shows and news papers and magz wrote about him and his situation. I meant the MMJ, even with it being legal, no doctor here will say "have you considered medical mj for whatever ails ya"

And we have the SKY. Suomen KannabisYhdistys ~ Finnish cannabis association (or something liek that). They do organize the marijuana march here and used to put out a magazine called 'hemp', and keep a web page, but last time they made the news (from what i recall) was somewhere in the 90's along with this popular park music fest in Helsinki where they had a booth and somebody busted underaged ppl smoking weed there. And they moralized em about that. I think they used to have their page in english too, but i can't find it anymore. www.sky.org

Most vocal support (not incl Haara guy) for weed comes from the local rappers and rastahippies, imo :)

I remember my first experience smoking hasch when drunk -not my brightest moment! But that was back when the Grateful Dead gave free concerts in Golden Gate Park...

I wonder if I´ll see ganja legalized in my lifetime? I doubt it but stranger things have happened.

Peace.

Fuck the police.

When they pull off stunts like this the old "they're only doing their job / they don't make the laws" excuse is no longer valid.

Yeah..fuck them and all that shit...but, I`ve "been around" since 80`s and they have pulled stunts like that all the time. My "mentor" got burned with 1 kilo of hash in -79 and did 5 years...
It`s just VERY fuckin different novadays from times that good old U.S.S.R were still around...I`m not saying it`s ok what they are pulling right now..HELL NO. BUT...i`ve lived under this pressure for +20 years and this is THE first time this thing is out in the open for discussion in general..

I think cops just got fed up with jungle that is also known as a Finnish law and they will look things trough in every court stage there is.
And novadays there is stage that weren`t there before..EU.
Me thinks that cops will be ones to get their fingers burned in the end.

P.S. a tip..if u want get someone killed in Finland, just get drunk and run him over with car..you`ll do max. 3 years..

Nazi Polizei believed that bullshit too, arresting jews and anti-facists for future slaughter.

No victim - no crime.

Hope Finnish brothers will kick the bastards' asses well enough to eliminate such cases of human rights violation and state terrorism in the future.

Honestly Im seeing a trend of worldwide cannabis debate. Its happening in copenhagen, in amsterdam, in america. Also in Norway we have had some debate around the issue lately, +many other countries. The debate differs from country to country, but the it seems to be quite an obscure debate many places.

Im kind of seeing a larger campaign here guys, does anyone else see this?

Bumpin' this with an update in english:

Police Raids of Home Gardens Spark Controversy

Tactics used by police raiding homes of suspected growers of cannabis are raising controversy. Many people growing legal plants have had their houses raided, and the matter has sparked intense online debate.

The Parliamentary Ombudsman gets about 20 complaints a year about police searches. In January this year there were already five.

YLE interviewed Mikko, a cook by profession, who grows chilli peppers at home.

In the autumn, he was stopped as he was leaving a gardening supplies store. Plainclothes police said that he was suspected of a drug crime. The police drove him to his home where they conducted a search.

“It was an ordinary day. I went to the Viherpeukku shop, where I bought PH powder. When I walked out, two plainclothes police stopped me. They wanted to see what I was growing.”

It was the first time that Mikko has had any dealings with the police.

“The treatment was quite businesslike, but the legal aspect makes me wonder. Is this really permissible, to allow someone’s home life to be interfered with on such a flimsy basis.”

Home searches require the authorisation of a high-ranking police officer. Upon request from the target of the raid, the police are required to supply a report on the action within about two weeks. Mikko got his over a month later, after several requests.

The search was linked with the investigation into the activities of the now-defunct Viherpeukku. Police suspect that the company, with shops in Tampere and Helsinki, sold goods for the cultivation of cannabis. A total of 150 home searches were conducted in connection with the investigation.

The investigation has raised considerable controversy. Police raids on buyers of gardening supplies have been criticised as a misplaced priority in a situation in which organised crime should be would require more police attention.

My friend had same treatment as Mikko or perhaps much worse.
They took his chilies and lamps and everything that involved growing. These cops thinked that those chilies were drugplants!!! How stupid they can be?
His home was searched with dogs. He had to take his car to police station for closer inspection. He had to give drug test 2 times, because stupid cops did not believed first time, that he is not using any drugs.

I am planning to purchase locks, which cops do not have serials. If they want to visit me, they have to use axe for the door. Also some alum(? do not know is right word, but should mess up dogs nose) here and there for narc dogs. :whistling:

Quite useless. The only one who has keys to your appartment is the janitor or "huoltomies / kiinteistöhuolto". If you want to lock them out just replace your locks. Cops will drill your lock if they can't get the key so when they are coming your time to react rises about 5 minutes. But you wont notice that anyway because they will be waking you up anyway. 6 AM is the first possible time to do a search so they will be at your yard approximately 5.55AM. If not then you are alreay cought and can't do shit anyway.

"In Finland, there is no case law as to whether plant breeding instruments are related to the crime of drug promotion."
like my dad always said "nobody wants a law named after them"
