Fingerprints on Growbulbs !!!!!!!!

Hi every1, this is just a friendly heads up, not trying to get any 1 worried but i feel it needs to be mentioned.

True Story

The guy in my local grow store got a call from the cops, they went to his house and he was not in, so they left a card and asked him to contact the police office as soon as he could, so the next day he go's down to the cop shop to find out why they were looking for him.

so when he gets there the police start asking him about a grow op that they busted about 6 months ago that was miles and miles where he lives, nothing to do with him whatsoever, so he tells them he knows nothing about it, so they then ask him to explain why his fingerprints are over the grow bulbs ?????

So he then go's on to explain that he works in a shop that sells they type of bulbs and every bulb they sell has to be tested before it leaves the shop, and thats why his fingerprints must have been on that bulb, they wanted to see proof that he worked in that shop or he was gonna be charged in connection with that grow, once he showed them he was actually employed by the shop they could not do a thing, now they wear gloves if they are testing any bulbs.

this is just a friendly heads up as i have helped a few m8's out before by giving them bulbs that are still kinda new but have been used until they get new bulbs themselves, not thinking that i could be leaving any prints behind that could lead back to me, you got to stay 1 step ahead of the police in this game but thats what they are doing now and im not sure for how long as well, taking fingerprints from grow bulbs, and im pretty sure if you touch that bulb and leave a print, it dont matter if that bulb has been on for 2-3 months, that print will still be there when you turn the bulb off, the heat from the bulb wont burn your print away.

stay safe guys

The oils in your hands cut the life of the bulb.

Them grow shop guys are always on the cutting edge.:)

Which country?

Fingerprints on equipment alone should never secure a conviction (in the US at least), so there's a reasonable possibility that the threat was laid out to encourage your friend to give up some info, rather than being a legitimate threat of being charged.

You should never touch the bulbs directly anyway
leaving oils on the bulbs from touching them shorten there lives.
You should be using a sock or glove on your hand at all time to change them or replace them. despite the whole fingerprint thing.
This is how I was taught back in 1980 when I bought my first 1000watt setup in Garden Grove CA

If you touch them with your bare hands, all you have to do is wipe them down with alcohol swabs. That's what we do on films/tv.

they fingerprint grow stuff now as a matter of course, many grows are left unattended when the police turn up.

this happened in the uk, the person involved was arrested for something stupid in his younger days and they had his prints on record from then, but im sure most of us have had our fingerprints taking at some point in time, could be for a job, gun license, lots of different reasons, my main point was that the police are taking fingerprints now when they bust a grow, and if your prints are on any of that stuff and they are on record, you bet your ass you will be getting a call from the police, might not be straight away, in this case in was 6 months it took for the police to come knocking , but they will come, might not be to arrest you but they will want an explanation as to why your prints are on grow equipment.

and another thing, i had a friend who was busted, he had a lot of old shit in his house that really he should have thrown away ages ago, old bulbs and other shit, have you any idea how that looks on a piece of paper ??? as when he got busted they wrote everything he had down, any1 looking at that would have thought it was a big massive grow when the truth was he was only running 1000w and had a few plants, but looking at what he had wrote down on a piece of paper was fucking scary , most of the shit was old and he did not use anymore, shit that should have been ditched ages ago, but to any1 looking at that piece of paper would not have known it was old stuff he did not use, my point is, throw any old stuff out that you dont use or dont intend to be using, old bulbs and other shit, you guys will know what im talking about, i used to keep old shit myself just because i could not be arsed throwing it away, now i only keep what i need, everything else got ditched, stoners can be lazy fuckers who always leave everything until tomorrow, get on that shit today guys, stay safe.

hi.good post fb,totally agree, easy to let bulbs, nutrient bottles etc accumelate around the house,i tend to remove all packeging, stripping bottles of there instructions and always dumping a few miles from where i live, can never be too careful, over here in the uk things differ from county to county,in some countys,if please raid you and confiscate plants and grow equipement but house is empty, they leave you a nice polite letter asking you to contact police station regarding you cannabis and equipement, sure this wouldnt be there atitude if it was a warehouse or vietnamese grow,,,where in other areas as stated by op,they will come after you for a print on a bulb, fucking crazy situation, the present laws around weed,, peace and regards s2

^^^^ yep they sure are in the US. Include any government job with security or FBI background check to that list. Things are changing very rapidly. Things that use to be common knowledge are completely out dated. All that money allocated to Home Land Security is being used to rapidly grow an extremely interconnected network of all types of LEO and government information. The generation that didn't understand this new technology is rapidly retiring. All databases are being cross linked, costs much less and is more efficient. Days of having a DUI in Florida and it not showing up in Oregon are over or will be in the next 2 years. This includes criminal and non-criminal information. All those finger prints, if not already, are being uploaded very quickly into a national database. Welcome to the Matrix!

Even 2 years ago, a doctor would get in trouble in one state and just up and move to another state.... now all that is on a new Federal database. Keep yourselves updated. What use to be impossible is very easily accomplished with the amount of money and resources that are flowing into these areas.

Don't think they are not putting all those new laws to use as quickly as they are coming on line.

Peace

your not even allowed entry into the U.S now unless your fingerprints get taken, they got fingerprint scanners everywhere over there, disney parks, airports, im not sure if the fingerprint thing applies to domestic flights but they do for international flights, and as SacredBreh says, i dont think it would be too hard to put all the fingerprints on 1 database with the technology they have today, dont think it would be too hard to check them as well, stay safe guys.
