I appreciate the link. I will look into purchasing a tin of em. I will have to look at my local cigar shops site. They humidor room is the size of a dining room.

Someone mentioned a romeo and julliet cuban as a good pick? last time i had a cigar had to be on the golf course.

If you enjoy a mild/mellow cigar then Casa Blanca is a good choice. I've received compliments on the aroma of these on the casino boat from strangers. Most cost effective source I have found is J and R Cigars. Check their website out, many fine cigars out there that are not high priced Cubans.

Nice baby! You know you a true cigar junkie, when you skip humi's and start buying coolers to store your smokes in. I've been collecting cigars (mainly habanos) for 18-19 years. Had a job that allowed much overseas travel (pre 9-11) and I have managed to acquire one large stash of well aged cigars.

I got into smoking a pipe and pipe tobacco about a year ago and I enjoy that much more than cigars. There are hundreds of blends but 2 camps in general: aromatics, and non-aromatics. I prefer english/balkan non-aromatics and get this; 8 oz of my favorite fills a quart mason jar and is less than $25. Yeah, talk about affordable. There are many different styles of pipes and a good one will run $60-120, but can go much higher. For the best value and a really nice pipe imo, search Mario Grandi on ebay. I have one of those and love it. Also have a Stanwell filtered. For someone who just wants to test the water, a drug-store corncob pipe for $6 works great.

Dammit, just checked eBay & bought a new Mario Grandi.

It's been two years, but people still smoke cigars. Just very now i'm enjoying a cohiba lancero. There's no cigar like this one. Maybe there is, but this is my favourite so far. You gotta find the moment for it, no hassle of no kind over the next two hours. A good cigar can reconcile oneself with life. Together with a good single malt. And when i finish, a big joint of a nice amnesia haze. And then, off to diner. I left the woods and hit town today, this little city upnorth in Spain, and as i was walking down the street, i saw lots of cops and then Francis Ford Coppola, he's getting some prize or something. Yo Frankie! Anyway...

i smoke maybe 4 or 5 cigars a year, and it takes me a couple of days to finish one, LOL! the first few i tried were cheap & sucked, then i splurged& spent about $12 on a better one. BIG difference... can't wait until real Cubans are available to try...

Like anything in life we want what we can't have ( well things have changed now ) Cubans are not the best cigars on the market IME . As mentioned cuttings / seed stock was taken from Cuba to places such a Domincan republic , Jamaica Etc with similar growing climates . These places an others like it produce many fine selections available

I'm all about flavor but not artificial , what flavors do you enjoy ?

I love Nicaraguan cigars they carry coffee / chocolate/ stone fruit taste , illusione is my favorite brand and Cg4 maduro is my favorite select

I hate cigarettes but occasionally enjoy a good cigar

I love Cuban cigars- especially aged ones. Aging my own boxes has really been the smartest way to do it. The premium placed on the aged boxes is crazy. Right now I have some 2011 Quai D'orsay Coronas that are starting to really shine. The Gran Corona, which was discontinued around 2006, I think, is still my favorite cigar, by far. I love 'em, but now I barely smoke. I overdid it and had a health scare so now I am down to one every other week or so during the warm months.

Maybe an aspect of hype with the cuban cigars are that they are prohibited in the us

Sort of like how they say legalization would cut down number of smokers because some might be doing it just cause your not supposed to do it

Illegal cigar

You can't smoke it !

It is forbidden.

I used to smoke those small acid cigars that come 10 to a tin. Not bad at. Haven't had one in a few years.

And to be honest I can't tell the difference between a Cuban and a run of the mill cigar. I appreciate the concept of fine tobacco but I guess I just don't have the palate for it.
