What's new

Finally, my first grow!

Huge update!! Well, it's huge for me, anyway. The C99's germinated way quicker than the A11's, and they're already in little cups as of this morning. The taproots were alot longer, too. Man, I can't wait for my nutes to get here. I had a picture but it's really blurry so I'll wait a few days and I'll post a pic of the little sprouts when they pop the soil. Have a great day, everyone!

good luck! too bad about your luck with a11. i grew it a while back and it was easy & fun. just smoking the last nugget here.

it would be interesting to grow in that kinda climate instead of scandinavia.

thanks for stopping in, guys. Yellowmoon, yeah, that really did suck about the A11, as I was really looking forward to growing and smoking it! Good thing I still have 5 seeds. I'm really glad that I chose to plant in little cups first. I'm still waiting on my nutes, hopefully they'll get here soon. Oh, I did have a question for everyone: What should the ph of my soil be at? I bought a cheapo test from lowes and it keeps saying my ph is around 7. Good or bad? I was thinking it was kinda bad. I don't have access to Dolomite Lime around here and the internet would take too long to get here, I'm afraid. Is there anything else that I can use to lower the ph?

No big update yet, although my seeds will be popping from the soil very soon. (I checked.) I just wanted to say that I just got back from seeing Transformers, and it was FUCKING AWESOME!! I wish they would've put Soundwave in it, but I guess they're saving that for the sequel. Hopefully some pics by Sunday.

Well I just talked to some guy from discount hydro and he said my nutes were on their way(minus the iguana juice...boo), and I was wondering if it would be beneficial to the seedlings that still haven't popped the soil if I gave them a weak feeding of Voodoo Juice? All it's supposed to do is stimulate root growth, so wouldn't that in theory help them even at this stage of growth? Or even a light dose of Piranha or Tarantula? Or all three? Naw, not all three. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

*****WARNING*****

DO NOT FEED SEEDLINGS

Some give a very small dose of super thrive or b1. To be honest there are many ways to germinate seeds. I am not a fan at all of planting directly into the ground(WAY to many factors) even though that is the most widely used method in the world(farms, or mass fields.) I have 90%+ success with soaking in distilled water while the glass is on a heating pad, wait till they split then place in rockwool cubes in a humidity dome, under 2x20 watt flouros. You could sprout them anyway, but the benefit to risk of feeding seedlings isnt worth it. We all have to learn by our own mistakes but maybe you should do some more preparation before trying to grow again. Just a thought.

Well actually, Glazed, I did talk to a few people from AN yesterday after I posted that. They recommended that I give the seedlings a good dose of voodoo juice, and it even says it's okay on the bottle, too. Voodoo Juice isn't a nutrient solution, well, it kinda is, but it's more of an organic root stimulator and it's perfectly fine to use it on seedlings. And trust me, I've been preparing for this for a very long time. Over ten years, I just never actually got the chance to put any of this knowledge to the test. But thanks for the "kind" words, I guess. I'll let everyone know what the results are when I get my stuff.

I apologize, I did not mean to sound condescending. I was in a bad mood :cuss: sorry. Good luck with your grow. Keep it green

No, I apologize. That was very rude of me, and I didn't join this website to be an asshole. I joined to gain friends and insight about growing pot. Turns out, I got my stuff almost twenty minutes after I posted that and I went ahead and tried it. I'll post the results in a few days. Keeping my fingers crossed. Those are nice pics by the way. Sorry again for turning your advice into something negative. That's really not what I'm about.

Well, I found out why the seeds never popped. At least, I think I did. The soil was mixed up wrong. I know I put way too much crap in there. Long story short, the experiment was a failure, but the seeds were dead anyway. Yeah, yeah, glazed, you were right and I was wrong. I should've listened to you. :spank: But at least I did learn something, right? Anyway, I've got 3 C99's and 2 Mikush going right now and I did everything different this time. For instance, I bought a whole new bag of soil and I didn't add anything but perlite, and I didn't feed with anything. Just plain water for now. And check it out!!!

Those are two of my C99's. They've only been in the soil for two days. I'm expecting the other C99 and the two Mikush's to pop tonight or tomorrow. Well, I'm excited all over again. Laters.

Since I just figured out how to use my damn camera, I figured I'd post a close up of C99#1. I can't wait to do more close ups of real leaves and flowers!

Just noticed the third C99 has popped through the soil! This is already my most successful attempt at growing. Let's hope all goes well. Also, let's hope for all females.

This morning when I turned my light on, I saw that one of the Mikush's also is starting to show itself. This is exciting! I guess I really was overcomplicating things before. I never even realised. Just one more seed to go! I'm hoping to see it's bright new face when I come home from work tonight. If it is popping through, I'll take some new pics of all the little babies.

Quick update: All seeds popped the soil, and I've got five little babies (Awww). I'm way too tired/stoned to take pictures right now. Maybe tomorrow.

yea man wait for a week even 2 before you feed them...it all depends on the soil u use...it has 2 be ph'd soil so you dont haveta add lime or something....and most of'm have NPK ratios....you should start with a low NPK ratio for seedlings...if not none.....and 2 be good just add some perlite 2 the mix...

but you learnd something here i guess...hope 2 see'm soon

The soil I use has a very low NPK ratio. Like 0.06-0.03-0.03 or something. I've already got perlite mixed in right now. Gotta pick up some more though and a few more bags of the same soil for when I transplant in a few weeks. Oh, and I wasn't eveh thinking about feeding them until later. I don't wanna screw up again! I definitely learned someting: Just leave the damn things alone and let nature take its course. Thanks for stoppin' by, Core!

Hiya twistedtree
Glad I found this thread - I'll be starting my first C99 grow in a while soon, and looking forward to your plants growing.

Everyone seems to have their own secret sauce recipe for different things. I've become more of a minimalist. I put my freshly rooted seeds in 3 parts FoxFarm Light Warrior ( or perlite ) and 1 part earthworm castings. That will last them 2-4 weeks depending on the strain, then I give them something a bit more substantial. I used to fry a seedling once in a while, not since I switched.

Anyway, nice C99s so far - gonna put my feet up over here in the corner...

Mr. GreenJeans! How's it going? I checked out your thread. Holy cow. I'll admit, I didn't read all 92 pages. I think I read every third or fourth page. That Amnesia 99 looked pretty interesting. Thanks for the nice comments on my C99's. This one's my favorite so far:

Followed by this one:

I haven't heard anything but great reviews on Joey Weed (that's where I got the C99's), plus these seeds were about two years old and I had 100% germination.
