final flush questions

I use fox farm ferts and soil and have never "flushed" before.Flushing soil?I also like to water my plants a few hours or the night before harvest so they will be fully hydrated making for a slow drying period.I get a much smoother smoke that way.

i believe most people confuse this whole business of flushing! the one thing your looking for with flushing is cutting down on the plants N intake towards the end of flower, that means less chlorophyll and you will get a smoother smoke.
all fine so far? the problem with flushing is that you WILL be stressing the plant out, and doing so in the late stages of flower when the buds really do swell. i believe in feeding the plant properly throughout the grow, especially in the last weeks, and that means skipping the flushing altogether. for example correct levels of P is needed for good potency, as well as yield, and you may be stressing the plant by giving it less P thus causing decrease in potency as well as harvest.

and yes, if you want to flush, you wanna do it to both organic as well as inorganic grows.

Thats what I said before,only using invisible words lol.I couldnt have said it better,does a football player stop drinking gatorade in the 4th quarter lol?In hydro I hear its pretty necessary but in soil I've never seen a need to stop ferting,quite the opposite.I wont use a nitrogen fert or cal-mag the last 30 days but they get plenty those first few weeks during the stretch period.

i too prefer hydrated plants when i cut, longer curing makes smoother smoke for sure.
as far as flushing is concerned many growers seem to think they will be smoking the fertiliser and they look at the bottle and think hey i dont really wanna smoke this brown smelly liquid, better have my plants on a diet of neutral water before i cut them. its just a pipe dream, the plants absorb the nutrients at mineral level and the taste of a bud with extra P or one without P wouldnt be distinguished except for maybe by a veteran connoisseur. however what normal mortals will discover without good connoisseurship would definitely be the potency levels in fully fed and properly cured buds!
