one more day to go fellas'!
i am ready for the weekend
last saturday, the mrs made some brownies for her little adventure weekend thing with the girl
i kind of left them alone because they were more for her; but it turns out she saved some just for the two of us
/busted out the lot of them the other day but i dident really sample
i tried them tonight...
do you guys see my hat spinning here?!?
oh man, they potent, man these things will blow your hair back
i only tried a little piece but we have almost a whole pan full for the weekend
my plan is to get really high this weekend and hopefully enjoy a nice walk in the rain!
plus, they we are going to this place called golden corral on sat with
a friend and his brother
ive never been there but ive seen their commercials on tv
/i am so ready to smash i cant wait

some interesting thoughts on defoliation guys
/to defoliate or not is a hot and often polarizing topic online
im glad the tribe is cool and we can talk about this kind of thing like adults
/plus we all know p'fan pulls down the weight and our boy rhode is a solid man in the garden
they grow in different styles and environments, but i think they both have something valuable to add and good stuff to add to the mix

lets finish off this week strong guys
spring is right around the corner
Thanks Pop Rocks We're not so proud of ourselves here we can't be told another view. Rather than tolerate another point of view I relish in it. I find the richly bizarre differences in all our lives so fulfilling. My Grandaddy always said there's more than one way to skin a cat. Whatever that meant.
I think I need your recipe for brownies. I need to smoke less when we travel and they do keep in the cooler. Some of the clan sent Big Mamma brownies from down Winchester way for Christmas they were killer. I think she uses that ky roadkill skunk to get her flavor and parched black walnuts ground fine. My white skunk by long bottom leaf may be a good substitute. :tiphat:

we are all here to share and learn, (in addition to just having some fun)
its crazy how much people refuse to open their mind and be open to new ideas; why not listen to others and hear they have to say about what works for them
not only do we live in different climates, but we also employ different mediums as well
so of course we will all go about things a little different
but make no mistake, we all want the same end result; to produce potent, tasty herb
i couldent agree with you more bud, about how different we all are, but still have so much in common
plus i just like to talk about pot!

Good afternoon gentlemen.

I am with you guys. It's very important to keep an open mind and not "buy in" to one side or the other. Weather it's politics, growing or anything else in life as soon as you close your mind you stop growing and learning and that is a shame. We all have things to learn from each other and that is why we are here on icmag. I'm glad we have this connection and can have these discussions.

we might have a few more rainy days in store but at least the coldest temps are behind us
how are you holding up there bud?

its great that we can all share our ideas here
even if we dont agree on everything, it dosent make one person right or wrong
i know ive learned from ICMag and this thread and enjoy coming here to hear what works for others
so i went to the golden corral this weekend with some friends
the food was just ok, most of what i tried was either really bland or really salty
/the fried shrimp was good, but i wasnt going to just eat shrimp all night
most of the other stuff was ok, but i was hoping to eat a few more plates
im glad we went and me and the mrs had a great time all in all

Hey Pop Rocks, pretty much took a nose dive after lunch. I even napped for 20 minutes on lunch.I was going to tell you that Golden Corral was pretty lame. I was hoping it was better round your way. I am not fond of buffets, they mess with my stomach. Fast food is the same, in n out, and del taco are about all i can handle now.I must be getting old. The wierd thing is i can eat jalapenos and chilie with no problems. They just opened a Cracker barrel here, first in California. Just like most restaurants around here, sucks. The wife went with her mom, no good. I think it's the lame ass people here. I have been to a Cracker barrel in Az it was awesome, not here. I am flipping the next round tonight. The sour grapes will go into flower in a couple weeks. Hopefully I can finish everything befor the heat comes.

my man, p'fan!
at least now i can say ive been to the golden corrla and wont have to get all excited when their commercials come on the tv
its funny you mentioned cracker barrel, because that was another place i wish would come to Ca
that sucks that the one by you isnt that great
its getting harder and harder to find some good old home cooking here in california, man without paying like its fine dining
maybe its something about cali, because ive been to cracker barrel in other states and it was pretty good but i guess i will stick to the mom and pop diners for my comfort foods or just make them myself
are you running another round of the mendo'breath too or is this go round going to be strictly sour grape

The big room is mostly mendobreath, I mixed some of my clones up apparently, so now I have to number everything and clone all 40 plants and then sort it out come next harvest. Fucking rookie stoner mistake, wtf. As long as I get the mendobreath to mom I will be ok. The new unnamed og is fucking sick ass yielding thing of beauty. I have been lusting over it for 6-7 years. The new og will be most of the crop I start in October.

The sour grapes are going to be flowered under the new led light I got. One guy was claiming he got 15 ounces. I probably won't break any records because the plants are going to be small. I got 2 runts the rest are on their 3rd leaf set.

Hey Packer fan
I'm glad the new OG is making you happy. You were right about the gogi being finicky I finally have 5 of 12 looking pretty fair. one turned brown at the base and fell over. I propped it up and put dry soil around to keep it up It stayed up several days and now its down again. I hope I get something from the five remaining. the LBL cross is going strong though as is the elphinstone so I'm not sure what the gogi wants. The white skunk by LBL is near the size of the others and It was started two weeks later. The seeds were small and looked weak but they really had vigor. The gogi were big fat beautiful seeds. I soaked them in a towel for 36 hrs and half of them cracked right away those were the only ones to break ground. After all the hype I expected more.

Seems to me the snow lotus crosses are just hard to dial in. It may be different from clone who knows. I ran goji, and love triangle both had hard leaf claw. With fluffy buds, made good rosin, but couldn't compete with jungle spice and black triangle. I was running canna coco a and b, which has a higher level of nitrogen so that could be it. I have seen people grow some monsters outside. Mabey they are more suited to the great outdoors . The g13hp crosses seem to be grower friendly.

I had great results from the lbl crosses I ran. I think you will like them. Loran found a serious stud in the lbl.

Good afternoon gentlemen.

@pop_rocks. I feel a bit lagged out too, funny how one hour makes such a difference. I don't like the time change either but not much we can do about it. The silver lining is that spring is coming and it's nice to have sunlight after 6pm. I'm holing up ok, workouts going great and it's harvest week so going to be busy. No roots on the cuts after 7 days but maybe some bumps and they still look great so hopefully soon.
When you mentioned Golden Corral I didn't make the connection but it's not known for good food here. It's like an old county buffet where quantity is prized above quality, I've been to OCB but not golden coral but I've got some friends who have warned me to stay away. I'm glad you guys had a good time and that the shrimp was good.
The week is off to a busy start for me and we are getting snow today but I said fuck it and rode the motorbike to work today anyway.

@Packerfan. I can confirm that most Cracker Barrels are good places for country style that tastes a lot like home cooked food. That is strange that the one by you sucks. I suppose if there isn't anyone competent in the kitchen the food would suck. Just another reason to try to stick with mostly small family owned diners for that. It sounds like all is well in your garden and you are getting some great results. Keep up the good work.

@Rodehazrd. I'm sorry to hear that your unhappy with the gogi. Maybe the girls you end up with will make up for the lack of quantity with exceptional quality. It sounds like your having a lot better luck with the elph and LBL cross. Let's keep our fingers crossed for lots of nice lady's from the 3 strains you have going.

sounds like you have your hands full having to take cuts from 40 plants!
im sure we have all been guilty of not labeling well or the labels becoming illegible
the good news is you still have the genetics and im sure you will figure out what is what
so you never settled on a name for your new OG?
maybe after a few smoke sessions with the new stuff you will get a better idea of what to call it
keep us posted on how the new led performs
ive never tried them and am still interested in maybe adding a new light, but am in no hurry
your experience will be a good road map and im sure we will all learn a thing or two

you get on with your bad self, f'nut!
ride that motorcycle with a big grin on your face
/but be sure t stay safe brother
im probally about another three weeks or so before i take down my first plants
two of the new strains are doing great
they are the indica plants in the bunch and look like they could be something interesting
the sativas are doing ok but one of them looks like she isnt going to be a keeper already
of the two i have in flower, one is frosting up and looks like she has potential
the other is still all white pistals ,very spindly and thin; that bitch will probably want to go 10+ wks
im just going to push her to the back of the tent to let her finish and fill the rest of the space with my next run
here is a pic i took a week or two ago i think?

picture.php

View image in gallery

you can totally see the difference
i will try and take another pic once the lights go on here
it will show how far along the indica is compared to the other plant
some plants take longer to root and as long as the cuts are still green and lively they should be ok
yeah, the golden corral seems to be a total quantity over quality thing
i guess i will just have to make my own home style cooking from now on and just stick to the chinese buffets when going out to eat
hope the harvest goes well friend, may your fingers be sticky and your jars full!

Sorry to hear the cracker barrel sucks out there. I rely on them for a bowl of beans and greens when we are on the road. I rarely order anything else. Those toothpick holders they have make a great joint holder for travel too seals up nice and you have a place for the roach.

Good afternoon friends.

@pop_rocks. Yes I'm trying to force spring to come by refusing to drive the car. So far I've had a bunch of cold rides and no spring but weather people say 50's by the weekend so maybe it's helping. I always have a grin on my face while riding, and I get my best thinking done on rides too. I try to be safe but I ride fast and aggressive and know that every ride could be my last.
Your garden looks great buddy. The difference between the indica and sativa leaning plants is really easy to see in that pic. Are they the same strain? Whenever I see the really sativa looking plants I always wonder if the buds ever get fat and if they get dense because they always look wispy. Please throw up more pics of those sativa Dom plants I'd love to see how they look at harvest time. 10 weeks isn't so bad for something you are growing for the stash, I hope they are awesome. I'm taking down 2 plants tonight so I'll be busy but it's time well spent.

@Rodehazrd. Thanks for the tip on the joint holder, I will grab some next time I get me some food there.

no they are from two different strains
both show some variation, but the sativa one is interesting and kind of extreme
i love a good sativa head and they usually yield well, but they take so long indoors
it just happens that the way i have the plants stacked, the two are close enough to really see the difference
i will make it a point and get some more pics of the sativas, brother and keep you guys updated on how they grow out
/maybe something to consider for my friends yard if the smoke is all that
i know exactly what you mean about doing your best thinking while riding
i get the same feeling on the mountain bike and hiking sometimes; like everything is distilled into that moment and your mind is super clear
/its also fun to just zone out on the environment and the feeling of moving
keep wearing that grin brother!

Pop Rocks those are some nice looking girls. I do love a long skinny leaf. Looks like a Bangi Haze I ran last year. Mine made some rock hard buds. I still have 7 seeds and plan to pop them with the mexican sativas I got from bodhi in my fall run this year. Mid summer is just too much for me to keep cool so I don't plan to try this year. Hopefully the gogi and the skunk do well enough to last into the fall.
I have an eye on a south slope outdoors this year. Its pretty steep but I think I can get a hundred gallons of mix down there to make a bed for one good bush. It only gets about 8 hours of sun but might be worth the work.
Fiddy just get the beans and greens at CB its hard to screw that up. I get fresh chopped onions and relish and cornbread. always good. cheep:tiphat:

Good afternoon brothers.

@pop_rocks. Yes that skinny leaf girl looks like she is extremely sativa. Looking forward to seeing how she grows out. Maybe someday I'll try something like it, I think I have some Lemmon Thai seeds that are close to 100% sativa. Or maybe I can find somewhere to put them outside this summer. Putting one or two in your buddies yard is a great idea.
Yep isn't it interisting that some of our best thinking is done while riding, which is something that demands a lot of attention as well. I also notice a lot of good thought on my daily dog walks and during my stationary bike riding at the club too. Maybe increased activity stimulates the mind or something. Keep up the good work buddy.

@Rodehazrd. Beans and greens sound great and would be diet friendly as well, I'll try them sometime. I think I've only had breakfast at the Cracker Barrel and pancakes and biscuits and gravy were good but I don't eat much of that kind of stuff these days. I hope the south slope works out its nice to have some sun grown around.

Jungle updat: looks like I'm getting roots on most of my cuts so I'll be putting them in soil soon for the next flower run. I took down the first two 91xSL's last night, very easy trim and looks like they should be a little denser than last run from seed.

i will have to post up some recent pics of the two plants
while checking on them this morning the indica looked like it only has a couple weeks to go, if that
the sativa is filling in nicely but looks like it could go another month to six weeks
i will also get a few pics of the extreme bending i had to do to her to keep her at a reasonable height!
i mean most of the fold are at 90' angles and some are even more
/after crimping the stems i would just let the whole branch flop
and she is still pushing a lot closer to the light than i like (you will see how some of the tops are super elongated, sure signs of heat stress)
im talking to my friend who gave them to me, hoping i can share more, but out of respect for AcB' i will have to keep the lineage under my hat for now
thanks for the comments thoe and i enjoy sharing the progress
glad to hear your cuts are showing roots,f'nut
thats great to hear your initial harvest went well and was easy to trim
early ripening and easy to trim sounds like a good plant
cant wait to hear how she smokes!

southern slopes are ideal for planting and the harder it is to get to the better, rode'
its might be hard to get that much soil mix to the spot without leaving a trail, but if anyone can pull this off i bet it would be you, brother
the limited light might be a problem, especially later in the season when the angle of the sun changes
how much pruning back of the surrounding foliage would you feel comfortable doing?
100g of soil would support one hell of a bush and as long as she gets enough sun late in flower you could really pull down a nice bush

we have just about made it through the first week of the time change
i was just telling mrsChicky that the first week is always the hardest
plus its been really rainy here these past mornings so that just makes it even harder to get out of bed
/the days are nice and sunny thoe so we cant really complain too much
hope you all are wrapping up your week and ready to start the weekend
we got the corned beef all ready for saturday and are having a few friends over
i am read to get the fun started

green wishes to all our friends out there!

Hope this post finds all the jungle bunnies in good health and fortune. Gotta pick your brains tho as I respect all of your talent and am not scared to admit fault. I just finished up a run with a couple plants and am absolutely ashamed of the end results. I have seen the genetics grown out on other threads and damn did I come up short... the flowers came out very ‘leafy’ and very airy or loose. Can anybody put in their .02 as to where I went wrong. Lack of nutrients? Lock out? I ran these outside so I don’t think the lighting is an issue. Any help would be appreciated

Get me some more information. We all have bad crops from time to time. Don't be hard on yourself. Leafey could be excess nitrogen. Did you get get any fade? What nutes and medium? Temps?

Hey badfishey sorry to hear you're unhappy, were those clones or a seed run? And how did you amend the soil I have read low k makes fluffy buds I will read up In jorge's encyclopedia the only book I have about weed specifically and report back. The only fluffy run I had a new Horti bulb fixed . Would changing light have an effect on you down there? Have you harvested in March before?:tiphat:
