Hey Jungle Dwellers,

Long time since I posted, life is busy and blah, blah blah, sorry missed ya all.

And what A day to look in, Fiddy I remember way back you saying you were seeing the Dead at Folsom, so cool, I love and miss living in Boulder. Fireworks are usually in the stadium on the 4th, we would ride are bikes to and from, great bike paths all through the city. And Phish, I was just in Vt for the 4th and Phish was in Saratoga on the 3rd, my nephews went, I was bummed I missed it, never seen them, but saw the dead :). Glad you enjoyed Boulder, & yep Taxes are high, but go outside of Boulder city limits and they drop a little, Boulder's are the highest of all city taxes, fyi.

Fiddy, one of the reason's I wanted to drop in is, I am dog sitting, and have been on and off for a few weeks, but it's just she and I for the next 10 days or so, as I am bachelor living with my wife traveling. The dog is a almost 2 year old Labor-doodle, and she is a sweet sweet dog, and can run like the wind. I take her to the park and when she gets to run with other dogs it is really fun to watch, unless she runs into you, haha. Anyway, glad Eggo is as good as he seemed he was going to be when I hibernated for the winter and some.

Lastly, I told you I was going to do an auto run, and I tried but nothing sprouted out of 10 seeds, I think it may not have been warm enough, so I ran clones again, but now I have some afterthought autos going.

Packerfan, I grew up in Orange County and Goat Hill Tavern is not just a dive bar, but a Local Institution, Treasure and Landmark, you fell into one hell of a spot, that's awesome.

I'll try not to be such a stranger, btw, I spin vinyl in my cave and I have "Wake of the Flood" on right now.

Greetings rocker.
Welcome back brother!
I forgot you were a Boulder guy. I've had such fun there the last couple years! This time we really had my car and our bikes and more time to explore. We stayed up the mountain a few miles from Nederland in a sick Airbnb. Just beautiful. And the people hanging out on the banks of Boulder creak most of the way down canyon dr (119) was super cool. The late spring and all the rain had that river really moving and tubing was banned the whole time we were there. Except for the hail storm that hit us on Friday (more about that when I post pics and my story of the trip) everything was perfict. Except that we had to leave that is.
I'm glad you are enjoying the dog sitting. She sounds like a great dog. Anything mixed with lab is usually a good mix for a dog. Eggo is doing well and has become part of the family.
The only autoflower run I did was with afterthought genetics. It came out really well and was like my third grow ever. Your in good hands with AB. I look forward to hearing how this grow goes for you.

tomorrow is friday and im ready for the weekend
tribute bands are always fun but i think you will like the real phish a lot more
jam bands arent really my thing but i had a friend back in the day who was really into live music; phish was one of his favorite bands
to hear him discribe it, its not just about teh music, but its almost like a family type thing where you see people you know and reunite with old friends
cant wait to check out the pics brother
i will have to check out the pax vapes
i like smoking bud but it would be cool to have for the reasons you listed
the laws are weird across the nation and i think a lot of it is based on the local vibe overall
i remember growing up here in california and even before it was legal pot was pretty much ndb if you played your cards right
but some places are very anti drug and people are afraid of things they dont know anything about or dont like
one day it will be totally legal just like cigarettes or booz, but you will alwys have those who will still think its bad
be safe my man and keep it toasty

Good afternoon pop.
I'm ready for the weekend too brother. This week flew by for me. Getting back to town and back into the routine has been pretty smooth.
Your buddy is right, it's not just the music, it's the fellowship and all the friends you make. It's so cool to see people from all over the country (and world) at these diffrent venues all over year after year. Music can be an emotional expreience for many and that helps bond us together. Deadheads are family and I'm sure that it's the same with other bands that have a traveling fan base.
There is a time and place to stay low profile with smoking, probably even in leagl states. Many places don't allow public use and it's nice to be able to catch a buzz anywhere you need to. In the bigger city's here you are pretty safe, even though it's not leagl, but the smaller towns is where you have to be carful here. And, for instance on our ride home from Colorado we wanted to be extra carful so we mostly stuck to the vape which has little smell. The last thing we wanted was to have the car searched in Nebraska or Iowa.
I hope you have a great weekend brother!

Fiddy,

Thanks for the welcome, Glad your trip was fun, and yes the hail can be crazy at times, car damage can be expensive too. Creek must have really been moving for them to ban tubing, high water is dangerous, but so fun to watch it flow by while biking along the path next to it. Nederland is super cool, and for us old dudes, Carabou Ranch recording studios was back in those hills, lots of great 70's music recorded there, (Lennon, E.John, J.Walsh,etc.)https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caribou_Ranch
it's such a beautiful area, I imagine it was quite inspiring to the musicians, and a great place to vacation.

You also did well to be weary of driving out of Colorado, heard many stories, as I am sure you have of people being busted.
Have a good week-end and same to all dwellers of Fiddy's jungle.

Good afternoon rocker.
Those storms blow down from the mountains quickly and the hail did catch us out a bit, luckily the concert was only delayed for an hour and went on after that.
The river was flowing like crazy man. Late spring melt off and a bunch of rain had her raging. We wanted to do a river tube while we were there but will have to do that next time.
I was so impressed with Ned that I want to live there. I'm sure I'll never be able to afford it but I can dream.
I will check out that caribou ranch for sure, thanks for the liknk!
We had a friend that got popped with 10 plus pounds comming throug Nebraska a few years back. He was an idiot, speeding and smoking bowls on the road when he should have been a professional about it. We had shrooms and probably just enough weed with us that it would have been a huge hassle if we'd been searched. Gotta stay with a pack in traffic and not get isolated or go tool fast to stay out of trouble on that part of the ride..

I defenatly like to keep it low key and fly under the radar. Not much good ever came from drawing attention to ones self, but plenty of bad can happen if you do.
I went to phish on Saturday night and had a great time. First off I think it was nice to just let the night happen. When going to the last few DandC shows its been a lot of planning and trying to keep a schedule. On sat we just let it happen. We headed to the show after work and a stop for supplies. We wernt in a hurry. We geot into the lot with a coup,e hours to chill. We didn't have tickets but knew we'd find some. It turned out that the people across the isle from us had some bad gas station burgers on thire way up and got food poisoning. They sold us their tickets for under face value and we were set. We dicided to go into the venue a little late to let the line wind down. It was perfict and we only had a wait a few minutes to get in. And security was far better than the last 4 times I'd been there for dead and co. The music always pretty good and the fans were the same peeps I'd see at a dead show. I'm sure I saw more dead shirts and hats than phish gear. I was about to give up on alpine valley due to the issues with security and long lines but this good experience has given me fath.
After all the phun on Saturday I just took it easy on Sunday and took care of some stuff around the house.
I hope you had a great weekend and your week is off to a good start!

that sounds like a fun show man!
that sucks the other people got sick but it totally worked out in your favor and you helped them out by taking the tix off their hands
what a fun night you guys had and it sounds like your idea of not planning went a long way
sometimes the best times just happen on their own and all we can do is hold on for the ride
its crazy hot here the past couple days and i can safely say summer has turned up the heat
a friend who has family in wisco said she talked to her parents recently
they said that its been really warm in their area and the mosquitoes have been especially thick this year
i hope your week is off toa great start and you have a good one brother

Good morning pop.
Saturday night was great in a couple ways. For the first time in a few years I am looking forward to seeing the next show at my home venue. Also, next time phish is around I'll know that it's a phun time and to get my ass there and enjoy. I felt bad for the couple who got sick too but they got a good part of their cash back on the tickets and they seemed happy about that.
I'm glad summer has finally come around for you and it's found it's way here as well. Last week was hot like upper 80's and a couple days at about 90. This week the forcast looks like mostly 90's with a day or two upper 90's close to triple digits. It has also been fairly dry last week or so. We had such a wet spring that the conditions are perfict for mosquitos. And we have a bumper crop now that it has warmed up. If it stays dry for a while the mosquitos won't be hatching new and the old ones don't live too long.
The dry has kept the mtn bike trails open for me as well and I've been getting some rides in before work during the week.

Greetings friends.

I wanted to share a little about my trip out west and post some pics.
Here is the deck at the place we rented. The owner was pro weed but didn't want people smoking inside the place so he built this deck to come out an puff on. He even had pipes and all the accessories you would want for your puffing pleasure. A lot of people fly into Colorado and don't want to bring anything illegal on the flight so it's great to have a pipe waiting for you at your rental. The view from the porch was amazing and there were an unbelievable amount of hummingbirds. The hummingbirds went through about a quart of that liquid food a day.

On Thursday we went mountain biking. We really wanted to go to some legendary trails at west magnolia but we read a few reviews that made it clear that it's was really easy to get lost there. Most people were recommending that your first ride or two there would be with a local to show you the way. There are many loops that twist in all directions and it's really too easy to get turned around. We didn't want a bad experience and wanted nothing to do with being lost in the wilderness so we decided to find a more appropriate spot. Just down the mountain and almost to Boulder is a great spot. We did a loop there and had a blast. It was a lot diffrent than the trails here. The first half was mostly downhill which was fun. The second half was all climbing and really challenged us. Much longer climbs but not as rocky and rutted out as the super technical ones here. At 6000 feet I felt pretty good.

Friday was the first show day so we took it nice and easy in the morning and headed down to Boulder around 11am or so. We had some shopping to do. We needed joints because we were too lazy to roll any. We also needed a strap for my bike rack because one brok on our way out and my bro needed a rain poncho because there was a small chance of rain in the forcast. We made our way around and did our shopping and got to the stadium before the lots opened but got into a lot early and took a couple laps of the aria on foot. Lots of vendors were allready set up on shakedown. As showtime approached the weather was so nice that we forgot about the chance of rain. The previous few nights we'd been there it just sprinkled a few drops every evening and we though at most that would be all we would see. After getting into the stadium and onto the field petty close to the stage we were ready for a great show. They came on and played the first song and most of the second when Bobby said that there was some weather comming in and they had to "chill out for a couple minutes". It was raining very lightly and people were enjoying it was refreshing. Then it got a lot harder and the lightning came. Then it got to be a downpour and super windy. They were telling us to leave the field and stands and head for shelter. We were all the way at the center and the tunnels inside were at the top of the stands so we couldn't be further away. We were going to be soaked anyway so we, along with another 100 or so just stayed down on the field and danced in the rain. Then the rain turned to hail. We had to take cover behind some portable bathrooms for a few minutes and then it was just a little rain again. For a while we ended up under a tarp with about 30 other people. Everyone had a great attitude about it and it was kind of fun. I do feel sorry for the people who took doses or shrooms as the weather was kind of scary for a while and that could have been a bummer for them. After an hour or so the band came back out and rocked it. They played the rest of the first and all of the second set without a break. It was a great show. We were wet and cold but had a great time. I'll never leave my rain gear in the car again.
Saturday was just like Friday. We had breakfast in Ned and came down to Boulder. We hung out in the lot and met a bunch of friendly people form all over the country. The weather was great all night and so was the music. The stadium was absolutely packed on Saturday night.

Sunday we packed up the car and headed down the mountain one last time. We stopped to take pics at a couple places on our way down. Almost at the bottom of canyon dr is a place where people hang out nest to the river. We had been ther on Thursday and it was packed with 100's of peeps hanging out on the banks. The river was really flowing so we couldn't get in much but there were a few little pools. The whole way home I just couldn't stop thinking about how beautiful it is in those mountains and how much I want to go back as soon as possable.

Hey Fiddy glad you enjoyed the mtns. I just love to stay at the Y in Estes Park and drive around up there. One late summer day several years ago we drove down the Thompson river valley after a few days of hard rain. The water had been 20 feet above the road and most of the homes were gone. Big changes fast in those hills.
@Poprocks We harvested a lot of our birds yesterday. We waited too long 8 weeks. The birds were too big to go in a 1 gal freezer bag so we cut the wings and drumsticks off a lot of them. Finally got some 2 gal and things went faster. We dressed 31 birds in four hours of work. Would have finished all 49 but packing crew fell behind and it was too hot to have them on ice for long. Most were 7.5 to 8 pounds. Next time we will likely go 6 weeks.
We got this two at a time plucker for just over $300 and picked up this gangster grade three burner grill for $18 at a yard sale.

things are looking great for both of you

ive never seen a chicken plucker rhode, how does it work?
/does it rotate the carcass and the screws remove the feathers?
that sounds like a nice haul for 8wks of care;you must be close to near 300-400# dressed bird
/plus all the feathers and gizzards you can handle
plus these are fresh and home raised, i bet they taste really good
what is the three burner grill for? were you cooking up the chow for your work crew or do you have other plans for that big boy?
looking really good brother!
just ring the dinner bell when its ready and fiddy and i will be right over

that venue looks like a lot of fun fiddy and it sounds like you had a great time at the show
plus now you know you will have phun at the phish show and can look foreward to them next time
the pad you guys rented sounds perfect and i hope you enjoyed your time in the mountains
love that view man and can imagine kicking back and burning a few down and watching the sun set
you are so right about not wanting to travel with parephenalia and thats so cool of the land lord to keep a few pieces stocked for his guests to use
those look like some fun trails and i hope you enjoyed riding new trails; from the looks of that toppo map you got some good riding in
i agree that its better to stay close to the marked trails and not stray too far off
still, its always fun to touch some new dirt
we havent really been hitting the trails like we usually do this year, with all the pack hiking and the young one graduating we have just been up to other things
the girl is in pa right now for orientation and will be leaving for school later this summer
the mrs is planning on traveling out with her for the first few days to help he get settled in
then its just me and the ol'lady
were going to be living the dream!

hope everyone is having a great week and living easy!

Hey Pops
The grill heats a big pot of water or two to 150 degrees. We dipped the birds in there with a little soap for about a minute. and throw them in the plucker. Flip the switch. The bottom spins and bangs it around against those rubber posts. Cleans two birds in about 45 seconds. It has a hose hookup that sprays the bird with cold water and flushes the feathers out the bottom slot into a milk crate. When the water temp and timing is right they hardly even have pin feathers left. It made the worst part (pucking) into the easiest part of the harvest.
We made sure to get all the biggest ones first so the ones we do next weekend won't be so huge. Their breast get so big they have trouble walking as they age. I wondered if my 15 would be enough but these birds dressed are over 7 pounds thats several meals for us so I think its plenty.
The last few weeks we got a lot of manure which I plan to use in my girls. Any ideas on the feathers?

thanks for the run down brother! i see the how it works now
ive seen people use the pot of hot water to loosen up feathers before when plucking them by hand;i should have put it all together myself <derp>
15 birds are yours? thats a lof of geed eating for sure
who gets the rest?
you can compost the feathers with the poop and it makes a really good mix
feathers have a lot of nutrients plus i think something about thier natural structure helps loosen up the soil

Thanks man! We didn't make it to Estes this time but we went there last year. I think we swam in that big reservoir in town. We were looking for a disc golf course that we never found and might not even exist. Absolutely beautiful!
I've never plucked a chicken but it seems like it would be a lot of work. Good think you got that plucker.

I was really impressed with the accommodations in Colorado. We seem to be able to find these places and they are just about the same price as a hotel but you get so much more. The view from that porch was awesome. I started each day with a bowl looking out at the wilderness up there. Big props to the landlord for being pro cannabis and having some pieces available. Also there are moos and bear that frequent his lot but we didn't get to see any. The moose are more of a spring and fall thing and he had to scare the Bears away a week before we got there. He told us that ther was a cub that kept coming around looking for food. The late spring they are having means less food for the Bears this year. I would have loved to pet a bear cub but I know it's not good for them to get too comfortable around people.
I think I would have been down to ride at west magnolia but my bro has let his fitness slip a bit and if we would have been out for several hours trying to find our way it would have been a bit much for him. There were a lot of people riding there and we could have tagged along with someone on their way back, but we would have had to have been in good enough shape to keep up with them at over 8000 feet. Lots of opportunity for issues there.
That's cool that the girl is going to school out east. It will be interesting for her to see a very diffrent part of the country than she is use to. I hope she likes it and does well. Plus, you can go to visit her and get an authentic cheese steak at pats or genos in Philadelphia.
Happy hump day brother.

ive eeen to philly before and i had fun
one of the first things i saw was abig billboard for those baked pretzels and i knew i was in the right place
plus the city is super historic and i really dig that kind of thing
i just hope she falls in with a good group of kids and gets the most out of her education
im sure she will have fun too
i would be scared to get close to a baby bear, i hear the sows can get very aggressive and i would want nothing to do with a mama bear in full on protect mode
but you are right that they can become nuisances especially when they are looking for food and frequenting human habitat
thats cool that you got to ride a new area and im sure your bro gave it his all
now i feel like i need to get in some saddle time; im probably way off my best as far as the cardio goes
but on a good note, im down to under 200# and i look and feel great
ive been doing push ups too before bed, i try and do 25 a night
i used to be able to bang out a hundy np, but thats going t take some time
hope you are having a great week and things are wrapping up nicely for you

Good afternoon pop.
I haven't been to most east cost states yet but I want to check them out sometime. My bro went to philly and said the same thing as you, that there is a lot of historic shit there. I need to plan a trip out that way and see some of that part of the country that was first settled. Sounds like an idea for another vacation to me LOL.
I hope she does well and makes some good friends too! I was way too immature to even finish high school when I was 18 but girls are usually further along than boys at that age.
I've heard about how protective those momma bears can be but I don't think the mom was around. The landlord mentioned that he had to use a rake to persuade the bear to leave his deck a couple of times. But it would be selfish of me to try to make friends with a wild anamal like that, if they get use to people they usually get too curious and end up shot or worse.
That's awesome that you are looking and feeling great! It feels so good to get in shape. I spent years gaining weight and not realizing that I wasn't feeling good about myself. I'm so glad that I dropped the weight and can do all the things now that I wasn't for those years. Get those legs going brother, you'll feel even better.

Quick update.

Quick update.

Greetings friends.

I am looking forward to growing out some new genetics for the first time on this next flower run. A couple months or so ago I popped 6 cobra lips seeds (thanks Pack). I ended up with 2 girls and took clones from them a few weeks ago. I have 4 clones that I potted up into 12" pots right before the trip out west. After about 16 days in the new pots they went into the flower tent yesterday morning for their first 12 hour day. The girls are pretty big compared to the last few batches of plants that I flipped so I hope I have the head room under the light. Here are a couple pics of them.
