Feminized seeds go hermie?

No problem I grow my own it happens especially on a phone or tablet I have done it also.

Props to you for atleast coming forward and saying you made the mistake. I always make sure I do the same if I accidentally rated the post as unhelpful.

Not missing a thing Ron.

One of the many reasons that feminized seed are made is to get plants, as close to the “original” as possible, so often the pollen source is either a sister plant or reversed from the mother. Progeny from this inbreeding are more likely to have expressions like the parent plant but also recessive traits are more likely to be found. If the parent plant had any tendency to inter-sexed types then you’re likely to see them. It is not a function of the reversal but of inbreeding that you get more “hermies”.

Thanks. I get the basics of breeding but dont have the time/space to really devote to it. I grow from feminized seeds and cuttings only. I was addressing the poster who wrote that successive cuts from a mother plant will get "stronger" or more stable.

One of the best plants I have grown came from a self pollinating plant that was grown from a feminized seed. The inbreeding/selfing brought out the best qualities of the strains that made up the hybrid but it would grow a few full male flowers early in flowering.

Not a big deal if I caught them but I had to cull it because I couldnt risk missing one and ending up with a ton of seeds.

It was interesting to see how cuttings from the same mother would grow differently. Some would pop a few male flowers, some never did.

Most females will show single pollen sacs (naners) if flowered long enough. I will find one or two when I am manicuring. I have yet to see a true hermaphrodite. Most people are referring to late flowering "naners" when they say "hermie" These arent herms, just attempts at self pollination and is pretty common.

Im not sure how I feel about stress causing "hermies" Most of what I read is just conjecture- people looking for a reason AFTER they see naners. IMO its just something that happens with dioecious plants.

I dont mind a few naners in late flowering. I dont even mind a few seeds at harvest. If a strain is phenomenal is all other aspects, I can deal.
