Day 21 Bloom Update

Unit:

Bud:

Bud:

CMJ5:

Data:

Oh the fun of mixed grows! I have only a couple plants (Chemmy Jones) that are much taller than the rest. CMJ5 is the only one that had to be tied down.

I love seeing all the different bud formations and smells. This is MY kinda fishing! Lots of promising structures. We should be just about done with stretch.

Right now, I would say the Purple Cheddar plants are winning the beauty contest.

I have pruned all the plants and recorded their individual data. In most cases I removed between 5 and 7 bottom branches. I also had a "pruning incident". Prolly the worst mistake I made in years. I was just about done and working on the back row, when I was distracted and lopped off the top of a plant. It's been while since my own stupidity made me gasp in horror. It was the poor plant in traction. It has one lil sprig left for the smoke test to grow out. Tho if I had to choose one plant out of the grow to do something so bad to, it would be this one. Since I only planned to get smoke data, and rerun if promising because the plant was already compromised.

It will be another week before everyone gets trellised. I want to see how the plants use space and get the stems as strong as possible, waving in the breeze.

As always, your comments and questions are welcome.

Chemmy Jones:

Cream Cheese:

Purple Cheddar:

Data:

Stretch is done! Everyone is strapped into position for maximum light.

Starting to get some stronger aromas. There is a cream cheese that really smells like cream cheese! One purple cheddar has that nose tweaking bit of GDP I love. A Cali-O has a perfect orange zest perfume.

Now it's time to build bud and there are already a few contenders.

Day 35 Bloom Update

Purple Cheddar:

Chemmy Jones:

Cream Cheese:

Data:

Half way done!

I took the nutes up close to 500 and got tip burn on several individuals. My target for the rest of the grow will be around 480.

The Purple Cheddar is chunking hard with heavy trichomes. They all have a light to medium GDP smell.

The Chemmy Jones towers over everyone. Buds like corncobs. 2 of the 4 have interesting smells, and all have medium to heavy trichome coverage.

The trichome queen of the grow is Cream Cheese. The phenotype above smells like creamy french vanilla ice cream. She is simply stunning to behold.

Day 42 Bloom Update

Chunky Cream Cheese:

CMC3 Stands Out:

Purple Cheddar Chunk:

Data:

The girls continue to eat moderately. I have some colors starting to show up as the trichomes and buds continue building.

The short version of Cream Cheese pictured above makes cheesey smelling crystally chunks. CMC5, the taller version, stands out from the crowd. It's Ice Cream aroma has added an acrid snap to the smell.

The Purple Cheddar continues to thicken, while developing a dank sweet smell. Leaves and stems are starting to purple.

The Chemmy Jones plants are just monsters. Huge buds with more trichomes and smells every day.

Thank you all for the kind words and interest in the grow.

It will be very interesting to see if the tops will show roots faster than a regular branch cutting. I belive that at this stage all the appical hormones from the tops will have some influence on the clones growth.
From my own personal experience in cloning(it's been 16 yrs now ) the top appical shoot is the worst part of the plant to clone. In my experience they always take longer, and that's if they root. Alot of the time they end up dying. In my experience side shoots and even some lower ones clone the best especially, if it's only as big around as the inside of a bic pen(the part that holds the ink).
Anyhoo, aero man you are an inspiration to me. I currently have a setup, but it's shared. When the time comes and i can have my own setup, i wanna run an aero table just like your's, and i love the strains you grow, we have the same pallette:biggrin:

It's true that using young tops as clones is riskier. My success rate goes down, but I still almost never lose one - tho they may fall behind. This allows me to look at the most candidates the fastest - so it is a risk I take.

Those that fall behind aren't lost. If their sisters show promise, they get another shot at testing.

Happy New Year to All!

Day 49 Bloom Update

Unit:

PCR:

Purpin PCR:

Cali-O:

Data:

The girls have slowed their eating here in the seventh inning stretch. I'm still PK boosting for another week or so as this grow starts its final approach for a landing.

The PCR(Purple Cheddar) is chunking so hard it looks more like glittered couliflower than weed. A couple have really smacked the purple button and are just striking.

The Cali-O has surprized me - there are a couple outstanding plants in the mix. I hope they smoke as well as they look and smell. The Aleric double serrated leaf is evident in all individuals.

The Chemmy Jones group continues to slather trichs on its corn cob sized buds.

Day 56 Bloom Update

Unit:

Purple Cheddars Purpin:

Cali-O:

Cream Cheese:

Data:

Not long to go!

All of the purple cheddars have some degree of purple in them. They have a GDP sweet dankness with an earthy snap to the aromas. These look to finish first - prolly within a week.

One of the Cali-Os has turned into the best looking specimen I've ever seen of the strain. It reeks of orange peel, is super triched, and has a wonderful solid structure.

The Cream cheese continues to thicken, and still remains the trichome queen of the grow. These look to go another couple weeks.

The Chemy Jones keeps making monster buds. You can see these arm sized buds lurking in the back row on the unit shot. They have a nutty/peppery/dank smell to them.

On the data sheet you can see how they have practically stopped eating. I will start stepping the res down on day 60 - partial flushes to the end.

Chemmy Jones Rocking Out:

CJ Cut:

Data:

Super Tastey Purple Cheddar:

All Done!

As you can see the PCR came out first and the rest have now been chopped as well.

I have all the plants at different stages of drying at the moment. I'm compiling data and going through all the individual stats.

The final reports on all strains will be released when everything is complete. I'll include bud, cut and nug shots along with scale data and smoke reports from clients. This will take a bit to put together, so please gimme a minute to finish.

Final Report - Purple Cheddar

3 Phenos:

Bud Shot:

Cut Shot:

Nug:

Nug:

Scale Tally:
1.6, 2.8, 2.3, 1.0, 1.6

Potency 6.9
Taste 7.9

All phenotypes exhibited some degree of coloration. All had a similar funky sweet cheese smell infused with a GDP dank undertone.

My keeper is a medium yielder with a lot of color and the best cheese/GDP aroma. Thick yummy smoke that draws a crowd, the buzz is a little pleasant head mixed with a relaxing body, while slightly couchy.

Tester Comments:

Beautiful and tasty!
Wonderful sweet taste
Relaxing sweet ride
Nice and mellow

Final Report - Cream Cheese

2 Phenos:

CMC3 Bud:

Cut Shot:

Nug:

Nug:

Scale Tally:
2.0, 2.2, 1.5, 1.7

Potency 7.6
Taste 8.7

Cream Cheese had 2 bushier phenos and 2 lankier ones. All were just slathered in trichomes. All had variations on the cheese smell - from spicy cheese to vanilla ice cream flavors.

My keeper pheno was CMC3. She was the trich queen from the start. Her aroma is literally drool inducing - Think premium French vanilla ice cream with a puckeringly sweet cotton candy overtone, while keeping a light bass tone of dank.

CMC3 was voted Best in Grow.

Yields were nice and the buzz starts as a light face bake that intensifies while a relaxing wave of body numbness washes over you. Music and conversation are enhanced. The overwhelming taste is the highlight. It just seems impossible that anything you burn and inhale could taste this good and get you this high.

Tester Comments:

Wow!
Awesome incredible taste
Is this really weed?
Great combination of taste and buzz
