Female Seeds NL

Has anyone tried seeds from this company yet?I just got the c-99 seeds, not used to fem seeds but thought I may try these. They say themselves that they are really not "clone quality" yet whatever the hell thats supposed to mean.I dont like the sound of it though because I was going to perpetuate one of the plants indefinately. Are they saying I may have a problem doing this?

I think they say that because of the genetic possibility of herms...kinda scares me though if they admit to something like that. I wonder what their process is for producing the male flowers?

Checked the cached OG strain guide for it...out of 3 reports only 1 had herms. Could have easily been from light leaks, but who knows....

the problem with fem seeds is that there more likly to herm on you from stress. i wouldnt go with fem seeds unless i had a perfect enviroment.

I've grown a whole bunch of Female seeds(Grapefruit, NL, Cinnamon and Neville's Haze) and can only remember once getting seeds, and only then there were only a handful. The Grapefruit is a super toke...

Got a C99 X-Line starting now also.

Forget about what people are saying about the the fem seeds. I've absolutely no let down with them. And you gotta hand it to Female Seeds NL, they at least do not lie to you about their products.

I've got 2 of these vegging right now - anyone else growing them out?

Out of 4 beans, 3 popped and 2 lived. Germed using rockwool in pH adjusted tap water in a heated germination dome. Transplanted rockwool to Ocean Forest soil in 12oz cups after first set of leaves appeared in dome.

The 2 survivors are doing well. 1 is a mutant the other is pretty indica dominant in terms of leaf structure - broad and round leaves, yet it is too early to tell if the buds will represent indica lineage.

Haven't heard too much on FS NL but their WW has gotten rave reviews on OG and here so my next purchase will definately be WW from FS.

I just wonder if I'll have problems taking clones from clones like I've been doing with blockhead for a couple years now,I dont like the sound of them saying "not clone quality" mainly because I have no clue what that means lol.

Skeletor -

Did you have any deficiency problems early in veg when you grew these out?

I am and have never seen a problem like this before...

Not feeding anything except pH adjusted water with superthrive and they just got their first dose of SWEET.

The leaf veins look very purple and their are brownish dry spots on the tips. Not sure what it is. I just switched them from 24/0 flouros to 18/6 MH (400W) but I doubt that is causing color differentiation and what looks to be nute burn (even though I am not feeding them anything).

Any thoughts?

Check out my grow log in my sig. Had major stress and still had a nice harvest. The owner was part of positronics, one of the first seedbanks. They definately know what they're doing. People underestimate them because they are so cheap.
The other seed companies despise them and bad mouth them because they're shaking up the industry pricing their top notch genetics at a reasonable amount. I don't think I'll ever go to another breeder again. If you have any doubt, check out any of Mr. Wags grows.

Other than not liking my nutes at first, no problems with Female Seeds C99 here. Just starting to bud up but no signs of hermi and I also managed to stress her with my nutes. She's recovered nicely and started loving my regiment. Some of her sisters are still vegging this plant was just a straight into 12/12 experiment.

I have had good success from Female Seeds. I have 4 of their NL's in the vegg cab now. they're doin great at about three weeks from sedling. Other than the Nl's , i've done their Grapefruit and White Widow, all with good success. i've noticed in their strain descriptions, they mention "a male flower appearing in the late stages." it goes on to say; "Don't panic, just harvest!" Ha! This spring, the Grapefruit spit a bit of pollen while i wasn't looking. But then again, it was late March and I'm in the southeast U.S. and theres a TON of pine and grass pollens in the air, so...I have an indoor(crawlspace) with vents, and the product wasn't as tasty as it should have been IMHO.
All othe Female Seeds grows have been great. But I'm a clear/cloudy harvester, and only a bit cloudy at that! That "Late male flower' doesnt concern me.

NOW, I have to say that after reading a thread about "feminised" seeds and their validity and ability to be "all that" I have changed my order for the next years grows. I just got my beans a few weeks ago. For next year I'm growin; "Satori" and White Satin, from Mandala seeds, Nirvanas NL5/Haze, and Kali mist, from Serious seeds.
I'm just not sure the high price of feminised seeds is all that justified. I did have "runts" in the grows. Small girls that didnt produce lots of bud, and a bit of height difference within the group too. So the new seeds will tell me if last years "feminised" grows were better than some great strains of un- feminised seeds this year. It is nice, tho', to not have the heartbreak of tossing a nice lookin plant, when it shows its nuts!

However, Skeletor, to add my thoughts to the thread: "Yeah Mang!" Female Seeds is good , (in this ol' stoners opinion!

Hi Space cabbage. those oics are different grows from Female Seeds nl. The first pic is of the Northern lights, that are curantly in the vegg cab. The light you see in the last pic is a compact flourescent( 95w that i was using for flowering at the time). I'm now using 800w. 400 MH and 400 HPS) that I put into one reflector, aqnd I vegg with the 95 watter in a wardrobe cabinet from Home Depot; the old C-24 which isn't #c-24 anymore.

The light you see on the finished bud is one of my old 4 foot flouros, now used as a light above my work table in the garden.
