The cops are worried about more important things.

Green Lions crosses are beautiful.

Rescue dogs are the way. They will love you for helping them. I have two.

I have never seen any real deal elites nor have I seen well takin cuts at holistic solutions farmers market. Its a bunch of people that arent even heads and just think there in the know.:yeahthats: If you want good genes this is not the place. I asked one person how many seeds they searched through to get there phenos and they said only 5 beans per strain. Hah Try to find swerves cuts there the tryed and trude. peace & love

Maybe he was inspired by Subcool's method of breeding and they were "Top Notch Genetics" to start with! Subcool used 4 seeds to make one of his strains.

Bling was made from a White Widow cut obtained on a snowboarding trip crossed with pollen from a couple LUI males as featured in a HT article.

These examples would suggest that you can find genetics that are worthy of obtaining and deciding if they are worthy keepers.

rootstyle, i am sorry you feel that way. being one of the original vendors at the farmers market i know that what we have to offer are true elites and not fake internet hyped cuts. my husband and i having been researching and developing new strains of cannabis for probably longer than you've been growing. we don't give a fuck about swerves cuts. we travel the world to bring everyone in nor-cal fresh new gentecis that are the gauranteed REAL THING!!!!!!!sounds to me like your one of those internet taught GURUS that don't know shit. sometimes it may take 5 seeds to find an elite sometimes it may take 500. just goes to show what you know. all our seeds come directly from reputable breeders only therefore what we have to offer there are top notch genetics, simple as that. so keep your slanderous words to yourself and stop spreading misinformation like most people out there in the internet world. we're trying to keep a good thing going here so FUCK OFF ROOTSTYLE!!! :pointlaug :nono:
Too all other medical patients out there please forgive my harsh words however i feel i have to set the story straight and let these little punks realize they shouldn't talk about something which they know nothing about.

keep it green,

Do any of the folks who have made it to the Farmer's Market have any recommendations for newcomers? Have you found any of the varieties offered to be particularly fine medicine? Would you recommend a certain vendor or vendors? Is there anything that we should know which hasn't yet been posted?

It isn't a short trip for us, so we thought it best to seek the collective wisdom before we start. Your assistance is appreciated. :rasta:

Thanks to the folks who organized this market to provide patients better access to a range of medicinal varieties.

Best,

I've been thinking about making the trip up but never got an answer as to what time is the best to be there. Like someone else said, the trip is a few hours so I dont want to get up there and see that they're closing up...

Man oh man. I was just down at this great club last weekend on Saturday. The people down at the farms market were great folks. Treated me great even though i came in as a bit of a pot snob. They were very willing to talk with me about all the different strains that they had to offer and the vibe there was very loving. Hell I asked some folks walking down the street where to find the place and they were kind enough to walk me there and show me around. They had some great choices of different strains and I am not sure what some people are saying about not having elite strains? How many people do you know that have access to any Kush cuts let alone 5 or 6 different types? Trainwreck is something that I know my friends back east would kill for and they had 3 or 5 different cuts including the elite west coast cut. I swear some people. Where else can you go and find people even willing to give up strains of anything? Its like if you don't have the best of the best at the lowest price being served to you by a lovely lady telling you that your the best grower and the best looking person in the world then the place can't be worth a shit? I personally am very thankful that I can semi-legally go to a club and even have a chance to get some clones. In fact I am really happy to be here in Cali at all. Most people have to go thru the whole old boys network and beg and bribe just to get anything and sometimes they still get screwed.
Now that I am ranting I might as well say that lately this site has alot of hate in it. The breeders all hate each other and are constantly fighting and name calling, the growers seem like they are always trolling and hating on each other and in general just alot of negitive vibes that really turn me off. Now I am not talking about everyone but the most vocal people lately have been haters. I wouldn't have thought a bunch of stoners would have so much angry built up in them. Oh well.
In any case I just wanted to put my 2 cents in and say thanks to the guys at the clearlake club because they were the start of a great day, the wheather was fanastic and the disc golfing was even better. I will make the road trip back just because the area itself was just so dammed awesome.

I got some cuts from this place.
Kush
Sour Kush
Super Silver Haze
Purple Urkle
Maui Wowie
Shipwreck
Hawiian Snow x ?
Purple Kush
and a couple more i forget the names of.

The vendors where kind and not rude nor did they have a "God" complex. In my honest opinion, the Co-op needs some TLC. As far as the Clone cuts are concerned.. the only two that looked "good" where the Kush, and Sour Kush cuttings. The rest of the cuts i picked up where all "lame". Let me explain "Lame". Lame in the sense of the cuts where maybe 2" tall, and looked pail green to yellow. They look like they where kept in lame conditions. Also a vendor had a clone tray filled with clones of different strains and not labeled very well. Hence i wonder if they get strains confused while selling or bringing them to the market. On that note.. I feel the clones where a bit overpriced but a donation is a donation, sorta like i dont expect to shake the presidents hand because i donated to his campaign.
I drove the clones back to the garden area using my home made transit grow box (CFL in a ice chest). I put the clones in my set up and treat them with a shot of insecticide/miticide/anti-fungl etc.. After one week, i noticed not much growth. /scratches head.. A week after having them in the grow area, I started some seeds of mine i wanted to give a run. After 4 weeks.. My seeds outgrew the cuts from the Club. The seeds where overall larger (by far). /scratching head I took cuts from the cuts i got from the club, when they grew large enough to get cuts from (3 months). After taking the cuts off the med club plants. i moved the plants i got from the med club outside. I watched them very carefuly, and they where confused,, the plants never went into a vegitative state.. they wanted to bloom out from the get go.. Which is wierd cause i never fed them bloom food and the outside season is summer light. So after watching them med co-op plants outside for about 2 months, i came to the conclusion that they where not keepers, they where lame ducks so i culled them out of the garden.. I kept one of the med co-op original cuts, the Super Silver Haze. It is the only one out of the bunch that "grew". The Kush cuts i got did "okay" but not as good as the weakest plant in "my bunch" so i culled them as well. This is my experience only.. I have been there only once.. so...?
I'm not judging anyone... but people that are in the cannabis plant business, have to know that it takes at least 60 days to figure out if you have a keeper or a lame duck. It is ever so frustrating to be under a guise of "elite" cuts and getting them back and figuring out 60 days later its not as elite as you had thought.
I give a lot of bravery kudos to the Co-op and the vendors there though! huge balls! I love that people are brave enough to do such things. And i Feel with the right criticism this place has huge potential for the medical cannabis community. I will return to get more cuts, in the future. After i'm done with the Super Silver Haze:)
And on the note of finding an Elite seed/plant. You have to start all the seeds., starting 4-10 beens to get a keeper is just silly to me. I grew from seed mainly in the past, and i got like maybe 5 elite plants out of 2000+ seeds over a 15 year period. So if someone is starting only 10 seeds of a strain, and get a Uber pheno, then they "hit the jackpot" so to say. Its like someone walking into the Casino and putting in 10 bucks into the dollar slot machine, and hitting the jackpot. so....
Well, thats me 2cents. Best wishes..

Hey Kannamaven,

Thanks for the input, but how would you know if a clone is from an elite type without ever flowering it? We'd likely get pretty far afield, trying to decipher what was going on with your clones.

Suffice it to say, that we've had several clones over the years that have been in pathetic shape, truly near death. If they survived, with a little tlc, then cuts taken from them when they revived were fully vigorous, in a manner expected of the type in question.

Of the varieties you mention, the Purple Urkle, Purple Kush and a couple of others are unlikely to be from seed. Although PU is slow-vegging, it certainly is an elite, as one soon discovers upon flowering. Do you contend that the PU and PK were not the "real" ones?

Best,

bopper

Wow...so much hostility. I wasn't all that impressed with the cuts at the Farmer's Market either although I like the idea. Face it, a lot of us have gotten spoiled out here and therefor have a bit higher bar to meet when we're evaluating cuts and vendors. Try not to take things personally, but rather take it as an oppurtunity to improve. How can anyone bitch if you've got great looking, well rooted cuts?

Happy growing - Butte

Knowledgable vendors..

Knowledgable vendors..

Thanks to everyone for their input on our Farmer's Market... good and bad. Everyone has an opinion and thats a good thing. We arent for everyone and if you dont like our market just dont come back. Its pretty simple. We promote positive energy! We have some of the best finished product in the dispensary in the state of California and it comes from our vendors at the mkt. You can come and talk with the vendor and sometimes see a sample of the finished product.
The ability of the purchaser comes in to play somewhere. Not everyone who buys clones knows what they are doing and does anyone know it all? Alot of folks on here seem to think so. :joint:

Kannamaven,
I started the farmers market because of the store quality clones I had picked up at various dispensaries in Lake and Sonoma County. No roots at all and half of them died. Show me a dispensary that makes sure their clones are 60 days old before they sell them???? Its sure not anywhere around here. I ask that all the vendors bring only rooted clones and if you dont see roots dont buy them. If you buy a clone at the market and it dies then you get a replacement. Just bring it back in its container.. its that simple. I'm 54 and got into growing in the early 70s. Always something new to learn and there always will be.
We dont set the price the store does and the store gets half of everything we make there. 50/50
If you have a better resource for clones then stick to that... and if the experience was such a no win one why would you want to come back?? It sounds like you bought from several vendors and they all reacted the same??
Hawaiian Snow is from Greenhouse.. Won the Cannabis Cup in 03
Check out allwhazefaded's thread on Warlock A to Z.. One of our products. I think it speaks for its self..
Peace and keep it chronic..

Farmers Market July 7th Benefit..

Farmers Market July 7th Benefit..

All proceeds from the Farmers Mkt on Saturday July 7th will be donated to needy pets and needy children. We have had a request from the city to donate half of our days proceeds to Lake County Community Action Agency for youth services. Its a great cause and will help to build a much needed new youth center. The other half will go to lake County Special Pets Rescue. This will be a twice a year event to give our vendors the opportunity to help the community. I hope all vendors and potential vendors will give all they can and hope to have a great turn out for this event! There should be an awsome selection of genetics.
Thanks and keep it chronic..
