What is the difference in technology between a cheapie rheostat fans speed controller vs. the day/night temp based fan speed controllers like CAP vsc-dne and Titan mercury 4? Do they use the same type of means to slow the fan down? Do you stilll get humming with the day/night fan speed controllers on some fans like you do with the rheostats ones such as the all so common speedster?
