Do you mean duct fans/blowers? You should be more specific. If so then consider Dayton, Vortex, Fantech, Can-Fan, Elicent, Eco-Plus, Fasco or Centrax. Keep an eye out for Dayton's and Vortex's in particular, they're considered to be the standard for pot growers. Dayton's (squirrel cage) are loved for their affordability, power, durability, and wide selection. Vortex's (inline) are loved for their quietness, high outputs, efficiency, and the whopping 10 year warranty that comes along with them. I cant recommend you a particular model because i dont know the specs of your grow space, but you should definitely keep Dayton or Vortex on your shopping list.

I have an Elicent 200B fan I have been using for years and it still works perfectly. I had it going for a year and a half non stop at one time, and now I have it in my current grow hooked up to a can 100 carbon scrubber. So I would have to say they are made very well and I couldn't see going wrong with one of those. Just my 2 cents worth. All the one's Pontiac listed above I also have heard only good things about. Good luck shopping and make sure you look around as they can be priced quite differently from store to store.

For the most part most fans, generic and brand name last a fairly long time.

Dayton is one of the better fan companies. IMHO.

For example I was running a Dayton fan that was designed to run in higher temp enviroments, that thing literally ran 24/7 for over 3 years. The only maintence I did to it was put a few drops of oil on one of the bearings.

I have also seen the same size fan by different manufacturers rated at different volumes. Like a 6" vortex can pull xxx CFM while a 6" CanFan can pull yyy CFM.

I love my Vortex 6". Quiet, strong, not overly heavy and easy to mount. Mdhydro.com has best prices Ive seen on Vortex.

I have that Vortex. I can't say it's quiet. Maybe when I build the carbon scrubber and output to it. But as it is now, pulling from 2 cabs via flex-ducting, it's not very quiet. And a lot LESS quiet when not connected to ducting. But of course, there's no reason for it not to be :)

How are you mounting it? Mine hangs from bungees. Also, I guess the definition of quiet is subjective depending on your situation. It makes enough noise to know its a large centrifugal fan but not enough to concern me that the people living above me are hearing it.
