Plants are looking lovely, De La Luz! :D

Thanks for the info on pot sizes. ;) I will probably keep them in the smaller containers just cause this is my 1st foray into pure sativas, and want to get a feel for it. Multiple transplanting will be key. My Power Malawi's are ahead of everything else by a good bit, and I have those in 2 gal. pots now, transplanted 4 wks into 12/12. They loved going from 2L to 2 gal.!
I'm just wary of Guawi bushes like yours, lol, but I'm playing it by ear.

All the best! -HL

Hola De La Luz :)

Thanks for the update, im glad to hear you are enjoying with the grow and doing the work with love and dedication. It's a very nice idea to clone all the parental plants, it's the unique way to know you are preserving the best expressions for the future and the way to produce a new generation of the highest quality. Keep up the good work! dubi

update!

update!

Well it's been a while since I updated this thread.

I've almost finished a first round of everything ...

Kalinga plants...

4 plants total
1 male
3 female

all three females put out some intersex flowers
the first female was different from her sisters... better bud structure, higher calyx to leaf ratio and was way fatser to finish... she finished in 12 weeks. She put out some nanners around week 8,... I pulled them as they showed up for the last 4 weeks of flower... just trying to let the bud ripen up before I pulled her.

the remaining two females were very close in structure and where much leafier than their early sister.

one of the two really started to herm and was pulled at about 9-10 weeks before any real resin was present ... (she is headed to the compost pile) a real drag... I was hoping to keep her going but just had too many male flowers to keep up with and i didn't want to risk the rest of the plants in the room.

The last girl is still going at week 18 of flower and she needs about two or three additional weeks. She has been putting out nanners also for about the last 7 weeks... I've kept up with them daily. I really want this one to ripen up and she is starting to show some resin. She also has a lovely light jasmine/floral scent that i like.
I'll include some images of her ...

I changed my feeding schedule during this grow and I'm growing this Kalinga girl with a room full of kush plants that finish in 8 weeks. for about 4 weeks she was just feed water with no nutes. since then I've been feeding her just a light compost tea. So, some of the fan leaves have browned out... if I was to grow her again I would have kept up with some more N in the feeding schedule for a several more weeks to keep her greener and healthier.

Guerrilla ... I have two different females ... here is one of them at about 4 / 5 weeks...

Congo
Two different females... one a little faster than the other... the Fast one was just taken down at 14 weeks... she is slimmer in structure

Her sister is at 16 weeks and is much larger in structure and still needs some time

China Yunnan
two different females here is one of them...

Nice genetics ACE , THANKS!!:tiphat:

Great to see you around De La Luz :)

Kalinga is a 2nd generation 'landrace' sativa and you still can find hermie traits in its population, it needs a little bit more of selection to produce a stable high quality and hermie free generation.

Congo female has been grown real nice! You have find interesting Guerrilla and Chinese Yunnan phenos too. Best wishes!

Hola Dubi!
Yeah, I knew this would be a possibility with the Kalingas... I also knew that my selection was very, very, very limited. (just 3 females) I will be going through more of my Kalinga seed stock in the near future for sure, I still have a couple hundred seeds and I'd like to start working my way through them...
The scent on the 18 week old girl is really cool, very floral with jasmine notes... i can't wait to try her out.
I hope to try some more outdoors this season:blowbubbles:

I should also note that she has been grown at 12/12 the whole time. Since she is sharing a room with indicas I did not want to graduate the light schedule down to 13/11 etc.

She was grown in a small 4 liter container for the the first three weeks of flower and then moved into her new home of a 12 liter container (as suggested:tiphat:) This really did help with controlling the normal stretching that happens in early flower and helped to fatten up the flowers.:thank you:

Thanks for all your work (ACE / CBG) we appreciate it deeply !!!!!

The jasmine/floral aroma is the smell you should look for in the Kalinga population ;) Best wishes!
