hey all,
had a bad experience today... went with a friend to maastricht to do a little shopping.. she bought only clothes and I bought 15g of weed... spent a wonderful day in town, but on our return on the motorway, 5km behind the border, I noticed a car behind me, 2 older men in there (+/- 50y). they passed me an suddenly the co-driver put a blue light on top and made me a sign to follow them.
so I followed him and we stopped on a departure besides the road. then I noticed a second car that was stopping behind me, an old man, atleast mid 50s, obviously also a custom. the two men in the first car came to us and told us to show them our passports and the registry doc of the car. They asked us what we were doing over there and if we had sth to declare. Said yes and gave him my weed that I bought. After this, I had to leave the car and empty my pockets so that one of them (the first driver) could search me. After this, he told me to veer away from the car. His co-driver spoke to my friend, searched her bag, and then send her to me. The second driver said nothing. Then they began to search my car for more.
After their search (approx 10-15min), the second driver left. The first driver filled out a paper, asked me to come to the car and asked me a few questions (married or not, profession,..) then I signed a paper and they left.
Now that I'm not nervous anymore, I looked at the copy of this document that he gave me and I begin to worry....
1. the frame on the document is not even, it is a little bit assymetric to the border of the paper, and on one area, the frame is not fitted.
2. there are a lot of format errors, like once BOLD once normal, and there is also missing a "Yes" at one place and the text is not justified (format)
3. they didnt search under the hood of the car
4. they didnt search my friend
5. they don't showed any identification (due to my nervousness, I didnt ask for it )
.....
Now, what do you think? were that fake customs officers? ever heard of similar stories?
peace
