Third (and hopefully last) stop for the veggie train. Peppers in front of the swing repurposed into a plant stand and all the squash, tomatoes, and other gourds in the patch of yard with the most sunlight.
All the flowering Morning Glories came up on their own but I've got about twenty other intentionally planted containers so that in another few weeks the entire front of the house will be adorned with hundreds of blossoms.
The slow crawl of one of my fanciful waste to garden projects; the green top of a store bought pineapple seemed doomed after inattention caused the death of its core lase year. Fortunately, there was enough viable growth to revive it this Spring as it seems to have resurrected itself and is on the road to better days. I'm aware that this will be a three or four year journey to realize a substantial enough base to provide fruit of its own. The same method can bring lettuce, celery, carrots, and a variety of other scraps into the fold of the casual gardener and offer the pride of working with your hands in the dirt.
The majority of my outdoor efforts are more of a feast for the eyes with specimens such as this purslane that comes back year after year from the reused soil of my continually recycled containers when I mix in fresh mushroom compost as I filter out and pluck weeds and the unwanted gift of squirrels who never seem to return for their hidden treasures.
