Ash: forgot to give you the thumbs up last time I posted bro.....but you already know your sh*t is always looking tight....
It's good to see that whenever we think you're dormant, you're working on some large ass project that's practially second to none.
Jped: mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm......lifesaver's looking TASTY!
Uber: awesome-o!
Freedom: nice Freaking macro shots bro! Not a shabby haul either.....send us some Sour Queen care packages!!!! LOL.
Tona: do I really need to say anything about your grow man? I mean comeon....a class act is a class act. ROFL. The thing that makes it duly impressive is the fact that you're such an old man...(LOL....j/k post birthday chapping)

If there's anyone I missed that's what happens when you've got a pot addled nitrous saturated brain...so apologies are in order.

Was wondering if you guys/gals would be kind enough to share some information about the makes/models of the cameras you've been using to take pictures. I'm considering buying another cam....one that can take the super-ultra-hyper-extreme closeup trichome pictures. My point and shoot digital olympus is o.k., but it doesn't do the nuggetry justice....
The first thing I can say that I know now about cameras is that: I know practically nothing. It was explained to me that there are camera "bodies" and you have to buy different lenses depending on what you want to photograph.....
The lenses seem like they're more expensive than the cameras, and who the hell knows what the heck lens you need to take pictures of resin.
I couldn't really tell the cat at the camera store "I want to take pictures of weed"...and I need to "zoom in to see the crystals". That would have gone 1 of 2 ways: I'd end up in jail, or some mofo would be haunting me to hook them up.
I've been kicking around the idea of the Nikon D60 or the D90....those Ashton Kutcher commercials have got me all programmed to buy some of their gear.
I dunno...if I were him....I don't think I'd be banging some chick that's markedly older than me that's not even really that hot or relevant anymore. I mean he's a total toolbag, but he IS in the hollywood scene....
When was the last time Demi Moore even put out a movie that anyone would shell out a few bucks to see? At this point, I'd probably rather bang Bruce Willis than her.
At least he gets a paycheck...ROFL! But I digress: let me know about your cameras...(you enterprising photojournalist types know who you are!!!).

congrads endo, this one goin out to the father to be... :friends:

access-you sound like you have as much experience with cam as me when i got mine bro.i have the nikon p80.ots a awesome cam for the ticket bro.18x optical zoom gets the macros just fine for me.has a mf mode that even gets them crisper if yo0u can old still.or tri-pod.
it doesnt give you the option of interchangeble lenses, but for me it does the job.
its a good one for the novice photographer like us.i think in the distant furure i will upgrade but not for a while yo,i havnt even scratched the surface of what this one can do.
hope this helps.peace-T-

btw at the end of one of those kutcher commercials about them little camsit shows mine for a hot second like, "check out the coolpix p80" or some shit like that...

For what it's worth, I use a 8.1MP Sony Cybershot...the model is DSC-W90. I got it about a year ago because I wanted the camera with the best macro feature I could find, without spending the money I would have to spend on lenses and the camera with an SLR, like that D-90. Mine is just a typical point and shoot. I really think it comes down to having your subejct (the plant obviously) absolutely still, having your camera on a tripod, and ultimately, good lighting. Getting in really close with your macro function on (usually a little flower button) and with your flash engaged, will usually result in your image being way too bright. So I invested $100 in a macro ring ligh that sony makes. Its a ring that fits over the front of the lens and is lit by about 12 or so LEDs...through a soft filter. I'm just starting to get the hang of mine. I was about to go grab one of those D-90's and a good lens until I discovered what I can get with what I have.

So it kinda comes down to how much money you want to spend. You can get pretty damn good shots with a point and shoot as long as the macro function allows you to get really close (I think mine is like 2cm or something) and the megapixels are pretty high. And lighting and a tripod. That's all from what I've learned anyway...

I didn't know you were pregnant Endo!!! Who's the proud papa?

I know Kallen said he had maternity leave.....hmmmmmmm...suspicious....
You guys have some sort of "fling" and decided to keep the baby? The long distance relationship must be a killer....

Best of luck to you two. It's good to know that F.U.C.K.E.M. brought you two lovers together...makes my heart swell! Let us know where you're registered for gifts...

Tona/Freedom: Thanks for the breakdown on the technology. I dig both your pictures immensely and as they say emulation is the highest form of compliment. I could only hope my pictures end up as tight as either of yours. Freedom's ringlight is something I just started reading about. I'm not entirely sure they're produced for each model camera. As I was talking about it with the "camera d00d" today in the store, he kindof scoffed at the idea citing that "it didn't make sense" that I needed such a thing for macro images.
He was pretty much pushing those SLR cameras and wanted to bang me about 500 clams for the macro lens I described needing. Plus the D60 he was selling was close to $675 as the body. I flat out asked this mofo if his prices were "relatively competitive". Of course this ahole said "yes". Upon looking around it appears I can get the D60 with some killer lenses for about $6-700 bucks. If I want to go the D90 route, I'm looking at closer to $1200 sheckles. Neither will break the piggy bank, but I'm wondering if I actually need to blow the extra wad. Honestly I'd like to make the most out of my point and shoot digital olympus...but I've screwed around with the macro images, and they always are difficult because you lose the flash....and because it's hard to establish the right focal distance and use the auto-focus on the camera. The focus just doesn't happen. A tripod did make things better, but I'd like to see those real wild ass close-ups that look like an electron microscope took it. If I could find one of those ring-lights or other gizmos that allow you to get that look (as you demonstrated with your last pictures)...I would easily go that route first.

Endo & Kallen: congratulations if it wasn't implicitly stated before. You two look like you're very happy in this photograph. I had no idea that Endo looked like Einstein so much.....very kinky. I always say "there's someone for everyone"....apparently it's all relative (pun intended due to the Einstein reference for you bookworms).
And Kall: I wish you would've let us know you bought the coffeemaker/espresso maker already!!! I wanted to buy that where you guys registered!!! I guess I'll have to get you the king-sized bed sheet set instead now.
