A quick reference of the on-line ez-cloner instructions reveal that:

EZ-Clone said:
11. For optimal results, adjust pH level to 6.3. A safe range for the pH level is 5.8–6.5.

12. Temperature of water should remain between 20–23°C. For optimal results, water temperature of 22°C is recommended.

VERY IMPORTANT: For best results keeproom temperature between 21°C and 25°C

A quick conversion of these Celsius temperatures gives:

20°C = 68°F
22°C = 71.6°F
23°C = 73.4°F
25°C = 77°F

cap also makes the ART-DNe timer, a little pricier but it lets you dial in on off times from seconds to hours, and has a photo cell for day night.

i use them on my recirc fans and they work great.
but can be used for ebb and flow, heaters, etc up to 15 amps

I use a 2'-4' hydro tray with a big piece of styrofoam on top with the clones poked through the top. A couple pieces of pvc with sprayers in the shape of a straight W in the lines of the tray and a pump. i'm set.

I tried this with a 4'-8 tray and a 3200 gph pump with good results too just hard finding the right size styrofoam board.

If you do not want to spend the money on the proper cap timer, than just leave it on 24/7...there is no right or wrong way....just personal preference...as they all work.

Water temps....for rooting...should be around 76-78 degrees. Try not to let it fall below 74...or above 80. There is a sweet spot with aero cloning..and that is around 76 degrees.

You can use straight un ph'd tap water...or you can go all out and use RO water. I would recommend Hydrogaurd by botanicare...and Clonex solution.

Good luck either way.

If you want a great DIY for a cloner...you can go over to stinkbuddies.com.

Great tutorial. It is the one I used...and I am the opposite of mechanically inclined.

Good luck!

24/7, ice cubes for temp. control, and daily PH adjustment (I keep my water at about 6.0).... roots in about 7-10 days, with 100% success. I dip each cutting in rooting gel, and add Botanicare's liquid Power Clone to my water.
