Eyesight!

My eyes started to go in the 4th grade, been wearing specs for 45 years, 5 years ago or so I added farsightedness to my nearsitedness..So glad they invented the thin light no line plastic lenses or I'd have one hell of a pair of coke bottle bottoms for glasses. If it wern't for all the aquired knowledge getting old would really suck...LOL!

I used to read myself to sleep every night, when my eyesight started to go (fuzzy or double-vision) I was always thinking it was just fatigue, I soon realized I was over salting my food because I couldn't see the salt falling from the shaker any longer.......

I hardly ever bother to read many books any more & usually use the enlarged screen option to increase the text if I'm needing to on my comp.

Damn my eyesight is going .. I thought it was a plastic toy baby hanging out of a vagina.

That was a great avi Verite.

I cannot read label, books and things without glasses now. I used to be able to with the right light but now it is not possible. To many years have passed.......to much time under the HIDs. Oh well at least I can still see the big buds on the end of the stem.....now spider mites are a different thing.

...oh...it's starting to bother me...

my eye-sight is not what it used to be and I find it increasingly difficult to look at a screen without wearing a pair of spectacles......trying to locate the glasses is pain enough....

...does anyone have a similar problem?
Not trying to make light of your situation Gypsy,

Got my first set of progressive bifocals last week - the new detail is hurting my eyes, there's so much to see.

I was working with a single vision prescription that was 10 yrs old.

Still adjusting to the new way to read things, but I haven't had any of the disorientation or vision problems I've heard about...

Tell me about it.. if I want to read the ingredients on a lable I got to hold the damn thing at arms length then shine a light on it.

The good part is it has increased the number of good looking girls out there.

If you want more good looking women, try alcohol. It works better than glasses. The more I drink, the better looking they all get!

Maybe mom was right after all when she said doing that would make you go blind. Maybe It just takes 30 years to catch up to ya. ;)

I wear contacts and still suffer from C.S.F.S.(can't see for shit).
Now that I am in my mid 40's I need to wear reading glasses at the computer---not only is it difficult to read, but my eyes get really tired from looking at the screen.
My partner just got those reading glasses rope thingy...what the hell are they called? So she doesn't lose her glasses all the time. They just hang around her neck all day & are there when she needs 'em.

lmao . . . . some objects look much better and others I can't see at all: C.S.F.S.

And, for those of you that need reading glasses: get a pair strictly for the computer, the FOCUS is Different than for reading . . . a bit longer; mine's about 16'' or 40 to 45 centimeters

to increase the size of your page print (works w/Firefox) hold down Ctrl & + . . . to decrease, hold down Ctrl & -
