extremely early harvest? first grow..need help

got a durban poison plant about 3 weeks into veg from a friend. grew it out for antoher couple of weeks and have been flowering it since feb 10. thats 37 days and the buds have been packing on the resin for about 2 weeks and the buds are chunky and thick and about 2/3rds to 1/2 of the pistills have turn amber.

seems very early cut a nice gram sized bud off for dryying this morning ginna give it a little test. its a 8.5% thc plant according to the seed company so i definatly want to mature it fully.

whens iit done? how do i tell?

Understand the pistils have changed, how are the trichromes looking.

Have you seen them with a microscope yet?

Hmmm don't focus so much on the pistils they are only a helper in determining maturity, the trichs are what u want to turn amber.

last durban i grew went close to 14 weeks..


Id hold off as long as possiable but im sure you test bud gives you a good idea with how long to go.

yea dude looking at the pistils is not the best way to go, in fact, its quite inaccurate.
Go to radio shack and get the $10 scope, cut a very small piece of one of the nug leaves off that have trichs, and check them out. I personally like to see 20% amber at most because i like more uppy highs than couch locks, but if you want a more stoney go for 50%, if you want a more heady chop when theres about 10-20% amber and the rest cloudy.

thanks everyone! ive got a buddy who lives 5 mins away who has a trich scope ill have a look soon. but im thinking its probably not nearly as ready as i thought. the trichs on the bud are very clear still. the tops looks like little christmas trees
