EXTRAordinarily colorful herbs

I've personally noticed changes from it with my blueberry. The iced plant was the only grow that turned wild colors. The other 2 didn't, nor did the seed run plant. Obviously there's differences here and there between things that happen during each grow, so I can't give you hardened evidence on paper. But I do use the same products lights tents schedule. I've noticed it seems to either help trichrome production, or maybe the plant just shrinks from the temps and secrets more to the outside that was existing within the plant. Give it a try if you want. I'm definitely not a pioneer with this tactic as it's been done by many before me. Heres what one looks like with zero ice that didn't reach cooler temps. It's not a coincidence certain plants turn colors when cold fronts come through in fall.

I’m curious to know a bit more about this technique. Wether I’ll try it or not is uncertain but it surely sounds intriguing 😁

So do you put bags of ice directly on the medium / at the base of the stem ? And how often do you replace it ?

Lastly, wouldn’t it be too big of a drop in temps in some cases like in summer or something ?

Don’t get me wrong I’m truly intrigued and I’m sure there’s some good stuff to learn here, just don’t wanna mess it all up if I ever were to try it out.

Thanks, take care

The color change is what I was looking to see happen. My place doesn't go below 70f. I read blueberry was proned to turning purple with cold temperatures, I just wanted to see if it did anything for color on this plant I have.
I just put 2 sandwich sized ziplocks full if ice against the base of stem top of coco each day before lights out for roughly5 days before chop. I had extremely good air exchange and airflow in my tents. May not be a good idea to do if those conditions are less than ideal for someone else. I'd imagine it slows the plants abilities down, possibly what causes the deficiencies in the first place, being so cold, slowing down that go-juice. If I recall that plant only sat under 12/12 for 52/53days

Thanks for the answer 🤝

Doesn’t seem too inconvenient to set-up on a small number of plants. I’ll probably give it a shot one day, I actually got some Blueberry seeds to pop and hopefully select a keeper from. Then it might be a good idea to run a few clones of the same plant to try the ice technique on just one of them and see how it goes.

Thanks for sharing !

I grow at home, in order for me to hit really cold temperatures I use ice packs and rest them above the medium against the plant stem. That run was actually my tastiest of them all. I don't know if it's from the scrog the size of the plants, me or maybe the cold temperatures at the very end
Trying to convince them that it's Fall time in an indoor climate?

The thing I've noticed about fall is that it's more about the less food available in the root zone more than it is about the cold. Even in Florida the leaves change color... Still 90 degrees outside...
I think both have an impact on the plants, I always have more colored plants in the winter runs compared to summer ones with the same clones in the same set-up, the only difference being lower temperatures.

I don't remember who are the parents of this cross, it's a very colorful one, all the pics of this cross were different shades of pink/purple, but if I remember correctly it lacked potency. I'm sure the True Blueberry had a better high than the Black Russian.
The Black Russian was a cross from Nebu
Cherry AK x Blackberry
And yes the high was not great on it. Tbh I didn't really like the flavor either.
