What do you mean by "using ice" ?
I grow at home, in order for me to hit really cold temperatures I use ice packs and rest them above the medium against the plant stem. That run was actually my tastiest of them all. I don't know if it's from the scrog the size of the plants, me or maybe the cold temperatures at the very end

So are you using this technique to improve flavour?
I've never heard of this before.
Is there any science behind this or just bro science?

I've personally noticed changes from it with my blueberry. The iced plant was the only grow that turned wild colors. The other 2 didn't, nor did the seed run plant. Obviously there's differences here and there between things that happen during each grow, so I can't give you hardened evidence on paper. But I do use the same products lights tents schedule. I've noticed it seems to either help trichrome production, or maybe the plant just shrinks from the temps and secrets more to the outside that was existing within the plant. Give it a try if you want. I'm definitely not a pioneer with this tactic as it's been done by many before me. Heres what one looks like with zero ice that didn't reach cooler temps. It's not a coincidence certain plants turn colors when cold fronts come through in fall.
