SIRIUS BLACK

I'd like to answer a few questions that I have received about Sirius Black.

It is a new strain.
Genetics have not yet been released.
Seeds and clones are not currently available
The only thing currently available is flower at select dispensaries in Oregon..

When our new authenticity certification program has been fully implemented in Oregon we will make the genetics available.

We are doing this to keep the integrity of Sirius Black intact. We do not want Sirius Black to become another strain like Gorilla Glue #4, Blue Dream, Girl Scout Cookies, etc... Those awesome strains I just mentioned are in every dispensary in Oregon and maybe 1 in 10 is the real thing.

Strain names mean absolutely nothing in Oregon dispensaries. The cuttings the growers get are often accidentally mislabeled, or mislabeled on purpose to get more money for them. This starts a chain reaction which results in strain names meaning nothing by the time they get to the dispensaries.

Someday in the future dispensaries will have countertop DNA strain identifiers, but we are a long way from that. Our authenticity certification program may not be perfect, but it is a step in the right direction.

Thanks for listening!

Interesting cross! Can you tell us more about her? Smell / taste / high?

What makes her on the same level as GG#4, GSC etc.?

Hi Browntrout,

I've never made any claim that Sirius Black was on the same level as any strain.

We do not have a track record like those award winning strains, but we are off to a pretty good start with this new strain. Our flower is currently the most popular in every dispensary it has been in, and we have requests for seeds from just about every country in the world because of the exposure High Times has given Sirius Black.

My point is that the dispensaries in Oregon are selling 100 different strains that all claim to be GG#4. The same is true will GSC, Blue Dream, etc, etc, etc....

If we release the genetics and let everyone run wild with them before our certification program has been perfected, our strain (and every other new strain that doesn't have a certification program) will suffer the same fate as those great strains.

As for taste, smell, etc... You can find that on the previous page of this thread.

Hope that clears a few things up.

Here's a few more macro shots.

Born Loser - "Google says puppy love x black rhino. Lol"

That is the genetics of a Sirius Black bred by Greenman Seeds that is a completely green strain that has no relationship to Oregon Breeders Group Sirius Black.

can you explain a bit how that authenticity certification program will work? would be really great if all the mis labeling could be reduced or totally gotten rid of.

I will explain how we are doing it with Sirius Black. It's not perfect, but it is a step in the right direction.

Sirius Black (and all of our creations) are currently grown from cuttings at two farms overseen by the strains creator, the Oregon Breeders Group. Each farm must grow Sirius Black to the high standards of Oregon Breeders Group. This includes climate control, nutrients, all organic, etc....

The finished flower will arrive at the dispensary with a certificate of authenticity that was issued by The Oregon Breeders Group (not issued by the farm) that includes an expiration date as well a certification number. If a customer wants to find out if the flower they are purchasing is the authentic strain, they are instructed to send an email to oregonbreedersgroup@gmail with the certification number. The Oregon Breeders Group will send them a return email indicating the dispensary that matches the certification number, when it was delivered to the dispensary, and if the certificate is still valid or if it has expired.

If a dispensary sells Sirius Black without a certificate it will mean that it is either not Sirius Black, or it was stolen property. Our hope is that reputable dispensaries will not purchase cheap knock-off uncertified product when certified product is available to them. This will give a dispensary a very bad reputation in the cannabis community if they refuse to recognize the breeders that have certified their strains.

We are doing this for the medical patients that use cannabis for medical reasons. They deserve to be assured that their medicine is the correct medicine, not a "close phenotype" that was created by who knows who.

We want all breeders to join us in our effort to keep the integrity of all strains bred by all breeders.

There's more to this, but I don't want to bore everyone to death.

If anyone has suggestions, questions, comments please fire away.

Thanks, Randy P.

FirstTracks,

According to the feedback I get from the dispensary budenders, Sirius Black is very "Social" high that allows customers to medicate during the day and enjoyably function just fine without having the couchlock, stay at home, fall asleep effect.

I've received emails claiming Sirius Black is a very effective anti-anxiety strain.
I received an email form a competition skateboarder that claimed Sirius Black made him more creative than any strain he had tried before.

Sirius Black has a very intense Limonene Terpene profile that leans towards sweet grapes.
When a batch of Sirius Black gets a proper long cure, the smell is unlike anything I've ever experienced. It's sweet, smooth, grapey, and very strong.

Hope that helps.
What select dispensarys?
Never seen or heard of it.

Also this thread isn't an advertising platform. You want to push your wares put in some $$ for the site and get an advertising banner/user membership and have your own forum here.

we opened our forums up to allow talk of any strain and breeder a while back now, but we still only allow advertizing to those that actually support this place in some way or another. there are banners available, vendor forums, you can sell your seeds through seed bay or bou. but to use this place to solicit customers without supporting icmag will see an account terminated pretty damn quick. see terms of use for more info.
